  1. Elite unit caps

Armies of elites do steamroll if you are half good at the game. Creating your own kingdom is easy. I do use mods. The challenge is gone pretty quickly once you have a couple towns even with a few clan parties. My idea was to more closely mimic feudalism where knights were only drawn from a small section of society and much of the rest of any army was drawn of less well armoured, trained and equipped troops.
  2. Changes to recruitment and play style

I have been thinking about the game and how it could gain more depth. I would like to suggest a few changes to the way in which the game operates which I think would make it much more immersive. My suggestion is that you begin the game with a few realistic options which are effected by the...
  3. Elite unit caps

Another suggestion I would like to make is in relation to elite units. One of the issues which I have eluded to in my previous suggestion is the ability to create large armies of elite units. Once you have this it is very easy to destroy anyone that comes at you. I wonder whether it would be...
  4. Army size, kingdom politics, sieges

While I recognise that Bannerlord cant be everything, I think the developers would agree that the game is first and foremost a medieval war and battle simulator. The biggest problem with this aspect of the game is that once you have an elite army and lots of money it is far too easy to win every...
  5. More battle scenes

I would like it if you added in more scenes for battles. For example, If you arrive at a castle/ town under siege you arrive behind enemy lines with the siege on going and have to break the enemy to relieve the garrison. If you arrive at a battle that is underway you have to rush to save...
  6. "Can not get access from your platform service"

So i cant test the beta and play MP that is kinda annoying though just saying
  7. "Can not get access from your platform service"

Ah that will be it! I thought it was just all the same in multiplayer my bad!
  8. Beta Patch Notes e1.4.1

It would be kinda cool if there weren't really any wars for the first year or so apart from between the empires maybe. And if in general a declaration of war was like a big event.

Maybe rather than having concurrent wars all the time it might be a bit more common for factions to pick sides in a war, resulting in 2 v 2's or 2 vs 1 sometimes. Not all the time of course but just as something that might happen!

I guess this could be achieved by alliances, but also an option to 'join war against' as a barter option which the AI and maybe mercenaries could use as well.
  9. "Can not get access from your platform service"

Hope so... feel like its been almost 24 hours at this point.. First time it happened thought nothing off it but starting to wonder now. I uninstalled the game yesterday and installed it again today. Switched to 1.4.1 before i did that to start another run. Pve is working ok although im getting these odd flickers on the screen ive never seen before (5-600 hours in) and the MP wont work lol!
  10. "Can not get access from your platform service"

If it helps i think it started when i reinstalled the game
  11. "Can not get access from your platform service"

Yeh i thought it was weird was expecting to see it as a common problem on the forums but apparently just me! Thanks anyway man.. Will let you know if it gets resolved!
  12. "Can not get access from your platform service"

Ok i tried like 20 times and nothing. It just says more or less immediately that they cant access the platform service (steam presumably?)
  13. "Can not get access from your platform service"

  14. "Can not get access from your platform service"

  15. Beta Patch Notes e1.4.1

Hey everyone, we just shared another hotfix for the beta branch. It includes the following
    • Fixed the campaign map defender siege engine positions for the level 2 version of Medeni castle. This should resolve crashing for cases where the player initiates a siege against a level 2 version of the castle.
    • Fixed an issue that caused corrupted save files to crash the game on load screen.
    • Fixed an issue with the final perk of the 1-handed and 2-handed skills.
    • Fixed a bug that caused the diplomacy system to have multiple relations between kingdom pairs. This should alleviate some problems with short war and truce periods.
    • On average about 30% of towns and 50% of castles were experiencing issues with starvation. To improve this situation, settlements with less food now offer higher prices so caravans distribute food better. Village food production was also increased from 4/8/12 to 5/10/15 and consumption of beer in settlements now gives a bonus to food stores. Furthermore, garrisons grow to a lesser degree if a settlement has fewer or smaller villages. With these changes starvation was reduced to 10% of towns and 20% of castles - which mostly occurs in cases of hostile actions like raids and sieges.
    • Influence awards of some policies were adjusted to reduce influence inflation across kingdoms.
    • Effects of daily default projects for settlements were reduced.
    • Several minor fixes for AI war and peace declarations.
Thankyou TW! More info on what might be added over the next months would be appreciated greatly at some point!
  16. RIP MP

I know they will make a persistent world mod. i still think its just a really odd idea in a game based around roleplaying and creating characters that you cant create one in MP... It just makes no sense to me!
  17. RIP MP

Let's not forget that "meaningful choices" also means literally nothing, ironically enough. What are they trying to say with that? My choice to trade armour for a sword isn't "meaningful" in any way that I can think of. Amongst classes, there are two kinds of situation with perks.

    1) A clear meta which you can't avoid picking (Empire Legionnaires and Pila, shields on most starter classes, etc)
    2) Changes which mean literally nothing for gameplay and therefore aren't "meaningful" in any sense (berserker axes, peasant weapons, etc)

Either way, your choices are either meaningless, or actively harmful to you. This isn't friendly to new or casual players who want to actually explore their interests (imagine someone picking Sturgian huntsman... yikes). It doesn't benefit competitive play, as hard metas are boring and bland to watch and play. And it doesn't give people a chance to play how they want.

Conversely, a warband-like system actually lets you make meaningful choices. Giving people gold and telling them to budget a combination gives them agency in developing a build. You, as a player, can decide what handicaps you'll accept, and what strengths you want to play to. That is infinitely more meaningful than, as Younes excellently put it: "pick[ing] the perk you like the most even though you hate all of them."

The difference between Warband and Bannerlord is like this: Warband's system gave you $100 and told you to buy whatever you wanted. Bannerlord offered you a choice between a pair of socks and a turnip. I know which one seems more meaningful and fun to me.
Completely disagree with this... And tbh so do most people thats why the multiplayer has failed.. The whole fun in multiplayer for me would be building up your characters skills and gear over time and playing with the same people on a regular basis.

I dont really care about an even contest all the time, its role play, if you have fought a lot you would be better at it and have better gear.. I love their being a real difference between the noobs and the vets it encourages you to get better...

Deathmatch and capture the flag are so boring after a while especially when you have to choose between the units in the SP it makes no sense. In SP i can play as my own character with my own gear and skills but not in MP? Why would anyone think that would work..

I want to join a guild and level various characters to fight against others in field and siege battle in an open world.. That would fit with the rest of the game!
  18. Sound(s) overhaul!

I asked a couple days ago about sound but so far no response!

I agree town and village sounds are a must and surely its not that difficult to start introducing at least some sounds.

Also the people need voice acting! When will you begin working on this TW? Can we expect any sound (other than the 4+ music tracks) anytime soon?
  19. RIP MP

I feel like for the multiplayer to be attractive to SP players has to:

Involve specific characters that you level (so you might have an archer, a two handed berserker etc), they have a name, gear and skill load out that you have built up over time. they mean something to you and your enemies/friends

A specific faction your character is in, something you are fighting for with your allies against your enemies (personal relations). This was great in ESO

And a continuous world that you are fighting over, where ownership of a castle, town actually means something.

Without that its just mindless killing, fun for a while but I cant invest anything in it and don't develop any relations with anyone i fight with, the server even kicks you and then you come back on the other team during siege.
  20. Beta Patch Notes e1.4.1

We identified an issue that may cause this in some cases, but it did not quite make this hotfix.

Are there plans to add voice acting any time soon? And where in the list of priorities are more quests? and specifically unique quests that relate to things like player action, culture, skill loadout, reputation, ownership, traits.

For example honourable/ generous characters might attract quests from simple people who need someone to help them (from a cruel lord or a bandit chief for example). Rogue based characters would be part of a criminal network so would get quests relating to that. When you have fiefs you would get quests related to managing them. If you were a tournament champion you might get to participate in a questline related to that etc,etc.. Immersion is what we need! Sounds, characters and quests to bring the world to life!
