That would be enough to quell the claims of vaporware. I have been playing freeware, shareware and indipendantly published games (like Baseball Mogul by Sports Mogul) for more than 10 years now. As I said, the way M&B has been presented on the website combined with the creators total absence from the forums show all the signs of vaporware.
And to those saying that they could have waited until 1.0 to release anything. Sorry, but that is ludicrous, M&B's whole business strategy is centered on using beta releases to generate the necessary funds to finish the game. If they had waited for 1.0... there would BE no 1.0...
M&B is a revolutionary concept (not the game itself which shows some nice potential) but more for the way it is being published, but I suggest that the creators should do some researech into how successful indy games are published, how they interact with their fanbase (This is NOT EA, so they can't be as aloof as EA), and then consider that they are asking for their customers (cause that's what we are) money *up front* and that adds on a whole other layer of obligation.
Now I know alot of people feel like they have a personal investment in the game and are going to be upset by this. Sorry, I'm not trying to goad people here. The release could come tommorrow, and everyone will think it's great... until the next time. I'm not suggesting that the release should be rushed out early, I'm suggesting that "Taleworlds" need to examine their business model and approach this whole thing with a bit more professional maturity and honesty.
