Check all the values of the armors, especially the shields, they don't make sense.

I have also edited the upgrade trees to give more evolution to the bandit troops, which can go from looter to bandit boss, for example. All the bandit troops end up in their own bandit boss, and I have put horses on them (which they did not have), except for the forest bandits, who have put a good bow on them. Poachers also advance towards the tree of the forest bandits, for example (before they did not advance towards anything).

Making mods for others is much more complicated than editing the game files on your computer and I don't feel like learning. So I have not published it on nexus. I could put the files for people to overwrite, but it's very seedy, mods aren't like that. Besides the edited Item Fixer file I don't have permission to publish it either. It's a shame, because I have a great game right now, with a few mods, not too many, but well chosen, which give it a very different and more interesting feeling.

I've long since edited it myself in spitems, because if it wasn't fixed from the start, how easy it is, I knew it wasn't going to be fixed in a long time. I also have the mod item fixer for prices (because I was lazy to change them all), and the prices that did not touch from the mod, I changed them. And the values of the armor in the mod I also touched up to my liking. Right now I have a game with very consistent armor, shield and price values.

Why aren't there good armor anywhere?

I started a new game with mods, because at the beginning the vanilla is entertaining, you see all the new things and you entertain yourself. But at one point, when you've already made yourself an important kingdom, all those inconsistencies in armor and the economy frustrate you quite a bit.

Right now I'm playing with Looteverything and when you reach tier 2 the mail armor unlocks in the loot. You should know that in tier 1 the mail armor is simply locked. It doesn't matter if you defeat Rhagaea's army with tier 1, you won't even get armor.

Now if you defeat a bandit chief, you will have their mail armor. So that the game is not overpowered, in addition to multiplying by ten the cost of upgrade troop (an armor that any tier 4 troop wears is still much more expensive), I look at the troop tree and if the troop wears mesh armor, I drop a mesh armor from my inventory, just like a horse spends when upgrading a cavalry troop. If I don't have mail armor, I don't upgrade the troop. And for the lamellar armor troops I plan to do the same (I haven't advanced to tier 5-6 yet, now all of that is much slower and more realistic)

And in this way, I am having a much more entertaining and consistent game. In addition to many other mods that have already come out and are very, very interesting. They change the gaming experience a lot, and for the better.

Good armor can't be accessed in-game, it's a fact. Is this because there is autolevel? It is the only idea I can think of. What is it, for the clan tier, for the player level? Please leave the autolevel for Bethesda, we want a persistent world. There is nothing more frustrating than killing 200...

    Smithing hurts my finger :(

There is a smith in my game, so you are right. Its beta version.

    Good to know this

    Create your own hideout

Well, I already said it in the title, like in Viking Conquest
  11. Hachaman

Recruit in hideouts, looting parties, bandit parties.

Maybe one of those looters running away from you prefers to work for a living wage instead of running around in rags robbing the orchards. If you have a low level of honor, and enough cruelty, perhaps in hideouts there are people who want to join your party. Many people would like to play...

Does anyone know at what point good armor starts even appearing in the game?

Never (I've been playing for more than 100 hours). They say you have to open a blacksmith store to have them ... it's absurd. In looting you will never get any, and in the cities, neither. But it is enough to kill 15 parties of looters, so that your seargent crosbowman will have a max level lamellar armor, as if by magic.

    Smithing hurts my finger :(

There are engineers, rogues, I think a blacksmith is the next step. But I wouldn't worry too much, I think the game is designed so that there is a blacksmith hero (on the blacksmith screen it lets you select the character). They just haven't done it yet. Neither have they developed functions for the roguery, nor for the general (expert in tactics), although in the game the heroes are, so the logical thing is that they do it.

    Gear prices Idea

Another thing I was thinking of is if you kill 10 enemy's or capture them, you would receive 10 gear setups too. So this would balance out the cost a bit. You could sell used gear and then upgrade your troops with the profits

Another (simpler) option is to make the game's looting work at last (because it sucks right now), and give you a fair amount of armor. So, to upgrade a heavy armor soldier, it could ask you for the item, just like it asks you for the horses when you upgrade cavalry. p. ex: upgrade seargent crosbowman -> you need 1000 denars and a piece of "heavy armor", or "armor tier 6", whatever you want.

This would be a much easier mod to do.

Anyway, I also think that the best armor in the game shouldn't be in the soldiers, no matter how good they are. They are soldiers. Either they put the lamellar armor at a reasonable price and in all markets, or they remove them from the soldiers. But a soldier cannot wear armor that the character cannot find on the market. Maybe a noble yes, but not a soldier.

I had thought (and I think this is an idea for a medium-advanced level mod, but not difficult) that you can get an item called "gear" from the loot when you kill high tier soldiers. This gear (p. ex: "gear heavy armor", "gear tier 5"...) should be necessary to upgrade your soldiers to high tier. If you don't get gear in battle, you could also buy them in cities. P. ex: "gear infantry tier 5", 1000 denars.

And for the upgrade it would work the same as the requirement of "horses" for the cavalry soldiers.

Because right now, killing looters you end up having a seargent crosbowman, but I do not know where that man has obtained neither the lamellar armor, nor the crossbow. Attacking looters surely not, and with the denars that I have paid him, neither.

    Gear prices Idea

Damn that sounds nice, yeah that makes sense to me too, thats rich people armor

I've been trying, but without a troop editor like the warband it's crazy, because I don't know the exact name of the items. At first it seemed that they had the same name as in the game, p. ex: northern_lamellar_armor, but then I noticed that there are armors that do not have the same name. So I'm not going to be able to do it ... I'm looking forward to a troop editor being released to fix all the absurdities in the game.

    Gear prices Idea

Why have equipment be so expensive?

I was thinking a cool way they could take it would be to make all gear much more affordable but when you upgraded your troops you would have to pay for their new gear. You would need to stop at a main town to upgrade them since they need to go shopping. I always thought it was funny paying 25-100gold and my troop comes back with 1000-50000 gold worth of new gear.
I have thought exactly the same, in fact there is a mod that allows you to edit the price of upgrades, and I have put 10 times more than in the original. Still, I'm going to edit the troops so tier 5-6 wears good armor, but not the 500,000 denar lamellar armor. I think those should only be for the nobles.

looting your prisoners, bigger ramsom from prisoners

I put this thread here because I think this it is more for a mod than the vanilla game. If you have a prisoner and you're going to sell it to a bounty hunter, I think if he wears something of value, you take it away, I think. Right now, you sell a prisoner for 100 denars, who is carrying...
