The Grand Nova Aetas Survey
1) What feature ingame do you like mostly and why?
I do like the building of a colony and castle, it has a lot of potentional and isn't seen often
2) Which of places below haven't you seen yet? And how do you like these places?
- All town street scenes of of Swadia, Vaegirs and Sarranids
- Temple of Minerva
- Great Aqueduct
- Drachenburg
- Beacons
- Uxkhal
- All 3 jungles
- All 4 New World special places
- Tower of Istmur
- Both ruins and restored ruins of Calrad Capital
- All 6 house interiors of both plain / desert cultures
- All 7 thronerooms
- Both 2 caves
- All 5 temple places (church, shrine, synagogue)
- All 3 resource gathering places
- All 3 townhall scenes
- Grand Basilica of the Pope
Saw most of them. I think they are pretty well done. Sometimes the villages get stuck but still well done.
3) How do you like the New World and its features? (bugs excluded)
I think it's a bit stall. Currently I'm the only one who has a colony. Do others actually make colonies? Also, the natives should be more agressive and travel between islands.
I haven't gotten an attack on my colony and it's been there for 100 days or so. Haven't seen any natives close to them and -3 relation for settling is not enough.
4) What do you think of overall balance between factions in Calradia? Who is the most powerful in
your game? And who is relatively quick defeated?
Currently I'm 250 days in my save and all factions are still there. I think the balance is quiet good.
I do think the Horde is way to weak! When they entered, they lost 2 of their castles within 10 days and currently they only have 1 castle left.
The Nordic and Vaegir are almost gone in my save, with the Nordic having 3 castles left and the Vaegir 2.
The Nordic were simply to weak and the Vaegir just waged war on everyone.
The strongest factions in my save is the Noregr, with 20 castles. Runner-up are Swadia and Rhodok with 12 and 11 castles.
So there is a big difference there. But that makes it more fun.
5) Did the Turguhn Horde terrify you? And did they take atleast 7 towns/castles? Were they beaten quickly after appearing?
They did take atleast 7. But as stated, they almost got wiped out instantly. They are hardly terrifying. Their armies should be huge.
I haven't even had an encounter with them as I mostly stay in the west part of Caladria.
Edit: The Horde just declared war on Noregr who at this moment has 22 castles... So... No, I'm not terrified of a kingdom with a deathwish
6) Tell us your opinion about the new animations. Do you like them?
Haven't noticed them that hard.
7) How do you experience the grand texture overhaul? New textures and realistic colours?
It's nice. But the clothing of the tournemants should be changed. Sometimes you can only see the colour of the team by the feather on the helmet.
Tell us about your experience with village management? What was hard and easy? Is it balanced?
I love it. It's well done.
9) And town management?
Don't have a town yet.
10) And kingdom management?
Neither a kingdom.
11) Did you encounter problems with customising your own personal kingdom troops?
Haven't gotten a kingdom yet.
12) Did you read the introduction on the game and religion aspects in the beginning and
the stories about Drachenburg and Uxkhal? How do you like them?
Love them. But I do wish there were some quest evolved around these stories.
And religion should do more. Not just "oh, you have a different religion, I hate you".
The crusades are a nice thing though.
13) How do you find the building system? Using timber, tools, stone and marble?
It's nice but the system of "fine" or "bad" materials should either make sense (like stronger material or more material) or left out.
It's a bit stupid paying 3000 for fine marble and 300 for regular marble while they do the same.
And needing atleast 10 is a bit stupid...
14) How can we improve religion ingame? How can be make it a big deal for the player?
Maybe add stuff like praying to boost certain stats. Religion should have more effect on gameplay.
15) Tell us your ingame story. Which faction did you join? Your difficulties? And how did you earn money?
I mainly went by my own. I was a mercanery for Noregr for 2 months.
I only just joined Rhodok when they asked me to. The most difficult part were the Cather extremist.
I earned mainly money by having a farm and renting homes.
16) What's your general opinion about money ingame? Is it well balanced? Are there any exploits? Is it hard to get Florins?
It's quiet balanced. It's hard in the beginning but once you have some estates, money is easier. As it should be.
17) What about the social class/noble titles system? How quick did you grow from the Lower Class to Middle
and how quick from Middle to Higher? And how quick from Higher Class to Nobility?
Have you ever reached the highest title: Archduke? Or at which title are you generally stuck?
I currently have 2209 prestige. It was very hard in the beginning to earn prestige. But when you get money, you get prestige.
But I do think however that your title should have more effect within the world and your kingdom.
1
Do you know what these small flags are above each banner?
Their title.
19) How did these culture titles like Jarl, Tumetu-iin Noyan or Barone play a role in your imagination?
Nice, fits the kingdom system. But as I said, titles should have more effect within the kingdom itself.
20) Have you ever tried using Influence Points? Does it work correctly? And how often do you use them?
Not yet.
21) Tell us your story about renting/buying/selling/renting out residents? Your first resident and more.
Bought the cheapest resident first and rented it out to make more money. And time by time I got more money and more residents. It's a nice addition.
22) Have you resurrected the Calradic Empire and become Emperor yet? If so, have you every trained Legionnaires, Centurions, Velites and Equites?
Not yet.
23) How's your farming experience?
Did some in the beginning but it should be extended (maybe become an actually village, like a colony)
24) Tell us your story of starting as apprentice and joining the Guild in a town.
Still an apprentice.
