  2. Twohanders overpowered?

    nothing like that post 2h ganked meat blender rage....i've been there MANY times.

    i would agree that the 2hers need a speed reduction, or at least a delay after being blocked.  right now they are too fast but teh damage output is good
  3. New Update Killed Lancers?

    I actually like being a cav and i like the new update. 

    Lancepoking was, well, silly when it would result in a one-hit kill every time, all the time.  I also agree that cav now works really well as a support unit for infantry.  at least that's where I've had the most success and felt that I've helped the team out the most (battle mode).  Cav still works really well for flanking and for chasing down archers.

    I think one thing that might help cav get over their current lack of stats is to put up an "assists" category.  This would prob help the ego (I know it would for me!) for the cav role of smashing into people, doing some damage, distracting them, then having them eat an axe to the back.

    wow another Knights of Honor player.  Fun game.  I definitively like how once you start to do well, the AI chips in with some random events that loose you cities/advisers.  I also liked the random resource distribution.  Always kept things interesting in terms of which towns you went after. 

    I haven't tried Empire:TW but my pal who got it said that it really kinda sucked.  ME2 is fun up to a point, I always got bogged down towards the end game.  Knights of Honor was definintely fun. 
  5. The Good Knight's Code of Honor: Don't be a **** in deathmatch

    dumbest thing ever?  Actually not.  Here are my rules for playing DM.

    1) I will acknowledge you by flourishing my weapon;

    2) I will then contact my friends over vent to position themselves appropriately.  ideally they will all be naked archers, or 2H jumping axemen;

    3) We will start dueling;

    4) I will immediately suck (b/c i do rather suck at melee) and beg for mercy;

    5) You will follow your code and have to let me live; and

    6) you will be promptly impaled by a spear to the back, arrow to the face (through the back of your head), or put in the nekid 2H man meat blender.....

    Ok seriously though, this is a video game.  Jedi outcast turned what was supposed to be a bedlam of combat into a "honor" queue.  Please don't do that to M&B.

    yes I HATE getting lanced in the back, or run down by a nekid nord. but that's part of the game.

    perhaps we could make "honor" servers to keep the honorable away from dishonorable scum like myself.

  6. [Suggestion] Melee Enhancement

    maybe they should change the beta forum into the Suggestions-Disproved forum.

    to clarify, simply saying no is kind of silly since we are in a beta with the point of the beta being to discuss.  if the game is perfect, then why are we in beta?  i want to see warband be the best damn hackfest around.  so perhaps a lil more feedback discussion then no would be preferable
  7. [Suggestion] Melee Enhancement

    I agree -  1 v 1 melee gets rather borning.  It either becomes, as you point out, a shield smacking contest bundled with running in perpetual circles.  even if you switch the camera so you can see around you, melee should be more than a run fest. 
  8. Jumping as Tactic: Valid and Otherwise

    a modifier display option would be great to see how the mechanics are working.

    I am not saying that jumping needs to be removed from the game, just noting some "Fresh off the boat" reactions to how I saw jumping effect gameplay and how my gameplay evolved using jumping.  more food for thought really as sometimes a fresh set of eyes can help, particularly when people become embedded in a particular method.  Jumping is fine for you. You're used to it.  Just some fresh thoughts on jumping seeing as there will be LOTS more fresh thoughts once they get this game out.

    I'm also not asking for the game to become a simulation.  I'm asking that it not become a naked man charge at horse w/2H weapon fest. 

    But if we are going to make it gamey, give me a minimap.  doesn't need to have indicators of where people are, but it would be nice to see where i am.

    I believe you misread my post.  I died, and during my dying animate I got to see mr. horsey jump over a fence.  Which is cool.  I did the same thing afterwards.  This was well w/n the 3-5 seconds of the previous jump

    anyhow, 3-5 second cooldown on jumping is almost nothing.



  9. Equipment Scaling?

    I would say that there should be a "fast equip" option in the final game, or like a way (unless there is an i just haven't seen it yet) to do preset loadouts.  It takes too long to select equipment.  This is especially true in conquest maps where the game runs incredibly fast.  Options would be to increase the respawn time to accommodate equipment selection, which would piss everyone off, or have a fast-select option.
