  1. Suggestions/Feedback

Is there really something so wrong with someone making a few suggestions, and wanting to share what they like about the game and what they would like to see included, hypothetically?

I got that he was saying he would ideally like to see more options with the Vikings, amongst other things. A bit of feedback and banter never hurt anyone did it?

I thought that sort of thing was what game forums are all about, but I might be wrong... Threats about double posting and warnings to use the search function more effectively must be the answer.

I think you just have to roleplay it. In these times being a female ruler would have been hard, maybe many lords would publicly reject your company based on just that (even the upstanding ones). But they'll still privately accept your bribes and gifts .

Yeah. In some ways, knowing it's not going to be changed makes things a little easier. I'll just get on with invading some more west coast cities

Ah ok. That's a shame. Thanks.
  4. Feasting as a female character

    Hello Celtibero,

I was wondering if there was any update on this, whether the additional details above helped identify an issue at all?

    Thanks
  5. Feasting as a female character

Thanks for having a look

The two characters in the same place is my character's husband - he's in his fief. One sprite always appears in his fief, regardless of where he is with his army. The other only appears if he is in town with his army, and he duplicates in the lord's hall. You'll notice if he leaves, one character stays behind while the other is in the field. I guess it is a bug, but it kind of doesn't bother me too much. The feast thing is more bothersome though.

I haven't modded anything at all, it's just been this way since my character got married.

Here're the steps I took, if it helps:

    1. Got married and joined Alt Clut faction via my character's husband (I didn't swear fealty to the liege, and didn't hold any fiefs at the time). He only held a couple of villages as fiefs, so didn't have a hall of his own.
    2. As part of Alt Clut, I took down Rath Celtair and it was awarded to me as my only fief. My husband's sprite then permanently started appearing there, even though he wasn't there with his army. This was really useful, as he was always nearby.
    3. I eventually spoke to him and declared independence from Alt Clut. He joined me as my vassal, with no fiefs of his own.
    4. I took down Dun Breatann and gave Rath Celtair to him after moving my court.
    5. Took out the rest of Alt Clut.

I checked an old save, and there was no feast option back after my character first took Rath Celtair either. I've just never had the option.

Sorry about the confusion with the link to the other thread, I just meant people were saying that characters were able to feast in native.

Hope that helps? I was wondering if there's any way to modify the save game to fix it? I'd really like to have a go at taking over as much as I can, but I think if I have a lot of vassals, I'll really need feasts to help keep them happy. I'm equally happy to start again, but I'm worried that the same thing will happen, as I don't know what caused the issue - I haven't messed with anything so it's all very strange.

    I appreciate your help, thanks

  6. Feasting as a female character

Yes thanks, in fact the save game link I posted above is from the 2.010 beta, but the dialogue option does still not appear. I'm not sure if it is a problem generally, or if my game is bugged?
  7. Feasting as a female character

By the way, this occurs both as a vassal and as an independent ruler.

    Thanks.
  8. Feasting as a female character

Hi, As a female character, I have found I'm unable to start a feast. The dialogue option to initiate it with my husband is not present. My save game: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b2gft0qrkawchqs/sg03.sav?dl=0 I have been told on the VC forum that it is a problem with Native, however the...
  9. Marriage question

Ahh, no problem. I didn't realise feature development was over.

I'll have a look at the things you suggested. Thanks.
  10. Marriage question

That would be great if that was added. Frankly, my current character's husband is totally useless - courting three other women, and spending most of his time sitting in a castle.

If I could replace him with a minister, and have an extra castle to myself, everything would be much smoother!

    Thanks for your help.

Just on this subject, does anyone know if there are instances where as a female character, you can host feasts? I rebelled via my husband, and couldn't - if you marry after establishing your own kingdom, is it possible?

It kind of put me off the game I had going when it happened (I know it's just a small thing), but if there's a way around it I might restart and marry after becoming queen.

    Thanks

Unlikely, since it probably isn't "your" kingdom or "your" feast if you're a married female of a king.

Well, that's not strictly the case, as in the example when I rebelled via my husband, I selected the option to rebel in my own right, not via his claim.

And in the example I'm asking about - where my character creates a kingdom, a lord joins said kingdom, then marries up as her consort, AND all the lords report into her (not him) - I'm pretty sure it would make sense for her to be able to hold her own feasts.

  13. Starting a feast as a female character

Hmm, I was definitely able to do it in Warband when I used to play native a few years back. Maybe they just haven't included it as a feature in VC? Just seems a bit of an odd omission if so.
  14. Starting a feast as a female character

So, just wondering - is this a bug? Or am I completely missing the place where I can arrange a feast via my character's spouse?

I always thought the dialogue option was under the "Let us discuss matters related to our household" dialogue option, but it's not there. Is there some other way of arranging a feast?

    Thanks
  15. Starting a feast as a female character

I don't actually get the quest to hold the feast (I guess that is what you mean).

I'm looking for the option to begin arranging a feast, but can't see it - so there's not a quest I can reset.
  16. Starting a feast as a female character

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

I'm actually already on the 2.005 beta, and still have the problems.
  17. Starting a feast as a female character

Hello, I'm having a good game as a female character - got married, started a faction. I have a few towns and castles in the realm. I want to start a feast in the town where my court is based, but I can't find the option. I understand it should be done via my spouse, but I can't find the option...
