  1. Parties seem useless now that they have taken away the the troops they auto-spawned

The better compromise would be to "lock" the troops they spawn with so that they can't be transferred to your own party and make it like donating troops to another lords castle and make it so you can give them troops but not take them away. I mean lets face it, these parties ARE supposed to spawn in with troops, that is how they were designed in the beginning. They don't know only because they needed to fix the exploit people were using to recruit armies quickly. Also lets face facts here, I am not even sure why it was removed. I mean it only takes me about 5 minutes to download a mod that will let me exploit the hell out of the game in any number of fashions so if someone wants to exploit party creation in their single player game, let them. I would have rather had that, then what we have now. Guess maybe I need to find a mod that spawns the troops back in hehe.

They want to make a base game that has actual progression, not things that allow you to skip progression. Gaining access to high tier troops from your companion armies, nullified you having to train up high tier troops (progression). Having them only be recruits, would benefit your companion, by not going out alone, while also meaning you can't exploit said army, to skip troop progression.
  2. Parties seem useless now that they have taken away the the troops they auto-spawned

Maybe a compromise would be they auto-spawn only recruits. Sure, you could use that to max out your troop capacity, but, it would be nowhere near as OP, as auto-spawning high tier units.
  3. Give Legionaries pila/javelins without the game making them archers?

And why can't you code them to be infantry?
  4. Crossbow Cavalry perk doesn't work

Nothing about Crossbows works. Useless weapon pretty much, might as well just use a bow.
  5. Most powerful person to marry?

If you meant skill wise, Arwa is the best as I know. As story wise, Zoana is the Lucon's daughter.

Story wise. That will hopefully clear some things up.
  6. Most powerful person to marry?

    Gold diggers everywhere.

Oh most definitely. A gold digger wife would hopefully fit right into this world.
  7. Suggestion: Horses should be fed

Hahaha, all the Cav Spammers in here trying to cope with a well-reasoned suggestion to balance the immense advantages horse parties get.

No need to go overboard, just have Cavalry units consume twice as much food. Herd animals can use "Graze" and Forage logic, but war mounts need to be kept in peak condition so their diet needs to be closely monitored.

By all means, balance Cav, just don't do it in a way that turns the game into a food fetch quest. Cav should be made easier to fight, not a holy grail you have work around to get.
  8. Suggestion: Horses should be fed

I don't get it, I have a W men strong men party, those consume an X amount of grain every day, I have an Y amount of horses, they consume a Z amount of grain every day. I buy (X + Z) * 30 to have a 30 day supply. I don't even calculate it in game, I just buy "a lot" and the game even shows you for how many days you have food. I just buy some more. I already carry around 100 tons of grain and various other foods, that's a lot and how does buying more make the game tedious?

Also why not a fixed amount of gold fee per day paid together with salaries for your men, then you don't need to do anything extra?

Because you get to a point where your party eats food so fast, it doesn't last long enough after you've just bought everything from a city.
  9. Suggestion: Horses should be fed

So you want to make the game even more tedious? What next? We have to pay taxes?
  10. Sally Outs Aren't Sally outs ?

It was bugged. You ended up inside the Castle, and the enemy were besieging it, but with no siege equipment, and they wouldn't use the ladders. You could basically then turn the gates into a killing chamber....

Then it got patched, so now it's a field battle.
  11. Nerf Southern Empire

Why does no ever state which side they are on.....
  12. To those who have been steamrolled:

I dont really think they are OP , the khuzaits. Ive been playing as their vassal and on 1:1 ratio our lancers ALWAYS get crushed by Empires lancers, especially their cataprachts and elite cataprachts, those things are tanks and a massive pain in the butt. I get it how khazuits can be a pain also, but maybe its because of their horse archers which indeed are very effective tool, especially since the horse archer ai is a lot better then warband and HAs will run in a pretty uniform circle around your infantry. That i conceed is very dangareous if you have infantry based army.
What id suggest if you have trouble dealing with khuzaits is to avoid open fields, its pretty logical. For a while i used exclusively horse archer (60%) and lancers (40%) in my party and i couldnt win any battle which wasnt open field. In the woods i could outnumber eneymy 2+:1 and still loose.
If open field is unavoidable, just focus on the empire cavalry and keep th infantry at minimum. As i said empire lancer are superior to khuzaits in my experiance and theyll do a fine job dispersing the horse archers

More and more it sounds like bias against the player. Whichever side you are on, will fail miserably, and your enemies will be unstoppable. Which doesn't feel realistic, IMO. Why do these Lords seem hell bent on destroying a relative nobody, like yourself?
  13. Sprinting, maybe?

Level up athletics. Or, ride a horse if you want to go really fast. You can even find horses in town to ride.
  14. What is the Empire’s Strength Supposed to Be?

Yup, I tend to use combined arms as the Empire and I'm probably less than a week from completing my conquest of the map. I haven't really tried to press hard into any other faction's troops so I have no idea how they feel.

I very much prefer crossbows over the palatine guards though, for whatever reason.

Crossbows raw power can definitely be fun, but your shield infantry and heavy cav can cut through even the toughest opponent. However, there weakness is against agility, and that's where the machine gun bows come in. You can only dodge so many arrows.......
  15. To those who have been steamrolled:

    Not really no
By which I meant bias against the player. Sorry if I confused you.
  16. To those who have been steamrolled:

they werent fighting each other for a couple months then 1 started fight the other but was still at war with 4 other factions....so stupid
    So definitely player bias then.
  17. What is the Empire’s Strength Supposed to Be?

That would explain why the Imperial AI is so easy to beat then lol.

Then why did the Southern Empire used to steamroll?
  18. To those who have been steamrolled:

i failed th quest then they all started spazzing on my faction lol weird
Interesting. I'll have to think about what that implies.
  19. What is the Empire’s Strength Supposed to Be?

Does shield wall actually work for you? No matter what formation I use the infantry of both sides seems to evaporate almost instantly.

It works for SurrealBeliefs. Use it to take the brunt of a charge, then attack before the enemy can react. Combined with a well timed heavy cav charge, and the raw DPM of your archers (which will also hopefully pick off some people before melee contact), and you will start to see enemy morale shatter, and your enemies flee.

I suppose, in a sense, the Imperials work best under good tactics.
  20. To those who have been steamrolled:

TBH its gotten better and then worse as everyone is against my faction for no reason....

Did you complete the quest? If not, definitive answer may be that the deck is stacked against the player.
