    I was going for Liena, I'm doing a pure Vlandian playthrough, so I'm only marrying Vlandian women and recruiting their troops only. I passed all my checks with Liena and then joined an army with her. Silvind was in there and so I spoke to her and seen the phrase, "So, um...about marrying you" and thought that was weird. I then spoke with Liena and seen that same option and clicked on it and she said, "Sorry but we are not compatible." I passed all checks with her and she was down to marry me and even told me to speak with Aldric. I reloaded and seen it wasn't there anymore, but then spoke to Aldric, the clan leader, and he would only let me marry Meganhelda. I reloaded and enabled cheat mode to force the marriage and the console said that our marriage together is not compatible. I deleted the character because I wanted to respec my focus points anyways.

    If it happens again I'll definately keep what you did in mind!

    maybe that’s something I can ask for console players, single player cheats. All we got is exploits at the moment lol … makes me not want to report exploits if they get fixed lol. Am I bad guy for that? I love the single player game but sometimes I just wanna have it my way.

    I fixed the problem without knowing I fixed the problem.

    Once I gave up on my love, and knew there was no hope for me to ever marry her. I went and found the 3rd best Battania wife , and happen to be in eregons clan. I was like “ great, he didn’t acknowledge my first attempt, only my brother, but not me, he hates me “ …but I go anyway, I talk to him and low and behold, the option for my true love was there …

    So apparently I had to seek another wife of the same clan to get my original one I wanted ..

    Your welcome.. a fix till it’s really fixed.

    As a matter of fact , his daughter belongs to my brother lol. I did notice her, I kind of check them all out before I just get desperate and want anything. But thanks for the information, it may help future players

    You’re right, that woman. Took a lot of time to get her to want to wife me, but the game bugged so I have to wait for her… talk about true love lol. And yeah I went by stats and her age was surprisingly young .

    I went culture Battania, and besides my brother, I need good governors, she looked like the best candidate for that culture with a lot of pre skills .. her and coerin or something like that are probably best wives… which I got my brother with her, but my character is bugged with the other at this point.

    First work on your charm 75-100 minimum.
    Look at what traits your lady has. It has a small effect. With high charm it does not matter.
    While you grind up the charm, always keep an eye on the gamelog if she or her clan leader gets captive. If you can free them from jail. It helps alot in a matter of price.
    About the reload of saves for the courting. I have done that alot to. Sometimes up to 50 times in a row. If she is in a settlement it can take forever, like one gets frustrated at the game. It tends to go better when she is leading a party so one must move a little before the conversation.

    Best way to get your charm up is to marry away a family member. Why this is given i don´t understand.

    I appreciate your tips there buddy. But at this point the marriage thing is bugged. Because I finally got the woman to want to marry me . The woman I ranted about here. And after all my frustration that I clearly had and even shared with this community here, she tells me to talk to Eregon of Battania, so I go and talk to him , he doesn’t even bring up the topic of marriage nor can I, and I go back to talk to her , the game now registers it as I had critical failed and she’s no longer interested… so yeah, after all that time to get into her panties, this happened… I’m so upset with this game, today will be the first day in 3 months since I’ve gotten it, that I won’t play it today… I’m that mad … and I need to cool down before I load up and find something else wrong.

    Same happened with me about 2 hours ago. I passed all checks and was told to speak with the clan leader to arrange the marriage. I spoke to her again and then all of a sudden I can't marry her now because it registered as me failing the persuasion checks. I spoke to her clan leader and I don't have the option to speak to him about marrying her or any one in the clan. It is super frustrating that this game does stupid things like this on a consistent basis.

    Now I will have to lose about 3 hours of progress if I want to reload just to marry her. This game really has its moments of being pure asinine.

    I’m glad it’s not just me then because that’s exactly what happened to me, just my future wife created an army after she told me to speak to Eregon of Battania, I go but he doesn’t even acknowledge a marriage.. not even brought up or I’m able to talk about it. So I go back to Lagunda or whatever her name is of Battania, she’s in army now, but won’t talk about marriage… so I wait till after army , then talk but nope!!! Even though I passed to get into her panties, the game gave me the second chance option, and she’s totally uninterested..

    Not sure what’s going on, but for some reason I can pass any chat below a 30% chance… every time .. but anything above 60% I critical fail , or thanks to “ grievances “ or whatever, I avoid the critical… but never pass it … and it’s only two options with both options being a 12%chance to...

    I noticed some of my war parties don’t turn in prisoners, unless I add them to my army and we go into a town. I think what causes this, is after the battle they go recruit the losses first … and since there are more villages than towns, and more likely to be closer to a village than town to do...

    I figured I was starving a town out that way also. But my own caravans entered it, whether it was my own I formed, or the towns I own… for some reason, they go into enemy towns … if an enemy lord is in the town my guy enters, he’s immediately captured… which is an issue in itself with caravans and enemy territory. But the town never starved because of my own or town owned caravans.. which I was like “ no don’t supply them !” But I can’t stop it lol. I play on console if that means anything. So for me to truly starve that town without sacrificing relationship with raiding , I just dont invest in a town or caravans , because they come in that war zone like some heroes or something… but they do make profit since mine are the only ones who enter and leave lol despite me trying to starve them

    Also what happens when you decide to leave them alone after you farmed them like this for a while is: they flock to the same village or whatever they own, all of them, and sit in there till they all get enough recruits to move on.. the thing is.. there isn’t enough recruits for all of them , so they’ll make camp until that day comes which further more stops their rise in power… they’re dead without being dead lol , they’ll die of old age before they get their army to a certain point to move on.

    But yeah I think the game is miscalculating what’s happening.. and think the militia will help, but doesn’t.

    It doesn’t matter how big or small your army / party is.     I know, I figured that part out. I was really trying to understand why the perks are available to choose for your main character, if they don’t work passively or they don’t work because your main character cannot be a governor. Why is it even an option? Is where I’m getting at.
