• Can't make peace. I get the green barter bar but they just take the money and I am still at war.
• Can't get married (probably because I need a faction to do this?)
• Can't complete the "Create a non-imperial kingdom" quest.

I have played as independent all the time. I have all the requirements. I have tried the "join a faction and leave" solution.
I have saved games from 23/5 (in game day 47 level 11) to 2/6 (in game day 163 level 15).

Should I restart a 1.4.0 game or wait for a patch that will fix it?

I am having this problem too; I fulfill all the required needs, try to get Arzagos to give my license for my own kingdom, but instead of advancing the storyline when I report to him that I am making my own kingdom, all that happens is my character says " I'm still working on it." instead of Arzagos saying something like "Congratulations, Bannerlord! You are now a King!" (and then I should have my own kingdom.) I just get an endless loop of ' I'm still working on it'. Drat!

Additionally, when I use the 'create Kingdom' button, it makes multiple Kingdoms of mine, which then declare war on each other! Weird!!!
