    Camp -> Options allows you to turn off 3D menus for towns, did you check that out?
    That indeed makes the problem disappear, but I still prefer the 3D menus.

    What header? I've copied the text in its entirety, without any modifications. The file is located at ~/.steam/steam/SteamApps/common/MountBlade Warband/rgl_log.txt.

    By the way, here are some of my findings (tested in the Recruit Volunteers screen):
    • Having Use Depth Effects enabled seems to always get rid of the triangle entirely, no matter what the other options are set to.
    • With Use Depth Effects off and:
      • Particle Systems on, the triangle shows up like I described it in my original post: http://i.imgur.com/NNrT9rC.jpg
      • Particle Systems off, the triangle changes size, like so: http://i.imgur.com/YiEfNHB.jpg (can reproduce in Doccinga, not visible in some other villages)
    If there are supposed to be any screen fade effects while the camera is moving, they are not showing up for me properly.

    Aw, that sucks. I've seen the previous Marshall summon parties for an offensive campaign several times (even though we were at piece with each realm). That's why I've overestimated the powers of being a Marshall. I guess I'll have to wait for Swadia to declare war against us.

    Lords do give out quests when the kingdom is at peace to make war with another faction, they will ask you to raid some caravans / plunder a village or two so that they declare war on their/your faction.
    Not sure if they still give out those quests if you are a marshall though, I have never been a marshall myself.

    Not sure either. I only got that quest once back when I wasn't a Marshall, only to revert to my previous save, because it severely hurt my disposition with other vassals.

    Hi, everyone! I have been recently appointed Marshall for the Nords and decided to take out Swadia. However, it seems I am waging a personal war against them, as none of the Jarls in my army are willing to support me in combat. I think this is the cause of our realm currently not being at war...
