  1. Balance for Archers and Cav

I think a useful archer nerf would be to increase the time they need to release another arrow and to nerf their melee abilities slightly. Khans Guard is a prime example of this.
They can shoot very fast, so with the accuracy of bows in this game, they can kill most people who try to rush them in a 1 vs 1. And when they get caught in melee, their glaive gives them good clutch potential, even against multiple opponents.
If you increase the time they need to release another arrow (even slightly), taking down rushing opponents would become more difficult and would make shooting from longer ranges using the accuracy more appealing (which also will make it more difficult). By making their melee worse (not bad, but worse than now), playing archer would have a drawback. Right now its basically playing infantry with a range bonus.
  2. Balance for Archers and Cav

i hope you guys never get to balance a mp game
    I agree.
  3. What's your favourite weapon?

Menavlion, because who needs a weapon that's not op?
  4. Should Recruits be Buffed?

Giving shields to recruits would be a good idea. Higher tier inf should get a buff by making armor work.
    +1
  5. Should Recruits be Buffed?

I agree, medieval drafted soldiers were most of the time given basic equipment. There is just no reason to see guys in plain shirts (some carrying farming tools) and no helmets running around on a battlefield. They should be given basic equipment: a cheap helmet, a spear, and a shield.
That would set a basic and realistic standard, especially when you take into a count that the Village Militias (who mainly exist to protect the law and keep looters away) in this game are way better equipment then recruits for an army supposed to fight field battles.
  6. Why is there no plate exactly ?

Both points are true, but bending accuracy a bit by having it Made of steel and including it isn't so far off and fits much better than plate. That said, there are already armour pieces Made of bronze/brass in the game that are higher rated than some steel pieces. And the leather armours are also rather inaccurate since there is literally no proof for the it and good leather for a half decent armour would be way more expensive than an equally good or better gambeson (which are rated really Bad in Bannerlord.... Poor Gambeson).

That said... Yes to lorica plumata!
Well, I have not really paid attention if there is leather "amour" again, but leather amour did exist, there is proof. But most historians think they were rare (Brian Price being the exception), and most leather amours were for the limbs, not the torso, but there are a few pieces that survived to this day. But that's a whole rabbit hole to go into.
And yes, Gambesons are underrated, which is sad.

But I think we are going off-topic.
  7. Which factions are the strongest and weakest in your game?

For me it went like this:
Western Empire got Steamrolled by a Joint Taskforce of Vlandian and Battanians.
Sturgia lost nearly everything to Battania, their capital went to the Southern Empire.
Soon after, the Southern Empire got ROFL-stomped by the Khuzaits.
Northern Empire was taken by Vlandians as well.
Aserai are chilling in the desert.

And now I'm conquering the Aserai to expand my own Kingdom.
  8. Bows are WAY too accurate.

Hopefully you get multiplayer bows then.

While i agree that the skillpoints should matter a little more in some way, the difference between a crappy 80-accuracy bow and a 90ish nordic shortbow is very well noticeable if not only riding in front of looters and shoot them in the face at almost-point-blank distance.
Then all bows feel equal ofc.

(Can't say anything about multiplayer, not playing it.)
The difference in bows should not be accuracy, but (in my opinion at least) in damage and arrow drop. The weaker bows should make less damage against amour and the arrows should not be able to travel as long.
  9. Bows are WAY too accurate.

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance there was no reticle. Ever. In that game practice mattered.
Yeah, but Archery in KC: D was portrayed really bad. You had no way of aiming, you head to guess the middle of the screen. If you ever shot a bow in your life, you know that is not how it works.

I think the problem is that accuracy is nowhere linked to bow skill.
    I'm under the same impression.
  10. Why is there no plate exactly ?

The answers to this is pretty simple, I'd say.
The game needs lorica musculata, or the muscle cuirass. BAM, historically near-fitting armour for the Empire AND as close as it gets to a plate breast armour as possible without being plate.

    Also, those Abs!
I am not an expert on roman amour, but my 2 cents:
    1. Was lorica musculata not out of use by a rather long time when the eastern empire declined?
    2. To my knowledge, lorica musculata was made out of bronze, not steel or iron. This would make it rather weak in comparison.

Also, why would you want Abs when you could look like a bird? Lorica plumata is where it's at.
  11. Why is there no plate exactly ?

As a big fan of plate amour myself (especially northern Italian white amour), I will just wait for a mod that brings the late middle ages to Calradia. I would not want them to add it into Native because I appreciate the style they are going for, and while I do not mind anachronism, it would just break the visual style of the game, to see Vlandian Knights in plate amour (since they are the closest to western European Kingdoms visually) trample over anything in their way.

Also, real plate amour is insanely strong, this could prove an issue balancing wise since you would have either to give all Factions plate or buff up their high-tier lamellar/mail stuff (which would just feel weird if it is as good as plate).
  12. Captain mode need to be rebalanced

In my experience, this is the list of Nations from strongest to weakest:
    1. Khuzait
At first, they seemed underwhelming until people started the Khans Guards and cavalry spam. Any sort of enemy infantry will die once they get surrounded by archers. This is especially easy on the desert map. Enemy cavalry will loose some horses in the hailstorm of arrows and the one that get to the Khans Guard will be chopped to pieces by the knock-off Naginata. To quote a player from a game of captain-mode I played: "Khuzait feel just like cheating."

    2. Sturgians
The infantry is a bit weird. You get the 16 Varyags. Why should you pick the brigands where you get the same amount of troops? The same goes for cavalry, both weak and strong cav get the same amount of soldiers. Why? Why would anyone pick the weaker one? I think the number of soldiers for Sturgia must be adjusted, I don't think the reason for them being so strong are the troops itself.

    3. Empire
They got both, good cavalry, good heavy infantry. I think they are (together with Vlandia), the most well rounded factions, which makes them appear pretty good, but I think they are the middle-ground that should be aimed for in balancing the rest.

    4. Vlandia
I think this is the middle-ground the other factions should be adjusted to. I don't think anything is way too weak or way too strong.

    5.Battania
Weak infantry, the cavalry is a joke. Fiaans are the best they got, but against any shield infantry not so good since flanking with them is quite a challenge because they are infantry. Oathsworns are okay but will loose to Legionaries and the like. The Savages are the biggest joke out of their trooptree. They lose against Berserkers all the time. Realy, really hard. They got 3 amour (improved 12), while Berserkers have 15 which goes up to 24 with improved amour.

    6.Aserai
The only faction I see Battania regularly win against. Their best melee infantry does not have shields. They get slaughtered by archers. All units they have are okay, but nothing more.
  13. own kingdom.

Same, I went negative at the start but now its rolling in nicely.. just wish I could stop that stupid quest to stop the rumour or what ever it is that keeps failing..
Yeah, the Conspiracy Quest ist not really implemented I think, its annoying me as well. Does anyone know what happens when it reaches 2000?
  14. own kingdom.

Just be mindful that some players (including me) encountered a "No Influence Gain" issue by creating their own Kingdom.

I'm actually unsure if some players managed to create their own Kingdom AND have influence working. On my end, whatever I do and whatever the game tells me, my influence stays at 0.
I made my own Kingdom and I am swimming in Influence, it works for me just fine. I just had 1 Bug were I suddenly had negative Influence, but that went away.
  15. own kingdom.

Which is something the game does not tell you.
I kind of disagree, when you finish the first 2 Quests, which should happen pretty fast, the Quest tells you what to do if you want your own Kingdom. But yes, I would also like to just start my Kingdom independent from the Quest (just like you could in Warband).
  16. Resolved Couched Lance sometimes don't work

Summary: Since the last update, many lances cannot be couched any longer, including the one I used till then (Fine Steel Menavlion), I am not sure if this is intended. Furthermore, I found 1 working Lance, but when I spawn with it, it is not couchable until I switched to my second weapon and...
