They only move forward a bit. It works pretty well actually. Like today I wanted them to stay out of throwing range and too my archers to advance and then they kept at their shorting distance, which is naturally longer than the throwing one.

In larger battles I have also used it if I need my archers to move away from enemy infantry, but things are too hectic to tell them exactly where to go.

O would suggest that you try it out, it is a really big improvement from just charging

If they are melee units they do. If they are archers they advance untill they are in rance then they shoot and maintain that distance. But they also run back and forth. So it might not be ideal with archers, but for normal infrantry it works perfect.

I know is a lot of pages ago, but why not just press advance?

I started my own kingdom before I did the quest. Now the clan independence box is not checked. How do I solve that?
If I finish it it assumes that I have decided to support an existing faction (my own)

So essentially, try reinstalling, start a new game and enter the toturial area and leave by telling your brother that you are ready to leave.

I have only played half an hour after that, so I do not know of the bug will reappear.

I think not leaving the toturial area via the brother dialogue creates the bug, which then stops saving in any save game.

For me it solved it that I went to the toturial and then said to him that I was done. If leaving via tab it was still bugged.

It seemed to stop making me able to save that I loaded the game that started the bug, then I deleted all save files and restarted the game, then I could save again.

The first time I could get it to work I did not delete saves, but reinstalled the game and then started a new campaign following the steps above. Then I could also load and save in my old savegames (except the one that started the bug)

Any news on this? I have it too, will try to post using the form tomorrow.

Just want to say that I miss those features too. Some of them seems like they would be really easy to implement. I mean, how much effort would it take to make companions that were not just random numbers? And random numbers that often don't make sense at that, e.g. a swordsman with high weapon skills and 2 in strength.

I have the same issue, I have tried setting my global settings to only use the external graphics card, but it still only uses the integrated graphics. If I disable the internal graphics card, then it seems like the game can see the external graphics card, but then it does not work.

I experience that bug too, but I cannot switch back to my high performance graphics card.

In the NVIDIA control panel I have tried setting the game specific settings to the high performance card and setting the global settings to the high performance card. But the game still uses the internal one.

Nice with a blog no matter what. I realise it is some posts back, but I also really like the improved way the banners are being held.

Also, I am a big fan of directional blocking with shields, it has always bugged me that using a shield did not involve more player skill. Especially considering how actively people are using shields in real life.

Great blog, this has really kept some good mods back. So I am happy it is solved.

I am not an expert either. But recent research suggest that people were travelling a great deal more (and marrying people from far away lands) than it was previously believed. Two famous Danish girls from  the bronze age (1300 BC) have just been tested. It  turns out one is from southern Germany and one might be from  might have lived in the northern part of the Czech Republic, in France or in Mid Germany.

There were both upper class/nobility. My point is of people travelled that far I'm northern Europe 1300 BC when the world was less developed, it does not seem unlikely that it would also have happened further south.
