    I really like the options provided by second tree then.  It always bugged me that I either had to convert merc infantry to horsemen or leave them sitting waiting for a promotion I don't want to give them.

    Its two newly started 2.0 games with the same issue.  Only one of the saves is prior to the ambush, unfortunately.  I dont know if the post-ambush saves will help or not, for my first character I saved over the pre-ambush one before I realized the issue.  Additionally, she (Solvieg) lives through the encounter each time.

    Each time I chose the surprise attack option on Sven's hideout, if that could at all be related.

    Try overwriting the textures and brf's from my post above.

    If that still doesn't fix it, try grabbing the 0.74 patch and overwriting it on your 0.74 full version (and place everything from "Resources" in to "Resource").

    The .dds and .brfs from the above post did not resolve the ctd issue, however manually patching my .74 full install with the .74 patch install did resolve the issue.  I successfully loaded and fought the battle after that.

    Oddly, it introduced the issue reported above where there were duplicate <fight> or <flee> options (4 choices during the pre-battle convo instead of 2), but that appears to be only a cosmetic issue at the moment.

    I appreciate the assistance with helping me out : )

    I found a demon worshiper party and had no problems fighting them.

    Could you check to make sure that you have a folder called "Resource" and not "Resources" in the perisno module? if you do have a "Resources" folder, move everything in to "Resource"

    If you don't, try copying this https://www.sendspace.com/file/b33zry in to your Resource folder

    if it still crashes, post your rgl_log.txt in the main warband directory when it does so.

    You might want to try using the full 0.74 version, as the patching might not have worked properly.

    I am utilizing 0.74 full grabbed from the nexus as a clean install of Perisno (not over writing an old version)

    Okay, so I found another Demon Worshipper group, with the same result.  I saved this time before the combat.

    It allows me to talk to the leader of the group, and challenge them to combat, but when I click charge the enemy for combat to commence I ctd.

    I replaced the gp.brf that you uploaded, with same result.  I double checked that my Perisno 0.74 folder has a "Resource" folder, *not* a "Resources" so that is good.

    I will spoiler post my rgl_log.txt below, mods please let me know if that was not the appropriate way to post textwalls.

    In the meantime will download a full .74 copy not from a location that is not the nexus.

    Here ya' go.  These are the last two screens after he tells you, "Let's take this to the fields."  Same thing with either choice, one on one or duel.  Yes this is with the King, I don't know why it reads anything about bandits :?:


    I get the exact same problem - went straight to the king after killing the smuggler (conner?) and it won't let me fight him, it shows the results of the previous battle and then says my army is too small.  I have 92 men with me.
  12. 0.66 Bug Report Thread

    I'm not quite sure this bug is from the vanilla Custom Settlements mod as I have edited the troops.txt using the troop editor to add my custom faction troops so this may just be some inadvertent dumb thing I did that screwed this up

    But in the adventurer upgrade tree there is some definite weirdness, as most of the bowmen do not have archery skill

    specifically the male scout, strider, ranger & watcher (sorry watcher isnt supposed to be a ranged unit after all judging by his lack of a bow)

    also the female archer sharpshooter speedshooter & sniper also have zero archery, and the flurry has 420 (already mentioned in this thread) which is somewhat absurd

    all of these do have polearms skill however, and some do not have guaranteed ranged weapons, which could create some awkwardness from your archers.

    also shouldn't protectress, champion and troubadour have the mounted flag?  I'm not quite sure what exactly that flag does though but they are supposed to be mounted units i assume

    I realize that the upgrade trees are a WIP but since the ai parties in the adventurer faction use these units it stinks for them to be running around with archers with a skill of 0 in archery

    Love this mod so far!
  13. Bandit party size way to high for starting character

    Until you have a core group down that can make bandits and merc war parties into profitable encounters, it's really not worth recruiting the low-end peasant units.    Unless you're looking for a challenge, of course.  They will only lower your travel speed to the point where you can't run from anything on the world map while at the same time being absolutely useless against the same bandits/merc parties you can no longer run from.

    Or recruit the khergit peasant units to start with, thats what i typically do at the very start

    I agree, Ive been running around using a Balanced Warhammer (45b 113 spd 90 reach) and loving it.  Its worthless on horseback due to its short range but once you can get inside someones guard its over.  I think I've retired my sword for good.

    I too am not a fan of the stalkers in their present incarnation.

    They stand with my archers and have nothing to shoot with!

    Perhaps the swadian cavalry tree could stand to be shortened a bit page->squire->knight->knight-captain->knight-commander->knight-lord->cavalier.  I couldnt tell you the difference between them once you get past knight, other than they cost more

    I just gave this mod a shot yesterday, and I have to say its very impressive.  I've come to loathe forest battles and now try to flee to the plains whenever I think combat is unavoidable. 

    Maybe its the new skins (models?  I'm not sure I know the difference) or maybe its the background stories for each, but the factions do feel very different when playing them, which is fairly rare for M&B.  The character creation changes are pretty neat and fit with your world that you guys have created.  The one question I have is the different skill names/descriptions....  Some of them are rather vague and its difficult to tell if they changed what the vanilla M&B skills do or just gave the same native skill a more "fantasy" or lore-appropriate name/desc.

    Besides, you can guess I enjoyed the mod when I finally registered to post specifically to say I liked Talera despite owning m&b since somewhere in the .7 releases (..  i think, its been a while!)
