    Patch Notes v1.2.3 ...?

    What balance changes or fixes would you guys like to see in the next patch?
    +crowns for rulers
    +add a 3 character clothing setup so sieges
    +lawful executions - put to a faction vote
    +pike units for all factions as part of the troop tree
    +a friends and enemy system , so friends may give you gifts and aid and enemies send thugs and assassins ( the cunning mod as done this very well ) So it can be done TW
    +More Faction armours "Batania gets breastplate armour" but Vlandia hasn't come TW .
    +for blacksmith if set a companion to blacksmith lets cue up a list give them materials and leave so they build for use and get a message when their done or out of martials . Blacksmithing is not fun but it is useful and we do get blacksmith based companions help us take away the boring clicking.
    +All A.i can execute have it once relations hit -100 they will murder their worst enemy.
    + random world events maybe they only happen once a year and they come with those cool cut scenes (as cut scenes don't get used enough)
    random events could be small scale like saving a princess from a bandit lair or dueling a great warrior 1v1 or helping rebuild a village that's been raided helping farmer pow a field . So these would come as good deeds and grants special items or money or relations or influence. The events would scale with clan level so the grater the clan the grater the event.
    +the player gets a better description in the encyclopedia that grows with the character. Not just this is Bob of growing clan Ben.
    These are just a few things i would like to see.

    The thing about Bannerlord is that it seems the gameplay loop is a horrible pushed high repetitive grind to get a kingdom as fast a possible before the continent is over run by a faction. Its not how i personally play a find that style hard not in the that is challenging difficulty wise but challenging repeating the same few thing over and over without a break an d other things to do. Its like a E-sports mentally but in a single player battle softcore strategy medieval sim and that's not good in my eyes. So many youtube video's are like this yets the most fun bannerlord youtube playthroughs are story driven by the youtuber not the game features.

    How do you guys get caught when you have a party size of 1? Your map speed is like 7+ at that point.
    Yep baggage thats why and you get let loose out side the city and all the clans roaming go straight at you like rockets. but yes you can drop your baggage but you just paid for freedom and that can a small amount or large amount.

    When you get captured, you pay a ransom. Why the hell do they not let you peacefully cross out of their lands?! That's not fair and not right. It's bad game design! Give you a day to get out and get to safety.
    Yeah if you get captured and pay for release then you leave only to be recaptured 5 seconds later and be put back. happens all the time. Paying for release should teleport you to a nearby friendly city or put you clan in neutral state for a few days and cant be attacked or attack. Plus a prison escape could put you in caravan that leaves to city and you pay low amount for passage once out of the area or something like that.

    About 1.2 combat AI

    Quite the opposite the AI has gotten weaker :smile:
    For example, Cavalry stopped hitting infantry at all. You think the AI is better because it's a little better at blocking , but the AI is still very easy to beat on max difficulty.

    Never said it was to hard. As for cavalry i am finding different . When sent to finish off running troops they kill them every time for me. I think may be foot troop now can block cavalry before they were no good vs cavalry. As for the last patch i just moved forward swing left then right and won everyone and for a battle simulation it was pathetic. No footmen forming fighting lines it was just a charging blob. For some the new patch for what i get is they block me and make combat last longer. I like a longer more realistic battle. This Combat A.I just needs a bit more work. If people don't like being blocked play on normal the A.I is like Bannerlord setting on old patch very easy.

    About 1.2 combat AI

    I like the new combat A.I and find it more challenging compared to pervious updates of combat A.I. I play on Bannerlord settings and in pervious beta's found combat way to easy, to the point of being boring, After the update when i first tried it and the guy blocked me i was shocked and thought at last there not stupid. Yes they now block a lot more which is realistic. What's unrealistic is not blocking attacks. The pervious A.I cavalry was useless vs foot troops and just rode around them, but not now they kill them but this could still be improved. Thing is if it too hard for you lower your Combat A.I settings. But people want a bit of a challenge can play on Bannerlord setting, that's why there's difficulty settings.

    It looks fantastic just what the game needs and he's adding more cut-scenes also what the game needs. This will breath much need life and immersion into calradia.

    I strongly agree with you... my problem is that medicine now prevents death for you and your enemies, along side hight tier armor protecting it.

    Before we were in a huge death roll because they didn't implemented anything and now that they did, well the proof is your game play, 8% and still most people barely died in battle.
    It happen characters did die but its not game braking and every now and then there could be a devastating battle where their could be 4 out 10 die but it was rare. It made battle frilling unit i realised that my chance of die was so low i was actually trying to make it happen.

    you guys see the problem here? Roz say he's on 8% and yet is nearly impossible to kill high level charcaters with good equipments and proper perks on medicine or even medicine skill. That's what i'm talking about
    He made it to 77 in the end he got lanced in the back. I can finally play as the hire to the clan. I don't like the hermit retirement option, if i could retire my player it would to become a governor and let the young take the battle field. Or death which my Legendary Viking warrior he betrayed Sturgia, Made kingdom becoming a king and lost his kingdom , then joined Vlandia ,spent 30years making amends with Sturgia so his granddaughter and clan leader could join sturgia and go home. Maybe she will try and become queen . As all the old kings are dead from age or battle. 77 years of gameplay 3 strong factions remain and 2 factions with only 3 cities left . 8% death rate as worked fine and it still feels like constant war to the point i get fed up of battling stop in my town and hit fast forward.

    Really depends how they developed/coded it in their engine - only they can answer that. It works already in some form (ie retire), not sure how much harder it is to add the potential to 'swap souls' day to day between your multiple characters, and the teleporting aspect; not to mention the added potential for player abuse (though TW can't really stamp that out).
    Just retiring to Governor status would be what i would like.

    @Duh_TaleWorlds I think it should be in your current priorities. Right now during this stage of the game v1.2.0 and 1.2.1 no matter which faction you join, it all boils down to recruit soldiers and fight, fight, fight. Dont get me wrong the battle are good, animations are amazing, balance could maybe kinda do some tweaking, but everything other than wars and battles is falling really flat. Like the best part of the game is waging wars and battles, and even that can become repetitive. All NPCs are the same doesnt matter that their looks are different and have "different culture" and "personality"(which does nothing), they are all the same, bland and shallow.

    Between campaigns from different versions and the new one there is almost 0 difference. Again dont take it the wrong way, improvements are welcome and are praised, the game is way more stable and runs better on my 1050Ti i commend your programmers, but yeah, gameplay loop is bland. Please talk with your team leader or boss or whatever his title is. The community is painfully drooling for such content to be added in the game.

    If this was possible (can imagine the bugginess), would've been a great feature that helps reinforce this dynasty/generation thing.
    I don't think it would cause an issue. It would just make the that character an npc. Switching characters in clan should just be thing then you could hit the skills for each character and have fun doing it.

    @Duh_TaleWorlds @Dejan so I'm guessing nothing of the sorts is planned ? I'd like you to think on it, because if you kee playing the game you will notice the game is really repetitive and grindy, and during peacetime the game offers almost 0 variety.
    This is the problem with the game for me too.

    Yeah I agree we should be able to just switch characters without retiring them and still be able to use them as governors or emissaries and whatnot.

    Also, I think as another immersion feature, pregnant women should also not be able to fight, but pregnancy lasts very little so I'm not sure if this would be very meaningful and would also force the player to always auto-resolve or stay in a town/castle when they're pregnant if they're playing as a female character so it might not be the best thing to add.
    Thats pretty much what i do with female lords in my clan if they are with child they stay in a city and i do that is my player is female.

    Yeah I really didn't like the wound system in VC, but deteriorating stats would be much better Bannerlord as you get older especially now that we have a character retirement system in the game. It could be an optional feature which results in a few random events as you pass some age milestones like when you turn 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, etc. you have a chance to get Sarcopenia (-1 attribute points and -40 skill points & skill point cap in vigor), arthritis for the same thing in Control, chronic joint pain for endurance, .... something for cunning and endurance, dementia for intelligence and whatnot. This would make the retirement much more significant. There could even be stuff like randomly getting pneumonia and having a chance of dying or -2 in endurance, but that wouldn't really be fun imo.

    You can even enhance this further and give culture specific illnesses to characters like Behcet's disease for the Khuzait, Mediterranean familial fever for the Aserai, etc. with specific effects that enhance the differences between the cultures, but that might be overkill.
    I like the sound of this so illnesses would kill you some would make retirement an option. I would like to retire to governor status and have the old guy still around a wile instead of the disappearing hermit. As for wounds in battle i think the death chance is 2% maybe 3% gets you a scar it doesn't have to reduce stats.

    Fatigue (ie RBM posture) works in smaller fights - but once you get to those 1000v1000 masses, it's more interrupting than a fun gameplay feature. I think RBM did it to give some balance back against the armor effectiveness changes otherwise those battles would take even longer than they already do vs vanilla. I'm guessing it's hard to mod BL so AI uses kicks and shield bashes? I haven't come across a mod yet for that.
    If there was a stamina system it would have to effect everyone and not reduce speed to much but lower damaged a bit and maybe new tired combat animations. But it shouldn't effect until like 10mins constant fighting. Maybe should out breath animations and audio. Then when your men have just finished a big fight and then you notice another wave coming it would feel more immersive and if you win would feel a bit more epic when many your men celebrate with tried animations.

    Fatigue was used in Viking Conquest and it was horrible. All it did was drag out fights and make fighting on horseback a necessity for the pc. It sounds like a great idea on paper but imo it's probably the worst idea that was ever introduced into a M&B game.
    I would like to the wound system from VC as you could got to a healer to fix you but you could also get some great battle scars. I didn't like fatigue that much, If effected everyone i would have loved it but player only it didn't work.

    I am using the king slayer mod its on steam workshop and works on 1.2.0 just fine and i have set deaths to 8%. Started my playthrough in sandbox at 18years my character is now 76years old. People are getting killed but not in mass numbers and people still die of old age. This percentage hasn't ruin my playthrough. If anything its made to world more surprising and interesting . I keep running into battle with my Viking hoping for Valhalla but he's a beast and only lost 2 battle been knocked out in battle loads but death wont take him. 4 adult children and loads of grandchildren. Best Armour and perks make death almost impossible to die.

    1.2 = No Wars = Boring

    A bug or a mod you have installed.
    In my game wars are a constant for every faction, it's a miracle when my faction isn't involved in a war with someone for more than 1 single day (and even then, there would be a rebellion ongoing).
    Wish there were longer periods of peace to be honest. Not too much cause there's hardly any content aside from wars, but sometimes you wish you could have a breather to sort things out with your fiefs that you can't without having to visit them physically (wish they would implement a way to send letters to your governor to have access to the "manage fief" from remote).
    This is my experience too. 1 days peace the war , war ,war . i am sick of it.
