Also random thoughts on the mega post
Attack Moves
I think the way they cRPG mod eventually implemented bashes(nudges) for Warband was much more interesting, because they were directional and had some varying properties at least: different speed and push values, also i remember some 1h\offhand free nudge could knock you down if you were backpedalling. That might be a bit too much, but the potential for different properties was clearly visible. Also they felt better, more impactful somehow.
Weapon sweetspots
Regarding duration until collision starts - right now there is no collision at all in the beginning of some swings, it feels awful, you immediately get a feeling of disconnect from your character when you just swing though someone's head if you turned too much or he ran into your swing too fast. When coupled with very chaotic movement it happens way too often.
I assume the idea was to actually make fighting next to walls, etc. easier, but i honestly think weapons should start colliding almost immediately as release starts, just deal no damage until the same point in animation as it is now, because not having actual feedback for what you see on the screen is just that bad.
Rewarding blocking
Getting some advantage with the very last moment block Sekiro-style just feels too good to not go for it, it might be mechanically interesting to reward held blocks but i think it will just feel pretty strange and unintuitive
Block Lag
Right now there is limited block lag, nothing as severe as mordhau, which feels awfully unresponsive to any warband player because of that.
But i think the removal of ridiculous warband-style feinting requires blocks to not be instantaneous, i definitely dont want to participate in 5 minute long duels anymore.
Tying block delay to your previous action is a pretty good idea, but only if animation reflects it properly. There should be some visible change at least in animation playrate, or it will never be clear to people on an intuitive level why is there a delay and how long is it.
Customization
Tbh, the class system is the only thing i really, seriously hate in the beta. I think mordhau-like system would be better even for competitive mode, as the amount of enjoyment you get from playing with your own character is just so much more. Would be more difficult to balance, but come on, this game isnt going to have 5mil USD prize pool tournaments anyway.
