  1. Holy bald bat balls!

Gotta get dat Vitamin D somehow.
  2. Audio is now messed up for me.

You can go to the Mount & Blade folder, go into the modules folder and delete Viking Conquest.

After that right click the game in Steam, select "Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache" and the game should re-download for you. I don't think you lose any saved games since they are stored in your Documents folder.
  3. Playability over historical accuracy? POLL REVISED

There's a pretty large pool of pseudo-historical and even outright fantasy mods out there for M&B already, some of great quality too.

I'd prefer if they stuck to historical accuracy for this one, it's not like having 50 different variations of axe changes the game drastically, at least in my opinion.

I got the RGL warning but no crashs using windowed mode. They are most likely moving textures around and to combined files and some references are not updated on this hotfix.

--> use windowed mode if you get a RGL crash

I followed your advice, windowed doesn't stop the errors from occurring but it allowed me to bypass them. Once inside the battle though performance wasn't particularly great, and great question marks loomed over the battlefield!

I didn't do a fresh install so that might be the gremlin but I might just op-out of the beta for now.
  5. Viking Conquest Update 1.0 hotfix

The Beta patch actually made my game crash with an RGL (or RLG?) error. I tried to take a screenshot but I had to log out to regain control of my PC, it was something about a plant texture.

I was entering into the beach landing battle at Doccinga with that Sven guy.
  6. Memory Leak Issue?

I've noticed that in singleplayer if I replay a mission after a while it starts to drop frames and become juddery.

The mission I'm talking about is the beach landing in Doccinga. Runs fine at 60fps at first, but after a few retries it starts to lag out.

    System specs if that helps:

    Windows 8.1
    i7-3770
    8gb RAM
    64 bit
    Nvidia GT660
  7. Locked at 30 - 35 FPS? and only 32 bit??

Ok so i came back to the M&B community for this expansion pack, and for some reason it feels as if the game does not support 64 systems and caps at 30 - 35 FPS, if this is the case this expansion should be upgraded to support 64bit systems (almost the whole world is using 64 bit now, anyone that uses 32 bit is outta there sorry >_>) and uncap (or at least cap FPS at 60) please?

Thanks for your time reading this.

    -Alak

EDIT: Also congratz bry team for making it to the big time, i remember when you guys just started

The game isn't capped to 30 for me. Check your settings, when you run M&B the module selection window pops up. Choose "Configure" then Video and you can set the framerate limit.

Perhaps you are running a resolution at 30hz or something weird too so check that.
  8. Bug List

    - That one guy hiding in battle.

    What a jerk.
  9. Ok so it's a bad release, no big deal

I told you lot to wait. Its not Bannerlord its a premium mod.But noooooo , Vikings raaar !

It's hard not to get swept by the raaar! though. I even bought chicken and oats

On the plus side my Viking Bjorn Butt Thunder looks the part and has already annoyed a monastery.
  10. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

Oh I feel bad for being on the 'pressure to release' bandwagon now, the game and features look great but it crashes randomly as I leave and enter towns.

Hopefully it's all fixable through patches, I just hope it doesn't ruin the team's reputation or anything because the base of the game is really really cool.
  11. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

Carbs, protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals: Vikings were nutritional gurus.
  12. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

Aww 5AM tomorrow for Australia then, and I even went out and bought chicken and oats to have a traditional raider meal.
  13. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

It's 10:21 AM in Australia, release already! Living in the future sucks sometimes

It's not the mechanics so much as the 60 minutes of "ARRGRRHGHHHHHHH"while chasing unarmed peasants that I'm looking forward to.
  14. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

He can come across as arrogant, which I think is why he gets on some people's nerves, but the guy was bullied and has health issues so it's just a defense mechanism I think. If you get past that first impression nothing he says is really controversial or inflammatory.
  15. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

Thanks, I was looking for that post but couldn't find it.

I'm pretty psyched for the expansion now, hope it releases well and sells good too. Maybe Totalbiscuit and some of those youtube people will showcase it and generate some wider interest in the game.
  16. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

Hopefully it releases on the 11th for Australia, usually we get things a day later because we live in the future. My house is switching over to NBN on the 12th and I might not have internet (and therefore Viking Conquest) until Monday

I'll go sacrifice a goat and hope that somehow works in my favour.
  17. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

I thought the trailer was pretty fun, gives a good spirit to the project.
  18. Mount & Blade: Warband - Viking Conquest DLC (Release Date: 11th December)

Will the DLC automatically download once it's released on Steam? It looks like the Napoleon one did so I'm guessing Viking Conquest will be just as magical.

I'm not trying to be a smartass. You do.

And devs not respecting their customers who pre-ordered the game doesn't justify you being an a**hole towards people, who are just willing to get the product they paid for, on the promised release date.

I can see your frustration but the page said December when you pre-ordered, not December 1. Granted, they probably could have clarified and put at some point in December just to calm anxious customers.

DINOSAURS, some actual items of clothing have survived, and a lot can be learned from the position of metal objects around the waist and on the shoulders in graves (brooches, belt fittings, etc). Pictorial and literary evidence also exists, although it's less reliable.

edit: when in direct contact with metal, some fibres are preserved, which we can use to glean a lot of information about the different textiles used, how many layers were worn, what dyes were used, etc.

That makes sense, though that poster I quoted was really specific, even down to how they carried their boots etc. I know very little about Vikings so I was curious; I've started watching some documentaries to build up for the DLC release though

Although I've already purchased the dlc I cant seem to be disappointed in the historical "accuracy" of the equipment used by the vikings shown in the trailers and screenshots. I also believe if they wanted a good viking dlc they should have gone with the Vikingr team "obvious choice in my opinion" but anyways if they went for accuracy of armors and weapons Id rate it a 7/10.

Ok so in this picture it is pretty good at best the one thing I spot right of the bat is the lack of winged spears and a rather large amount of "leaf" spears. I also see a lack of the pouches that vikings would wear due to the lack of pockets. One thing I enjoy is seeing viking on viking fighting naval battle which occurred regularly during the dark ages. For a quick glance the man jumping from ship to ship has a rather weird pair of boots which in most cases would have tucked under their leg raps serving as a primitive gaiter. As for the mail within other screen shots the mail would have stopped at the bicep and similar with the gambeson, also the mail looks very beat up with there being massive holes withing the rings which is obviously something they would have attempted to repair.

As for the helmets and weapons/tools shown there seems to be a lack of options although we could have numerous types of simple nasal helm to the nicer gjermundbu helms or even to the ornate Valsgärde and Sutton Hoo head gear. The screens seem to have a lack of side arms for the norse invaders as well id like to see weapons as common as the seax and the common utility knife within the game.
Well enough of my viking fan-boy rant but I guess I was looking for damned near historical experience with this dlc. I just want this to end up as a great dlc that will thrive. Anyways skål!  :???:

~I am highly aware that they likely added many more items, but may have not shown us due to these pictures being rather dated.~

Is there really that much information on what Vikings wore? I'm just browsing Wikipedia out of curiosity (I know it's hardly academic but it's... easy) and it seems like just one complete helmet and mail shirt are out there.

Sounds like plenty of weapons have been found though
