***Community Feedback ROADMAP - What Taleworlds still needs to fix!***

At this point, one question is which one of these is likely to be fixed or not at all. Feasts for example seems unlikely and will have to rely on mods.

BL Other (Beginner Question) Is there a way to customize unit equipment quality in the XML?

Is there a way in the game to modify the XMLs of individual units to modify the equipment quality of that unit? To give an example, here is the Banner Knight. Is there a way to change the quality of equipment in the XML? To give an example of the equipment quality (from the Wiki), would...

    * The player needs better ways to increase a settlement's Loyalty.

There's one other thing - the AI should make an attempt to increase a settlement's loyalty as well when they expand. This is especially if they capture settlements of a different culture.

A cool feature might be "covert" missions to try to lower another settlement's loyalty the player's kingdom is at war with. Alternatively, it might be possible to add some sort of "scheme" (think something like what CK3 has) to try to do this. The AI should also try to use these features if they are added.

What bonus should the Dragon Banner give in your opinion?

Major bonuses to the morale of troops because they are supposed to fight for a legendary banner.

How can castles be made important in your opinion?

I made this suggestion over a year ago. Bigger garrison, reduced wages and more xp training. They added a small one with a reduced wage project but it's still not enough. People should want a castle but right now for me they are just fiefs to give away to vassal to get some relation or make companion clans. Another thing that is very disappointing

Yep. There need to be incentives to capture castles.

I would also advocate for making higher tier units recruited more at castles and a special smith that has higher tier weapons and armor of that culture exclusively at castles.

We should be able to own more than one alley/clearing/backstreet in the same town and some other changes to the alley ownership mechanic.

I did make a mistake and misunderstood the developer. You can own as many as you have companions for.

The bottleneck is that unless the plan is to use all companions to hold onto territory, or use a mod to give more companions, there are still limits.

Does the range unit spam continue in 1.1.0?

The only real solution is a major nerf to ranged damage.

Archers do way too much damage against armor, and we'll outside of anything resembling real life.

Fian Champions and Khan's Guard remain the top units in the game until this is addressed.

Updated list to take into account the things in beta release patch r1.1.0 which improved/resolved issues from this list, or implemented features:
What are your thoughts on the progress Taleworlds is making?

They do seem to be adding a bit of new content each patch and it hasn't changed with release.

Why was Old Troop Assignment System removed?

IF the design gets approved, the process would be,
    • Create a new formation
    • Set its slider to 0(there needs to be another formation of the same type)
    • Assign all unassigned(non-captain) heroes to that formation
Now you have an only-hero formation.

I know this wasn't added into release, but I still think that being able to lock certain units into formations and to have only hero formations is something that the game really needs.

It would have to be optional rather than mandatory, with a default being the player can customize with the current system.

Endgame is boring and really kills all the fun...

I personally disagree with many post here saying that warband was better because muh feasts, but while bannerlord is overall much better warband still had some superior designs from time to time. I will keep playing bannerlord over vanilla warband anytime, but I shouldn't have to use so many mods to have a decent late game

    That's the issue though.

There needs to be a lot more content in late game.

best tier for size vs cost

Honest answer. Tier 6 if you are using noble troops, Tier 5 if you are using infantry.

The other issue is that party size is a limit. So the player has an incentive to go for larger parties.

These EASY changes Taleworlds can do to make the game MUCH more fun

Problem: There is no point doing different tactics, because archers and horse archers can win easily. This is because arrows do too much damage to armor. Also, spears are too weak.

I'd flat out say a 50% or even a 75% reduction in effectiveness of arrows vs armor should be done.

    Overhaul mods - stripey thumbnails

Forgot to tag you or send my post as a reply. Hopefully this creates a notification for you. See info above.

Thanks - I get a similar issue with the stripey assets. It is looking like it happens in many mods.

    This game sucks

Why in the world shouldn't people disappointed with the game stick around and try to change it? They should just shrug and say money wasted, time to stop trying? Do you people even "hear" yourselves? How does that even remotely make sense to you?

People love Warband/Mount and Blade. They want to see it be good, to actually succeed, not pass the bare minimum to give a dopamine fix to people who have no problem dropping $60 or more on a game that's riddled with ridiculous amounts of issues. That discussion doesn't make it impossible for you to enjoy the game, it just means they want to make the game you love even better.

This. The reason why people are unhappy is because they are so invested in the game.

People here don't want Taleworlds to fail. They want it to succeed and the way for the game to succeed is to deliver a great game.

There are a lot of issues with the game. I still believe that armor is underpowered and archers overpowered. Late game lacks depth. The game also doesn't feel as alive as it could. There are many more issues.

But the game has fallen short of what people were hoping for.

Let Minor Factions actually fight with their own troops!

At this point, even mods will do it better themselves here.

I've used ATC to specifically make minor factions recruit only their own troops from settlements. Anything else is just the result of prisoners or tavern mercs.

Yeah I think that the mercenary factions should mostly recruit their own troops.

Cavalry AI downgrade in full release ?

Overall the AI needs major improvements in this game. OFten the AI makes "stupid" decisions that do not make tactical sense. Now in the context of this question, the AI was worse pre-1.9, but this is still not a good position to be in.

I would recommend everyone use RBM AI mod for now as it significantly improves the AI.

    Overhaul mods - stripey thumbnails

I would try setting team color on the material of the armor piece itself. When the item gets used by the game code it'll be overriden but it'll have that team color by default when it's not given/set.

How would I do that? Or is that something Taleworlds would do? I think that by default, the "culture color" should be used for the armor pieces.

Or is this something only the author of the mod can do?

    Overhaul mods - stripey thumbnails

Leaving a link here to a previous post.
Apparently it was not an issue before 1.7.2

Yes - I had this issue starting on 1.7.2 as well.

    Overhaul mods - stripey thumbnails

These thumbnails are taken with the default material textures and properties, meaning without applying team color, banner texture etc. I've seen mods that add new equipment not have a problem with the thumbnails, so I would imagine it's case by case and not a general issue.

This seems to be a widespread issue across many mods.

I've tried this with Eagle Rising, Open Source Armory, Blood and Smoke. I think there is an underlying bug of some sort that is preventing the icons from being integrated.

Is there a way to make the icones as well apply the team color, etc? Ex: a way in the XML to give the modder the option to have icons with the team color and banner texture?

Game is patching on Steam...but no patch notes.

It's just a minor hot fix to 1.0.04373. They don't usually give notes on that sort of update.

The main concern for many of us right now is if it breaks mods.
