  1. Fog of War

This isn't Dark Souls, this game is a power fantasy you're suppose to get op at some point. Second if they didn't want players power gaming why would they leave in exploits like smithing? It trivializes making money and you can literally buy every settlement if you want. The reason that this system is so bad is because no one at Taleworlds thought about the ramifications of making such a change. My guess is they saw some complaints and said hey here's an easy fix and this is the end product.

For me there's nothing wrong to add a little bit of RNG to the game. Players acting like having subpar companions will crush in pieces your campaign while it is not by any stretch of imagination. I 100% agree this feature needs more work but i can understand why it is there.
  2. Fog of War

It can be a good addiction to spice up a little bit the replay value of the game. You need some how to accept some bad companion, then maybe you find a good one and you change it, feeling yourself lucky. It adds some RNG, which is ok in a game you usually do more than one campaign. They probably don't want players to power gaming too much by choosing always the best possible option to optimize your party/clan. I'm fine with that, i mean the idea is not bad. But if the implementation is not fully fleshed out it can be a problem. For example, if you get a marriage proposal what about having some text to describe your potential wife attributes, skills and traits ? You don't have numbers but at least you have an idea ( so you get RNG without leaving the player completely blind ).
  3. Bringing up log from map for console players

If any console players are wondering how to bring up log in bottom corner
Press and hold the encyclopedia button to bring it up then while holding it press the close button after it closes then release the button been trying to figure out forever

    Note
Not sure if posted elsewhere but figure I would put it out there for the info
Thanks a lot for that !
  4. [v 1.1.0 BETA] Hero FoW was a bad idea

I didn't test the patch yet, but i'm thinking about the narrative side of the game. Part of the story telling is strictly tied with the in-game wiki, it's a tool to check lineages and rebuild the story of a family/clan, not only skill/perks. Then it's your own immagination that creates narrative around it. In your opinion this change has an impact narrative wise ?
  5. How can castles be made important in your opinion?

Even something "simpler" would be nice like for every castle bounded with a town you get +100 garrison and +100 militia. Also you get a bonus to refill garrison/militia 50% faster in that town. Also some type of patrol unit which deals with brigands.
  6. Bannerlord on Game Pass and still a mess

It is just as you said.
Leaving it and returning after two or maybe three years would be wise.
The game might get stable, but I am pessimistic about the console version, for it likely will not support installing any modules.
You may get DLCs in the future, but it's not 100% sure they would release on consoles. I am sure you noticed that Warband DLC had yet to be released on either PlayStation or Xbox.

They already said that every game content will be on consoles as well. On PS5/Series X the game needs some optimization but it is not in a bad shape. The problem is on older consoles, but i don't see any valid reason to spread pessimism
  7. Patch Notes v1.0.2

So after about ten hours i found the tweaks on IA behaviour regarding war/peace pretty interesting. It seems wars last much longer, opening some challenging scenario in resource management, the IA now don't ask immediatly for peace, it's a bit more resilient but still call for a break if it starts to struggle. In my last war campaign i literally drain half of my influence, to the point i was thinking about disband my army. Probably in my next war i'ill play a support-role only, maybe joining some IA army or chasing some small rabid dogs pack. Which is nice from time to time.
  8. Resolved Wife is losing Relation points for no apparent reason (currently at -28)

My guess is she is not liking if you are pillaging or being merciful after a siege or you are pillaging a village.

My wife is Corein, Caladog's daughter. If i'm merciful after conquering a castle i got a malus. She hates me and pretty much every tournament i got blasted by this battanian demon. What i don't understand is if spousing a daughter's king just from the beginning works as intended or should i get more renown in order to do that.
  9. Patch Notes v1.0.2

Mate, don't talk nonsense. There are an infinite number of threads you can read that don't talk about mods or have more focus on the vanilla game. Go start a thread and talk about the AI changes if you want, I'm sure it won't get much traction because, well, it's not that significant and frankly is still broken.

Modding in Bannerlord is one of TW and the customer's main focus of the game. It was the reason fo their huge success with previous releases. It's why we have Bannerlord today. They built Bannerlord around the capability of being able to mod it. That is why people are pissed about the mods constantly being broken every hotfix. There is no TW as your see today without modders. Most of the mods people use aren't total conversation mods, they're mods that fix the broken mechanics or put in the missing features of the game. So when TW come along with a hotfix no one knew was coming, with bug fixes for bugs that were brought in from the previous hotfix, you can surely understand why mods are talked about so often.

They had a leg to stand on during EA saying the game isn't stable enough for mods, but it's post release and modders are not going to come back to the game until TW stop being reckless with their patches etc.

TW aren't going to send you a PM, thanking you for white knighting them. They aren't going to reward you for your bravery. They sold us a half-assed game that is still broken. We have been here long enough to know they aren't competent and the current process of development is shocking. Most people still left here are able to help them with that development because they know it's potential, but they would rather cut all communication and continue breaking the game over and over until the people who enjoy a single player experience go the same way the multipayers went.

So they shouldn't patch the game because mods. Brilliant. It's not uncommon to have problems with third party "software" after a patch, that's why even modders update and patch mods. Just wait for a mod-fix by the author and use mods at your own risk: it's a disclaimer that every mod-fan should known very well. That's especially true for a game which was released a month ago, not years.
  10. Patch Notes v1.0.2

    Okay bye then.

I don't even know why on a patch notes thread everyone is crying about mods, to begin with. Every single time. Meanwhile someone has pointed out a major change in how the IA manages wars but of course who cares ? From time to time it would be nice to have a thread in which we can discuss in-topic without scrolling pages of frustation about mods.
  11. Patch Notes v1.0.2

So, AI kingdoms can no more peace their way out of having wars on multiple fronts? Strange shift of direction after spending 2 years trying to balance the map. I spent a few hours on campaign and Western Empire is stuck with warring 3 kingdoms at the same time and they lost 3 settlements already. Sturgia is also having war against 2 and getting demolished. Is this intentional? I’d welcome the change if only AI was capable defending multiple targets simultaneously but all armies simply rush to same target and lose wherever they ignore.
I have noticed the same pattern but i've tested the new update for only 2 hours.
  12. ABOUT COMPANIONS

Well, this is not a bug post, it's a mechanical question post. When we want to see the abilities of the companions on the PS side, do we have to open the encyclopedia or is there a shortcut? When I click on his portrait (I tried many different keys) I can't reach his abilities. Is it necessarily from the book?
It's the same screen in which you level up your character, you can cycle every companion there.
  13. Reading the Console Reviews coming in is simply mind boggling

Everything we see is perspective. Some of you guys are playing this game since the first day of early access, two years ago. Fun, entertainment, can only last so long and after hundred hours it can ends. At the same time, console players jumped now on this train and they're really loving the journey. What i'm saying, everyone is right here. But the moment you start to feel bad, hating the game and who is having fun with it, that's the moment in which you should take a break.
  14. In Progress Missing the Log-Button in the world map

Summary: You can't access the log screen in the world map. How to Reproduce: Scene Name (if related): world map Media (Screenshots & Video): Not strictly a bug but the lack of the log screen ( you can use it only if you plug a keyboard and press "Enter" button ) is quite a problem. Keep in...
  15. Resolved Weird colours in Pen Cannoc

Summary:After entering to "take a walk" in Pen Cannoc at night i've seen strange blue textures. Usually there are also video artifacts, like flashy blue lights all around. Non How to Reproduce: It seems to be random and it happens in other cities as well. Anyway, just wait for the night and take...
  16. Advanced unit commands

Once you select your unit you can alter the line by pressing and drag the right trigger. Anyway, it doesn't work very well. Let me know if it works.
  17. Resolved Wiki direct-link.

Summary: Direct link to the in-game wikipedia while in settlements doesn't work properly. How to Reproduce: Just enter in a Town/Village/Castle and press "select" button on a char portrait in the upper part of the screen: the wiki doesn't open on the right page ( it should be the one related to...
  18. Bannerlord should not have a hard cap on skills

I think it's good to have limitations on building your char, it adds a little bit of replay value in my runs and it helps with roleplaying. You finish having chars with different focus which is pretty much standard in every rpg-like progression system. We should ask for more personality, more identity, more unique chars, not a way to min/max everything. A sandbox game should live on its stories, the numbers are there only to remember who you are. Identity is about differences. We need more, not less.
  19. Need More Info Corrupted Save Files

Hope they fix it ASAP, because it's a game breaking bug. Meanwhile it's probably better to disable autosaving ( you can do it in the option menu ).
  20. Resolved PS4 Mouse and Keyboard support

Mouse and keyboard are not officially supported, but both work pretty well on console.
