BUG Reports v 1.35 (Read first page before post)

I must say I agree with the arrow damage issue.  Not a bug, but balance.  I do find it odd that in last version a bow could kill a deer in 2, maybe 3 hits, one if head shot.  Now, that doesn't happen.  And peasants I would expect could be dropped in just a couple of shots, but tend to survive quiet a few.

    Horses

My appologies, I realize now he probably ment brace as in placing it on ground, I read and thought he ment the crouching effect you can do in native with the spears and lances, which technically is also bracing for an impact

    Horses

You can't technically brace, just hold attack while charging and swing at right momment, the bonus damage can be intense, but bracing was more of a development later on from my understanding of how lances are designed.

BUG Reports v 1.35 (Read first page before post)

It might not technically be a bug.  However, I find that it seems a bunch of bandits on foot, along with farmers, are rediculously fast.  I can catch deer herds easier than I can 30 unright bandits.  I can't figure out why I have about 80% troops mounted and high moral and bandits are still about the same speed as me, sometimes faster.

    The Four Religions in Brytenwalda

Ok, so you start a shrine in a village, will your religion spread to other villages or do you need to keep gaining control and building them?  Cause it apears to me you can only build shrines if you own the village.

    Excellent job on lairs

I honestly see this option nowhere in my camp.  Do you need a certain leadership, renown or tactic skill for this?  I unlocked the sneaking after a bit, but still don't see any lair options.

    .35 trade

This actually makes sense to me.  Most villages produce the minor stuff and transported to the cities, the cities actually fashioned the finished goods to send back to villages.  However, you can buy from those villages for less than 100, and sell for like 2-300, but you can often travel over to the other island and actually sell those goods for like 8-900.  Plus the cities do run out of money and you sometimes have to wait a few days for them to get more.

    More Siege questions (Spoiler)

The spy issue I haven't actually sent any.  No need to send messengers, and it just isn't giving me option to send to cities, maybe I'm bugged somehow and it's not the game itself.

I will experiment with it, and thanks for the info on mercs.  Is there any other tactics/leadership based on level secrets people should know that are missing from the notes?

    Rain

I think this might be the place to ask since it was mentioned that he tweaked it for certain seasons.  But... do the days/months in the game actually supposed to be symbolic of real life days/months?

    More Siege questions (Spoiler)

I have a tactics of 2, it will let me send messengers, but I can't send them to towns/villages or castles.

What is Merc Leader max party size?  And I assume the cost for them leading is same as if the troops were in my own party, definatly not less as if garisoning a castle.

Why do I lose honor if I don't bury the bandits who tried to murder me?

Ogaburan, I want to thank you, you opened my eyes on that statement.

I had always wondered about the burning of enemies bodies too, I suspect you're right and it's more of giving rights to your own men.  Cause it does mention fixing wounds.

    attitude towards your caracter

talk to every farmer/trader you see, sooner or later you'll find a village they were seen at last, and how long ago.  Head in that direction continueing to ask the traders as you travel.  Sooner or later if tracking is high you should find tracks near that village or get a lead to another village with a lower time frame.  If tracking is high enough you'll know what made the tracks so if you're looking for something like the wandering warriors or what ever they are called it'll tell you and just start following tracks near the closest village you can narrow it down to.  After a bit of talking and tracking you should find them.  It honestly tends to take me about 3 days, I have the one Angle tracker that starts with like 6 tracking even though his int is way too low for it

Hope that helps.  Will warn you, they like to send you after parties that are elite or heavy infantry, so even if you outnumber them 3 to one you might have some losses, went after 9 elite infantry with only 25 guys, hurt but I won.  Also had some captures which made the 1k I got paide turn into about 3k.

    BUG Reports v 1.34

I was serving the Picts, they started at war with Dal Riata, I think it is always that way.  Anyways the Picts took Dun At and now there are 3 Dal Riata lords chilling in the great hall of the city 2 only have themselves in army and one has him and one troop.  They never leave.  And the City is labled as under siege and all the pict lords keep going nuts and patrolling around Dun At because they think it's under siege and won't attack any other castles.  I am assuming since there are only 2 castles and no towns and the fact that they can't leave to collect rents that they are stuck there permanantly and the Picts aparantly will never finish this war.

I watched the marshal and about 4 Fortriu lords race back and forth 'Patrolling Dal Riata' for about 15 days straight before I realized this would never end and left the lords army to start my own merc group.

This is similar but not quite to the other post started about lords in other villages, but my understand is they were chilling in other faction cities after being defeated and claiming to have changed alliances.  These were an undefeated Dal Riata still at war with the city they were sleeping in.

    _______________________________________________________________________________________

I wanted to post an idea also.  In the last version when you hunted, the animals acted as a pact.  If you dropped one animal the whole pack would start running, always following a leader, if you managed to pinpoint the leader and kill him, the whole pack would do nothing but stay near where he dropped.  Is it possible to set it up so a new leader is formed when that happens, or change their behavior?  I liked that the herd/pack would folow a leader and when you dropped an animal they bolted.  But I got to the point where I could pinpoint the leader on first or second chase every time and then I didn't have to chase anymore, I could kill over and over cause they wouldn't leave.

Mercenary Leaders?  I saw some for hire in tavern, they have an option of recruiting for you??  How does that work?  Only reason I didn't hire them is cause I knew mercs have high costs of upkeep and every time I've seen a name like that you can assume they will be too expensive.

And sending spies into cities, does that have a leadership/tactic requirement now?  I would like to see a list of the leadership/tactic levels and what they offer since they aparantly now are very important.  I played like 2 days not knowing I had enough leadership to do the sneak function till it happened to appear on forum somewhere.

I love all this realism and such, but many features seem to not be explained too well and it's stuff we could easily miss, as much as I'd love to 'learn as I go' it's not an ideal plan.

SUGGESTIONS (read 1 post before replying)

My understanding was there was surgery during the time, but not nearly as useful as modern day, so either tweaking how much chance it has to save a life, or decreasing it's max level would make sense to me.  Their definition of surgery was amputation and just sewing or burning a wound shut.  Rip javalin out of leg and put in a hot iron poker, he might live

    BUG Reports v 1.34

Got a new one for ya.

The picts, I assume you planned to call them Fortriu instead of Cait, but they have a small issue.

The capitol appears to be Monid Crobh cause every game I start the king owns and stays there, however, the old capitol Dun Tarou still is where the Kingdom Bard and Priest are still at, also Dun Tarou's castle guard is out chilling next to a donkey on the pier... Only reason I know is my renoun still wasn't high enough to just enter the great hall so I was going to buy renoun from the bard

Persuasion being Cha instead of Int perhaps?

I personally feel that int is already too useful in general.  And I feel a very persuasive person needs charisma, you can be super intelligent and not have any skills to convince people to your cause.  I am unsure why this choice was made and am really curious.  Seems Cha is rather less desireable of a skill now.

SUGGESTIONS (read 1 post before replying)

I had a small suggestion about monetary system.

What about cutting down the value of all items/wages/upgrades by dropping a diget off the end?

Cheapest item I have ever seen was a 12 schillinga bag of grain, was that right unit for money? Think so.  Well I figure if cheapest item will almost always be atleast 12, why not drop it to 1.  It would also cause the 30,000 weapons to drop to 3,000.  In the long run if everything it tweeked like this I don't view it as game changing, more of just number tweeks.  I do figure this idea won't be done cause it probably requires a lot of variables to be adjusted and not something you have anyone willing to do, especially while dealing with the patch you're building.

Thanks over all for a great mod, you're the best!

Lords in Castles(Not the normal issues you're all finding)

I know you all will assume I made another post about lords just sitting in there castles, this is a different yet similar thing I've found and wonder if any of you have a fix. I was serving the Picts, they started at war with Dal Riata, I think it is always that way.  Anyways the Picts took Dun...

    being a soldier

Everyone keeps saying 'access the chest'  If you click on the inventory when showing map it pauses and you can access your inventory then and change what ever you want perm, then just click on map and it brings you to 'talk to lord' and just click continue or never mind, what ever the option was and it goes back into fast forward while serving lord.

I only mention this because sieges don't place a chest, unless I for some reason am just missing it.
