  1. Somnorila

Release date announced on 25th October for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S,

maybe the EA version is very different from the release version.
concidering that there where barely any updates since 1.7.0, it would make sense that their focus is not on the EA version anymore. it would make sense that they don't care about some EA issues, as they are not a thing of the release version anyway (for unknown reasons)
remember the jump they pulled off from 1.6.4 to 1.7.0 . it's not like they are not capable of doing such things.
not saying that it has to be like that and it's a lot of hopium. in the end it's all rumours.
I'd call that wishful thinking, but you do you i guess...

Release date announced on 25th October for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S,

They can call it released at any time, although there can be consequences to that (backlash, bad press, PR crisis, etc.)
People already started to change their steam rating to negative and i believe it will snowball towards that with more and more taking the trend. Specially if the launched version will be pretty much just a 1.8.0 general state of the game and not something more, at least on the level of Viking Conquest.

Full Release - PC & Console

is the release version different than 1.8.0?
pff... It's not like we played a different and older build of the game until 1.8.0 while they were keeping under wraps a more advanced version.
I think it's what you see it's what you get. An unfinished game regardless of it being called finished after some date two months later or whatever.
I mean the current Bannerlord doesn't even have the main story finished let alone stuff that should had been a given, like the stuff you get in Viking Conquest. That stuff is what i was expected it to be the starting baseline for the early access and not be something still missing even when launched.
To be clear now as for this announcement, this is not a game but a mod platform. And i can't ever recommend that to anyone to buy.

Resolved companions are never seen before

Then what's the logic around this design? Are they spawned somewhere on the map or not?
    I found what's happening...
Those are part of the find daughter quests.

Forced peace if 75% of enemy lords are in captivity

75% just in lords is too much i'd say.
There should be a better power rating for the war, a more detailed one with all actions that influence the war. Similar how it's in Crusader Kings 3, so you can't maintain a war indefinitely. Hence you either you come to an agreement at 75% of that bar which includes field battles, lords, raids, castles, town, raided caravans and villagers. You pay if they are reached that, they pay if you reached that. Or the war is automatically ended at 100% of that bar and the loser has to pay highest tribute.
In any case, after peace happens, war can't be declared against same faction before at least one week has passed. Something like this would seem better i think.
  6. Somnorila

    War-peace cycle.

I think there should be a locked in period after agreeing on peace before being able to declare war again to the same faction. For some weird reason now i noticed that when i pay for peace with a faction that faction is declaring war again in the same day or the next one. It's to soon. At least...

    How about churches and religion.
Improving weapons and armors at blacksmiths.
Having the ability to store materials at your workshops.

How about some type of treasure hunting and random generated events that pop up on the map similarly to bandit hideouts, where maybe some could trigger some side quest branches. Stuff that we have in some mods.
Maybe some solo stuff, to be part of an army or a gang or just a peasant.

After over 900 hours of playing, I can't recommend this game.

People have been wanting more diplomacy options and kingdom features for a long time.
I know they'll do good by us,they already made good additions to the game, hopefully their next main objectives are politics and diplomacy and vlandia, khuzait and aserai troop overhauls and equipment diversity.

Also buff Sturgia troops in game...
I wouldn't count on that as politics and diplomacy would presume very complex and deep mechanics with important effect on the world and game balance. When you see some pretty basic things not being included that you need to rely on simple mods to have that, like flag customization or flag colors for instance, it doesn't inspire much trust that what you say it will even be part of the game.
I too have almost 900 hours and also am disappointed on what the game offers. I was expecting from the start to be at least at the level of Viking Conquest and after how many? Like 9 years of waiting and two years of early access and still not even close to be compared to that? So all the coulds and buts they said the game will be, i'm fairly certain it will never be. But sure, go all in for multiplayer arena style the ****tiest approach for this game. Cater all the development and changes to it being played on consoles even if it's clear that the game is only going backwards, like with the new and "improved" troop formations.

Resolved companions are never seen before

I've been informed that this is not a bug but a design decision.
Then what's the logic around this design? Are they spawned somewhere on the map or not?

    Poll: Current Troop Assignment

It doesn't have to be one or the other, the new system is well done except for the fact that you're not allowed to assign individual troops/units into different formations. If they can fix that it'll be ideal or as close to it.
But this shouldn't had been an issue to be fixed though. It's a no brainer that this should had been part of the system from the get go as it's part of the core premise of having such a system, and the fact that it isn't makes the whole thing and its implementation seem half-assed at best.

[1.7.0] Impossible to separate infantry types now into different formations?

Guess they´re are still working on improving it, there wasn´t much since the OOB was released. But as we all know stuff like this will take a long time, maybe around 4-5 months until it´s better.
Maybe it will be better in time, maybe. But the fact that even "as a concept" how it's now has many core issues makes it look very bad and not really promising that will be better. Like the intention was not bad but the design of the system seems to be made without much perspective in mind, like somehow the people who imagined it had no imagination and kind of seems weird coming from a game development team.

If they absolutely couldn't made it any different then they didn't had to change anything at all as the old system was good enough even if that was pretty limiting too, but definitely way better than what we have now. Sure it's more fancy now but functionally way worse.

    Future Plans

Would like to see more about extra stuff that would make the world more rich and believable. Maybe with integration of some mods or their ideas. Stuff like Freelancer, Scum and Villainy, take hideouts, Banks of Calradia, Honest Work, Scholars of Calradia, training fields, Agriculture Estate, Entrepreneur, hiring patrols around your fiefs and directing clans under your influence to behave in a certain manner, to attack or defend something specific. Maybe have faith and churches and sea action like with Viking Conquest. Also gear improvements and weapons and armor orders towards NPC craftsmen was a cool idea too. Some ideas from a bunch of Warband total conversion mods that add small stories or points of interest that appear in the same manner how a bandit hideout does, that you can explore and even find treasures in. And others as the list may go on.
It would be cool to have these ideas in one place rather than scattered and with mods that may not even work anymore. You know, to get a world that feels alive and interesting which draws you to explore it.

    Everything wrong with kicking

I don't play multiplayer so maybe my idea might not be proper for that. But i think that it needs better aiming. I barely use it because almost always i try to do a kick it's like i'm getting the stun not my opponent, because you get stuck in the animation and the kick hits towards the direction your character was pointing at the moment you pressed the button. So when the opponent moves as it happens most of the times, you get to hit air and then get struck by them. You should be able to aim the kick mid animation, to be able to rotate your character with the mouse during the kick animation so that it would mostly end facing the enemy and connect the hit. Maybe not 360 but at least certain angle in your front.
  14. Somnorila

    about character height

What are the implications of height? From what i gathered a tall one has more reach and moves faster on foot while a small one get's hit less while mounted and can swing lower from horse. But from my experience a tall one seems to move slower than a small one, but it may be just the animation...

    Beta Patch Notes e1.7.0

Walking through towns now has different icons. Is there an option to turn on the text to always be shown? Even if maybe it was a bit more messy, the old way was better in order to navigate a town.
Heavy Crossbow doesn't have the icon saying you can't reload it on horseback. Neither Hickory, so i'm guessing that icon doesn't appear anymore on any crossbow even when it should.

    Beta Patch Notes e1.7.0

I took the new first charisma perk that gives 5 influence when winning a tournament, it seems it doesn't work.
  17. Somnorila

    Beta Patch Notes e1.7.0

I don't really like the formations system. In one case i couldn't start the battle at all as the done button was greyed out. I had like 5 men in my party so formation shouldn't had popped up, but a random lord entered the battle too with many men on his side so the system triggered.
Now i just noticed that probably because off the implementation of this system, i can't assign formation numbers to troops in the menu anymore. So if i want to train specific troops i can't assign them a certain number in order to command them alone to attack.

TO TALEWORLDS: What happened to the concept of recruiting vassals?

Currently on my game in patch 1.6.5 i haven't been able to recruit anyone who already has some fief under their rule. I could get only landless clans and even then some of them present issues when doing the charisma minigame. I'm removing khuzaits off the map and they only have left like 3 fiefs. The khan has none under his rule as he probably gifted them to some clans just to keep them in his kingdom. But the price didn't seem too steep. Granted that i only smith some swords just for that, swords that are of value of around 50k and depends, some are coopted with just two while others need more, i think the most was about 10 swords, but that was in the beginning when i had barely started the kingdom and i had little support or influence.

    Tactics with Medicine

I was thinking of a general type playthrough where i don't battle and focus only int soc and cng, i wonder if the surgeon role affects simulated battles too or is pointless.
