  1. I desperately need help!!!!

    Go to documents
    Navigate to Bannerlord
    Now configs
    Open engine.config.txt
    Change the cheat_mode from 0 to 1
    Save the file

Ctrl + LMB – teleports you to the clicked location on the map
Lol. I did end up finding a cheat. But I do have strict rules when to use it. I have to have actually paid the ransom and not just escaped and I have to shut it off in 24 game hours and I'm still captured.
  2. I desperately need help!!!!

What is your party speed, and the modifiers showing?
It's not a question of speed. It's a question of, you're surrounded when you're released. The only reasonable solution is for the devs to fix their broken game.
  3. I desperately need help!!!!

It's accurate in some contexts but hella not in others, and this is a fantasy world with its own rules and thus you have to abide by them unless TW makes cultures more distinct by having different laws of chivalry associated with them.

It is your fault; you got picked up, and since you're literally naked your movement speed should far exceed the battle parties so if you're still getting nicked then you're doing something wrong.

I was almost literally in your situation (I kept my clothes and a horse) during the first hours of my first playthrough, so it's not like I can't relate. The key is to get out of Dodge, enter the fight arena for seed money, and then do small trades between cities in a tight area until you have enough money to pay for delivery boys, and then gradually upgrade your wealth and personal power from there.
Okay, genius. Talk me out of this...

Go ahead. Tell me what to do... BTW, there will be about five different armies surrounding that city when you leave. So how am I supposed to get out of dodge?

Oh, you don't have one? I can't believe your, "Dump everything and they'll leave you alone" plan doesn't work here. It's almost like the problem isn't speed. It's almost like its the enemy aggression to drop everything they're doing to chase after your character is a bad idea as a game design.
  4. I desperately need help!!!!

This is it; you don't lose your thousands of kgs of loot, so you are slow. Dump your stuff, you should hit 6.0, 7.0 with a horsey 🐴
I AM LITERALLY BUCK NAKED!!!! What else should I dump? My liver? Seems everyone wants to eat it.
  5. I desperately need help!!!!

Are you over-encumbered? You should be able to easily outrun patrols if you're on your own, but you're greatly slowed by lugging around much of the phat loot you were carrying prior to your arrest and detention, so you probably just have to abandon most of your stuff (animals included) to get away.

It's definitely not a pleasant experience, but it's not supposed to be; you made a mistake that allowed you to get arrested in hostile territory so your aim should be to stay out of jail as much as possible (and look for wards to stash your valuables; prior to fiefs, it seems like 1.2 introduced "Warehouses" which can be used as storage to some degree).
No, I'm not. That's just it. It's just me. No horses. No loot. No men. No captives. Nothing. I'm in the middle of their territory which extends to about 10 different cities on the map.

This is what is broken. It's not even historically accurate. Passages of freed prisoners IS historically accurate and should be a mechanic.

You are so fixated on it being my fault, when I'm doing everything right. I've dumped everything. My guy is literally naked.
  6. I desperately need help!!!!

I've been trying to fix this problem for two days, but I can't. It gets to a point where the game is completely unplayable. What happens is I get captured and ransom comes up. That's fine. But then they release you right in the middle of their territory and another of their armies immediately...
  7. General bannerlord opinions to max immersion and gameplay

I would like them to fix the ransom system. I would like it that when you're captured and you pay a ransom, you have one day to get your butt out of their territory before you can be captured again. This idea of paying a ransom, only to be dropped in the middle of enemy territory surrounded by armies, then picked up again by another lord, is stupid. Who's idea was this and why are they allowed to live.

If you're going to do that, then make it so you don't face any negative action when you take revenge and execute those who capture you.
  8. Why the hell is there no right of passage?!

When you get captured, you pay a ransom. Why the hell do they not let you peacefully cross out of their lands?! That's not fair and not right. It's bad game design! Give you a day to get out and get to safety. That would be the historically accurate fair thing to do. Of course, bandits...
  9. What makes Bannerlord dull

I think you will like the next iteration of the encyclopedia "fog of war" - even if it doesn't completely resolve what you are describing.
I just started playing your game again with your fog of war. Thanks! I hate it!
  10. The petty things TaleWorlds does to get us to "explore."

Post in thread 'What makes Bannerlord dull' https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?threads/what-makes-bannerlord-dull.453637/post-9823926 talking about this subject, I remember when one of the Devs talked about this. They certainly wanted the player to get more immersed in the world but it backfire completely because of the way they implemented it. At this point it would seem we don't get happy with anything, but the problem is always the same, it's the way they implement all these features.
These are devs who have their heads so far up their own ass---, they can't see their own sh---. They really can't. Throughout development, a lot of their rationale for their questionable decisions boiled down to "this is what we think is best".

What could be seen as a metaphor for the entire studio was how they approached their dev diaries. These were suggested by the community to maintain interest in the game, but they crashed and burned because of the way TaleWorlds doesn't know how to implement them. They were dull as hell and they said next to nothing about the game. Worse, it was also around the same time when Ninja Theory, Warhorse Studios, and Asobo Studios all ran very successful campaigns using dev dairies.

So, not only could we see TaleWorlds didn't take them seriously, we had other successful independent studio campaigns to compare them to! One of these things, is not like the others. The excuse we got was "We want the features to be a surprise." Well, now we know it's because they didn't have a whole lot to show off. I got banned several times from their boards for saying, "I bet it's because you have nothing to show." And I was right. And TaleWorlds still hasn't unbanned me for being right. (Okay, to be fair, they probably more banned me because when they mentioned they didnt' have a release date, replied, "Okay, can you at least tell me the day that you'll run out of capital and assets and become totally bankrupt during your eternal development?" Only then I found out they were receiving at least some funds from the Turkish government, which they didn't like me revealing.) This game feels more like a remake than a genuine sequel.

Personally, I think much of what is going on is that they decided to build their own engine after a significant portion of the game was already developed, which basically burned out their creative minds. And not to say that wasn't a good idea in the long run. I actually think it was a brilliant idea on TaleWorld's part to build something that will work for the type of games they want to develop, but again, news of that wasn't handled the best way.

They are very much a "check a tick mark" off their list versus serious discussion on implementing the mechanics well. There's not a reason there can't be each lord having their own unique storylines and quests that are a political mess and can lead to you starting your own kingdom.
  11. The petty things TaleWorlds does to get us to "explore."

I don't remember this one, was it in mount & blade, or warband?
    What was it?
It was warband. You could meet a dude claiming to be the bastard son and rightful heir to one of the kingdoms and then join him to try and take the throne. It wasn't perfectly executed, but it was something.
  12. The petty things TaleWorlds does to get us to "explore."

Pretty sure that was not a thing in either M&B or Warband. Maybe you're thinking of Viking Conquest? Or some mod?

On the topic itself, the way I see it, it's not that they made this change to make you explore. They just stopped to think "does it make sense that the encyclopedia gives you all this info from the get go?", and reached the conclusion that no, it doesnt. So they changed it. And it makes perfect sense.
Should there be more depth in the game? yea, obviously. It's barebones and shallow. But those are two completely separate issues.
Redacting the encyclopedia makes absolutely no sense. I agree that how they have it is more realistic, but does it make it good or better? You don't even care about meeting any of these people, because they're all the same with a different funny hat. The only reason you'd care is to find yourself a spouse. That's literally it. Realism =/= Good.

Nor are these completely separate issues.

What's going on is that Taleworlds is trying to force you to "explore" their map, but offering nothing worthwhile to bother. It's a symptom of the bigger problem that their world is stupid and boring. They put themselves into Catch 22. No one wants to explore their world because it's boring and unrewarding, but they have to explore their world now. If it wasn't boring, then they could have a fog of war because people are going to explore it. Because it's boring, this now becomes one more drop in a very big bucket of annoying.

This is the difference between Ubisoft and FromSoftware. Ubisoft compels you to explore the world with checklists while FromSoftware with a worthwhile experience. As a result, Ubisoft has to put in long expositions and cut scenes, where FromSoftware can just have minimalist storytelling hidden in items.
  13. The petty things TaleWorlds does to get us to "explore."

I haven't played this game in some time, I'll admit. Now they're nerfing the encyclopedia so the only people you can see are those you've already met. It's a small thing, but I think this details a much bigger problem TaleWorlds: They suck at world-building. That's why they have to play petty...
  14. How do you Disband Armies

I'm confused about this whole post.

You can go to the Army management screen and choose to disband not only your army, but those led by others for a small chunk of influence.

If you are talking about a party, select the party in the clan management tab and click on the change leader icon after selecting the party at the center of the screen. You can then tell the party to disband instead of assigning a new leader, and they will dump their troops at your closest garrison, or an allied garrison if yours are too far. Pay attention though. It may overstuff one of your garrisons and cause you to lose high level troops due to troop limits
Thanks for being actually helpful! It's one of those things where I think Taleworlds should have really made uniform when things are a similar desire.
  15. How do you Disband Armies

    Surprisingly, you didn't notice.
Okay, Smuggly Puff. Show me. Go ahead and take this picture and circle the nonexistent disband button. Please. I'm waiting for you to prove me wrong.

  16. Need More Info Disband button not appearing

Summary: The disband button does not appear on my clan menu. You do have a "disband" button for parties such as attacking parties and caravans, right? You know, the one you have in case a player changes their mind and just takes a castle and decides to put their companion as the governer...
  17. How do you Disband Armies

I can't believe that after all these years, Taleworlds overlooks so many of the obvious things. Anyway, how do you disband an army? It makes no sense! I changed my mind! I need this person in another position. How do I do it? How do you overlook something so obvious!
  18. Question about Families and territories

Questions are as follows: 1. Is there a way to declare the main residence or a way to tell your family to move to a specific castle/town. Aside from appointing them governor and then not appointing them governor? I would really like it if I see an army coming to one of the castles, I can move...
  19. What do you think about the Story Mode? SPOILER

There's a lot of things they could have done that would make it much, much better. For starters, they could have had it where, no matter what you choose, empire or not, your brother wants the opposite action and turns against you. There could have been things in it that made you have to try the various game mechanics.

There could be optional quests. In fact, I wish that every faction had its own "expanded quest" where you would do various things like quelling or supporting an insurrection (like the long-lost bastard cases that were in the original games) and quests for your companions as well. They don't have to be largely unique from each other, because doing so would be a monumental task for a small team, but they should be there.
  20. For the sake of all that is Holy, can you not have a better system for finding Lords?

so you basically want to create a bubble where everyone is applauding each other, no matter what
i guess iam allowed to say my opinion to this topic as same as everyone else is. you dont have to like it as same as i dont have to like yours.

and by the way it has nothing to do with lazy "git gud" rhetoric. and saying that someone is objectivly wrong is not an argument, its actually just your subjective point of view. if you dont understand how to track down a lord, then you have a core issue with understanding one of the easiest game mechanics/tools in the game.

and no, making it like it was in warband is actually worse. for reasons i already mentioned and you seemingly dont care about.
Let's say that was true... where does that hurt you?
