Resolved [e1.2.0] Stutter starts after 1~2 hours of gameplay

Just recently I have upgraded my system from 8GB to 16GB.
Based on this, no longer encounter the issue on e1.4.2.

I heard the new patch is over 9gb. Is it a problem if I only have 7gb free space?

If you are familiar and comfortable with using command line, you can try compressing with Windows' own "compact.exe" tool.
I managed to saved more than 10GB after compression.

    Resolved [e1.4.0] Strange companion behaviour

Hi, are you still having the same problem after the live patch e1.4.1?
Thank you for the follow up. It has been resolved. I tested with e1.4.2 beta.

Statement regarding Plans for Singleplayer and Engine

kinda ruined the experience for me
You've kinda agree to take the risks of purchasing an early access game.

I think it would be better to just announce what is being worked on.
This: Statement regarding Plans for Singleplayer and Engine, is good enough for me.

As an EA paying customer I think I should have access to not just the game but more communication about how things are progressing.
Exactly sounds like my boss. Ever since WFH starts due to this pandamic, he calls for meeting twice a week to check on progress (previously was once a week). Requested me to provide details, after listing them out, he complained, too technical for him to understand. So, I simplified, he complained, it takes took long to finish such simple features.

When is the next patch coming?

1.4.1 is not coming any time soon. Granted they are trying to fix several huge issues but, in return, they are breaking new things.
That’s right, regression test takes time.

Thank you TW for breaking all the mods again, sigh...

mods are the only alive thing in the current development
If this is the case, modders should be able to catchup with the changes, instead of people pointing fingers at the devs.

    steps forward
How to "step forward" when the base/foundation is not yet fully functional aka "early access"?

I don't want too take up modding a game on my spare time, its not my job to fix anything! Putting the onus on the customer to fix the product is a terrible business model and a huge mistake.
As mentioned in my previous post, modders are group of people who are passionate with the game, and passionate with coding/programming. They are not expecting anything in return for their time and effort spent, it is their hobby.

If Rockstar would have done this game
Then it would be a totally different game.

If they would communicate things like that, or even give us some actual updates about where they are standing and where they want to go,
This plan is good enough for me. And these updates are good enough for me.

The only thing really keeping TW above water is that they have a unique game in a niche market. If another developer picked up on the concept and did it better...
These were simply based on your own assumptions. In fact I am in similar situation as TaleWorlds: working in a department where the subject is niche in the market. However, due to previously bad management, information are not well documented by the ex-team, the new team who took over needs to pick up every details (including the niche information) from scratch. These takes time to pick up but the department need to keep its head above water, so, we are still “labeled” as expert (which obviously we are not yet) in that subject in order to market our niche product.
The point is, even if you had paid a certain price of an unfinished product, which is termed as early access, you should be already expecting something worse, not for the better. 2 months passed, and 2 months can be considered long, can be short, it is still subjective. As I had mentioned in one of my post, it can take me 2 months to just resolved 2 simple bugs taken by face value. Why took me 2 months: simply, 1. i have to relearn the codes, 2. previous developers developed a non-future proof code style. The list goes on. I believe even if other developers took up the same job, situation will be either same or not even worse, very less possible to be better. Talk is cheap, if you think you can do a better job yourself, then spend your time create some mods and fix those problems you encountered, instead of complaining and downplaying the developers efforts in forums.

    Beta Patch Notes e1.4.1

It should be obvious that a weekly cycle can't be guaranteed
One of the reason is because weekly cycle was not appreciated. People were complaining patch came out broke their game; patch came out they have to restart their game.

Modders look tall because they stand on the shoulders of giants.
    Fully agree.
  15. Watergun

Do you believe the game will be finished in 10 months?

    maybe in 2.5/3 years
Yup i am expecting that too. By then, i should have saved up enough to upgrade my PC.

It's more like seeing a sign, slowing down, then you find out there was no camera, and now you're running late. And you feel cheated.
The sign is there to warn you of your safety (speed kills), rather than to fine you. Late or not, it is already your own fault: in the first place, you should not be speeding in order not to be late. You should have planned your journey based on the safety speed limit.

As for this game, it has already put up the "warning sign - early access". You took the risk, making your own assumption that every dollar paid is every single cent worth. When the game is not up to your expectation, you feel cheated.

Almost two months into EA. Satisfied?

Sure, but there are still a lot of missing or incomplete features that need to be implemented before the game can be called finished.
For sure, early access can last for 1 year or even more. It is only 2 months, as for me, I am not expecting too much in 2 months. As a software developer myself, it can take me 2 months just to fixed up 2 simple features (based on face value) in a software project. My fellow teammate is even unluckier, he was stuck to resolve a bug that haunted our team for more than 6 months.

Wonder if these features are being listed (website?), and are marked as "still missing" by TaleWorlds?
  18. Watergun

Almost two months into EA. Satisfied?

Hmmm... So if a game needs features added in order to be considered finished, but it can't add new features until it is finished, then the game can never get finished.
In project management term, this is known as "scope creep".
  19. Watergun

Almost two months into EA. Satisfied?

I thought they would be able to add some new features in the first two months, boy was I wrong.
Never expect an unfinished product to have new features to be added.

It is just like saying, when you see the big sign "speed camera ahead", and you still press on your accelerator. After being issued a speed ticket, you tell the traffic police, "boy was I wrong".

I don't play any games without mods
All (software) games are mod-able. It really depends on the skill level and time dedication of the modder.
Need only low skill level and short turnaround time -> Game is developed to be explicitly "opened" to be mod, i.e. modular, decoupled, scalable etc.
Need high skill level and time consuming -> Game is developed not explicitly "opened" to be mod, i.e. obfuscated code, encapsulated modules, etc.
