u guys really arent getting wat im saying. companion skills are actually BROKEN right now. you need to look yourself instead of just automatically thinking other people are wrong without doing research. ill provide a picture as evidence. i never said we should be able to respec on the fly btw, i said i wanted a 1 time respec when we first got them, and only for the lords (meaning spouse). and only within the focus points spent in each attribute as a POSSIBLE fix for this debacle of a stat-line that you will see below:
for all your "logic" you didnt even bother to look into this before u typed anything. i dont care that im recruiting a "person" if that "person" doesnt make sense within their given role. this IS a problem with the game because this "person" shouldnt even have half of these skills and is literally incapable of leveling properly as a result of the way they were spent. im 100% certain that the devs will eventually re balance this, i just want it to be sooner than later. or i want the ability to fix it myself.
I did look at this before i typed, the main thing you have to realize is that there is a difference between knowledge and intelligence, a person can study a lot and learn about a subject without being very intelligent, such as learning how to manage an army (steward skill) while an intelligent person could have been forced due to events to not persue the fields he or she is interested in and be forced to pick up a sword and fight for his life, therefor not getting the maximum out of his natural talents. while i agree that the number of npc's that have this a bit disproportionate, it happened in real real life a lot more than you think. today we have a sociaty in which people can mostly walk the path they chose, in the past this was seldom the case, people had to do what was expected of them. in the time nobles ruled the world they did not care that much about a persons skills but more if his presiege/background was good enough to have such a job.
sorry to ruin your immersion, but she is an NPC, not a PERSON
if this is the argument we are going with than lets all stop playing an rpg's altogether.
i also like that u guys didnt even try to agree with anything i said and only found fault with 1-2 things that you obviously didnt even think about properly. why not try to support some of the changes u agree with instead of being only negative? i can play the negative game too but its not any fun for me.
obviously i did think about them propperly otherwise i would have said: i do not agree and left it at that, i came with arguments, if i would not have thought about them than i would not have posted arguments. i also did not really want to add more arguments to things i did not know enough about or which were already discussed to death of the forum.
Obviously you cannot handle people not agreeing with you on these topics otherwise you would not have talked to us in such harsh words and simply said you did not agree with our assesment. now can we try to keep this civil?
i do not use horse archers very often nor do i smith very much so i have nothing to add on these points, unlike what you assume i do think about what i type, which is why i do not type about things i do not know enough about.
the AI fails to properly utilize noble troop trees: the current state of the ai has already been discussed to death, no reason to do it again in this topic.
make the marriage system either more transparent or more forgiving: works fine for me, in all my playtroughs i have been able to get married.
archers start out so close behind melee units that they often cant even shoot: You command your troops, command the archers to stand somewhere else. this is not a hack and slash simulator, this is a game in which you command armies. set them up in formations. this is the biggest non-point on the list.
one of each hero needs to become available at the start of the game as opposed to several of the same hero in some cases.: agreed but this is just a bug i am assuming, this is ea they will fix it in time, right now they have more pressing concers which i would like them to fix first, such as the ai.
