Darn, had a group of 3 dudes try to kill me for 4 straight rounds of Captain mode the other day. They wanted the whole team to use camels, and I said no. I chose Veterans, I believe, something with bows. Anyway, I made them look like fools. Got more kills then they did while fending off charges from 3 dudes on camel, killed two of them, and we won the game. It was awesome and they were made to look like morons, but I also never want to play with scum like that again.

Damn, that's a legitimately good idea. Screw level-based matchmaking, I want matchmaking based on politeness. Just whole lobbies typing, "Wow man, nice shot." "Daaaaamn, good fight."

I saw a couple people who are confused about how to install the beta.

Right click the game in the Steam tray, click properties, betas, 1.1.0 in the dropdown.

Maybe just a minimize option, and the chat appears when you hit enter. Would be nice. I like chat in Captain, dislike it in TDM.

My trade is way more physical than sitting at a computer lecturing people who probably won't give a **** what I have to say. The game needs work and expansion, but what we have is an excellent foundation with many different systems that offer excellent opportunities for growth in updates, DLC, and mods. Some of the people who take issue with specific areas of the game like to bash everything that is on offer, and it is incredibly obnoxious, especially when they claim to speak for everyone.

Wait, you think I'm "flame baiting" because some other guy sometimes posts in other threads? I honestly don't understand that train of thought, but I urge you to please read what I've posted. I'm not attacking anyone, I just want TW to see that the trend of declaring "everyone feels this way" is false. That's all. I have no desire to cause or participate in useless name calling, in fact I was motivated to write this post after reading post after post after post of the same few individuals swearing and ranting and trying to run off anyone who didn't agree with them. If you are against "flame wars", then we're on the same side.

Yes, exactly. See OP for details. I'm not trying to be rude, but it sounds like you're repeating my opinion back to me as if it were yours and I required education. I'll repeat; I hope TaleWorlds doesn't feel pressure to act on the opinions presented by individuals who claim that they speak for the majority, as we have no way currently to prove or disprove that claim.

I completely agree, I just think this is a streamlined version of WB MP. You have the same options (large shield, small shield, long spear, short spear) but the combos are restricted, which makes it easier to balance. I completely understand not liking that, I just do like it.

You know what? You've got me there. I've seen comments in both places about MP, but in such small numbers compared to this forum, I think it's more than fair to say that MP is more heavily dissected here than anywhere else. I concede on that point, truly.

I don't know them personally, but I bet you'll be surprised. SP needs love first because SP is where reviews die. No money, no game. I think we can reasonably assume that we will have multiple maps, better servers in some form, possibly more modes. I assume this will come later.

Yeah, that was my only point. I keep seeing these scathing comments that include verbiage which suggests that the speaker represents the majority of players, and I don't believe that to be true, or at least I don't see any evidence of that being true. I hope that TaleWorlds sees this very small number of people complaining loudly and constantly, and gives pause before they change something which, so far, has met with resounding success in terms of Steam concurrency and sales, especially for an unfinished Early Access game.

I was going to quote individual replies, but wow. I can't believe the speed at which these replies flew in.

I see a few people who think that I am attacking them for not loving certain multiplayer decisions, and some who feel that I am mischaracterizing their opinion as "hates everything about multiplayer".

Let me try to restate my opinion. I enjoy the feel of the multiplayer, and I think the class system provides the same or similar levels of freedom as what came before, while offering structure that did not previously exist. To me it is like running a database query, everything still exists as it always did, you just have a neat way of organizing the information by type or variable now. Rather than scroll through weapons and compare individually, you search for "longest spear" and that's what you get. I like that. It's ok if you don't.

The point of my post was to highlight my own opinion, point out (admittedly anecdotally) that I am not alone, and ask that the devs remain skeptical of people saying things like "the majority", "clearly everyone", "only true fans" is not only unproductive, it could be downright false, in that this forum does not necessarily represent the entirety of the Bannerlord community (which is very positive in other places).

I think that one aspect of my claim has been pretty solidly supported by the reaction to this thread. Look at your posts, and the cross-referencing of previous posts going back months and months. You all know each other intimately. This is a small community. I only ask that TW consider that before they make any sweeping changes on your behalf.

I don't think this is rude, or at least that isn't my intention. I don't think that your opinion is lesser than mine. Our opinions might actually be very similar! I just think you (this forum in general) should stop attacking everyone who likes the game and claiming to speak for everyone, because you don't speak for me, and most of us can see through the "appeal to authority" fallacy anyway.

If that's what it sounds like, I apologize. My intention was not to attack anyone, and I don't think my words feel scathing. My issue is not with those opinions that I do not hold, it is with the general insistence that those opinions represent fact, or are indicative of a majority opinion. Again, sorry if you felt like you were being attacked. I'm not above editing and rewording my OP, if you can help me understand where the problem is.

Mabons, I'm about to have a meeting, so I can't respond to everything, but I will. I just wanted to clarify. I'm not trying to dismiss anyone's opinion. I actually agree that it would be nice to have custom servers that meet your expectations, or a TDM that is less restricted, simply because I want everyone to feel satisfied. My only point was that it is not fair to declare your opinion the majority opinion, especially when it doesn't seem to be the majority opinion outside of this seemingly closed loop. My intention is not to dismiss, offend, or condescend to anyone. I only think that TaleWorlds should hear the other side without all of the "filthy casual" talk, because some of us who have played tons of Warband like the new Bannerlord system as well or better. That's all, no offense meant.

Good luck polling every person who purchased the game, and that's my point. I can poll everyone I know, and it will be a unanimous positive response, and that was my point. There's nothing wrong with or invalid about your opinions, but you shouldn't declare them fact, and it is unfair to suppose that you are the majority when you only represent a very specific few. I can only offer anecdotal evidence, but I don't encounter negativity surrounding the multiplayer outside of this forum.
