I dont think there should be a distinction. A horse is a horse
While I understand why current speed mechanics cause caravans to have higher speed, than you would expect from, well, a caravan, and my party of 80 ppl (with a lot of horses) can catch up eventually, I find it strange that I have to chase a caravan through half the map, while a party of looters can be caught way quicker(I know, horses).
Doesn't solve the problem with just having lots of horses in the party without any drawbacks. While I agree that such change may cause problems, especially for AI, I think it would add more depths to the game if introduced properly, for example by adding more meaning to grain producing villages and forcing large armies to forage for food more.
It was also called badboy in EU 1 through 3
Yeah, some kind of badboy mechanic would be nice
No, I mean the cases when you can choose between 2 options for an upgrade, for example you want to upgrade this recruit to an archer or infantryman?
What about cases when you can choose?
No, I think caravan should be slower, because it is loaded with goods, while my party is travelling very lightweight. In which universe/setting is it realistic for trade caravan to be quicker than a war party?
Grazing was suggested as an alternative to having a huge stock of grain with you. Right now there is no downside to having an entirely mounted army. Introducing logistical issues would balance it out
Yes, and allow empire armies to build camps, like romans did
Great idea, however more complicated to implement. In general, parties shouldn't be able to travel uninterrupted for days(without sleep, letting horses graze etc. ) Adding such stops would increase immersion, but slower the game.
