So originally I had crashing when fighting Nords, but other battles were fine. Now it crashes in all sorts of battles, even really small ones.
I was going to downgrade to the gameplay mod (because what's the point in high-res textures if you have to play on low graphics settings), but I get an error when it starts up.

Any idea what this is? The same error occurs after reinstalling that mod pack.
EDIT: I get the same error for the basic mod pack. Boooo
Also, why is the basic mod pack larger size than the gameplay mod pack? Is that normal?

... I was not able to recreate the crashing issue though. Have you checked to see if your graphics driver is the most up to date? I ask since it was not mentioned while the rest of your report was quite thorough.
Catalyst version 11.9. Although ATI is absolutely terrible, and has issues with all sorts of games so this isn't surprising. PS: Downgrading isn't an option, since I need the most recent version to fix performance/overheating issue in games like skyrim and dungeon defenders.
During development of 2.5 I started getting crashes mid-tournament fights for a couple of weeks out of the blue. You can imagine how difficult that made developing the tournament overhaul. Eventually there was a new driver out that fixed the problem, but in the meantime if I used a native module_music.py file (and recompiled) that solved the crashes entirely for me. If it isn't an issue with your driver being out of date perhaps that might be worth a try. If you have not gone through the process of setting up the module system for compiling and need help I can help with that.
Honestly, I have no idea what you are talking about. lol. I'm not a programmer/linux user, so I wouldn't know how to recompile anything. And how would I determine which module is causing the crashes?
I'm almost convinced this is a driver error. Every time the game crashes I look at the rgl_log and it looks fine, no errors, pretty much what I first posted. Except for when loading the gameplay module, that gives me the error I just mentioned about bo_tree_5_a.
