Oh, they have no idea what hell I've lured them into  http://imgur.com/a/p3xKa

And to think, that was the invasion force that was going to attack my only walled and defenceless fief.

EDIT: I think I can consider Sarleon successfully curbed: http://imgur.com/a/8M0UW

Thanks for the help! Empire and the Fierdsvain are climbing back up.

    So, an update:

Things have happened quite as you said! The D'Shar and Fierdsvain made peace, and now Ravenstern is at war with the D'Shar (somehow), and Fierdsvain has attacked Sarleon and has chosen Marleons of all places to attack first

There was also a brief war between Sarleon and the D'Shar, in which Sarleon managed to take Ishkoman, so they now have a real empire of sorts. Their power looks to be the main one to curb at the moment.

I only hope Ravenstern actually does something. They've been hopelessly passive the entire game so far.

EDIT: And the Fierdsvain actually won. Here's hoping they don't lose everything now.

I've been trying to keep tabs on the factions, and it seemed as though Empire was doing badly, so I became a vassal for them... and they were overrun. The all-important feast trumped the defence of these castles: http://imgur.com/a/O1Aqg

Meanwhile, the Fierdsvain get utterly annihilated by the D'Shar, and the war is still going: http://imgur.com/a/TaqCQ

I'm uncertain of what to do. I have a considerable army of 180, made up of mostly Shadow Legion and high-tier Ravenstern units + knights (plus companions of course), but I can't contend with the entire faction if the marshal prefers feasts to defending his own territory.

How can I possibly save the Fierdsvain and Empire? I don't want them completely gone, because I want to start Pendor at some point and need some balance. Luring the Snake armies plaguing Empire lands to the Noldor doesn't stop them from failing. Plus, whenever I lead them to the Sarleon attackers, the army just steadily drifts back to the Cez area.

    Pointers please? :???:

According to that equation, I need lords at +67 relations or above to recruit them... that only applies for one lord, and he's the honourable type... guess I'd best get to work with relations, then!

Also, I've noticed that when some lords are expelled from both D'Shar and Ravenstern, they don't come to my faction, but leave the game entirely. Is there a way to make them come to my faction, instead of just leaving? Presumably they're leaving rather than join my faction because my relations with them are too low.

I captured an enemy lord who had +42 relations with me, but the only dialogue in the prisoner screen is the ransom one. He's one of those honourable ones that say 'LONG MAY HE LIVE' whenever you ask them about their king, too. How can I get him to join when he's a prisoner? I thought it could be done :???:

Yeah I know, and all the D'Shar lords who do like me (70+ relations) are honourable and say 'LONG MAY HE LIVE!' when I ask them about Bahadur Khan.

Capture those honorable lords then talk to them, they'll defect then. Kick your other lords out so you have fiefs to give them.

You can do that to honourable lords? I never knew that! When I've tried it on other different disposition lords who give me the dialogue option, they just consider me too weak to join.
The very fact you say that shows you're doing it wrong.

Take them prisoner, then while they are in your prisoner train, talk to them. There's no real dialogue options besides "I will accept your ransom of XXYY denars" or "I will accept your oath of fealty."

Critically, you will want to have high relationship. Both because it affects your ability to recruit them in this way, but also because higher is better (they will lose relation if you give fiefs in some cases, usually if it is to lord from other backgrounds (eg: a ravenstern-type will be sad if you give to empire-type, it seems)

Will they transfer their fiefs to my faction if they join if they have any?

I got my Pendor faction going, and we own a couple of towns and a few castles dotted around the map in a fragile single-line fashion. The only 2 factions left besides me are the D'Shar (I'm at war with them, they dominate 60% of the map) and Ravenstern (own all their northern lands). All the D'Shar fiefs that I haven't yet taken have a huge garrison (400+), and because the ratio of lords in my faction who hate me and like me is 2:1 (since every time I give a fief to someone, I lose 10 relations with everyone else), almost all will not follow me on a campaign. I have a fairly strong army (bunch of companions and about 130 KotEG, with about 15-20 SL Centurions), but I don't really know what to do with it.

We are technically winning against the D'Shar, but we can't make any gains because their garrisons are too strong, and kill too many of my EGs to make them worth it. On the other hand, Ravenstern are much smaller than the D'Shar, but their army is extremely strong (packed to the brim with Knights of the Dragon), and they have a lot of lords. My overall goal is world domination eventually.

Any tips on what to do to expand my faction here?

    EDIT: I'm on 101% difficulty.

    Non-US City Living?

Despite being expensive expensive, how is London as a livable place? I might hve an interview soon for a company that has openings there.

Depends which part you live in. Brixton? Croydon? Tooting? Might wanna lock and bolt your door, close the curtains and shut off the lights if you decide to stay there as a reasonable human being. East London in general has a reputation for being a zoo, but like every city, London has its nice places, more typically the West End, though obviously that is more expensive.

Speaking out of experience as an Englishman living south of London next to a less-than-civilised suburb (there was a murder there the other day. Fun).

That's now been the third suggestion of York, so it must be doing something right.

It's a nice city, with an interesting history behind it (see Jorvik), but its hilly outskirts are treacherous to vehicles other than tanks.

But don't go to Birmingham. Or Newcastle. Or Leeds. Or Manchester. Especially Birmingham and Manchester. Those cities have quite a stereotypical bad reputation among us Brits for good reason.

The server is still laggy and combat is still quite clunky and slow compared to the fluid nature of the Ludus, plus the Arena map has some terrain in it that can make fights unfair, would be nice to have a flat surface to fight on.

Is there any way I (as a vassal) can try and get two factions to make peace with one another?

As a D'Shar vassal & marshal, we've been at war with Sarleon for nearly 200 game days now, and taken Ethos, Ironoak and Shieldstorm from them, taken King Ulric prisoner, as well as a couple other lords (they're sitting in my Ethos), yet Kadan will not make peace with them. It's desperately needed, because Empire, the Fierdsvain and Ravenstern declared war on us, and Savador Castle and Ethos (my 2 fiefs) are right on the front line, constantly under siege by Sarleon and Empire. I'm only able to hold them off by way of lucky Noldor patrols that come by. While we managed to destroy the Fierdsvain for good finally, the other 3, particularly Sarleon are a huge threat still. How can I help make peace with them, if at all?

[LEGACY] Quick Questions // Quick Answers

Well, I managed to retake Valonbray and Ansen Lodge, and Ravenstern eventually made peace. I just let their massive army take those 2 fiefs, and then I went and retook Ironoak, which forced them to retreat to deal with that, and I then retook Valonbray & Ansen while they were distracted.

So now it's only the Fierdsvain, with 1100 troops in Javiksholm, but almost none of the lords will follow me, because I have massive controversy (97) from letting Ravenstern take Valonbray & Ansen. I suppose I should hand over the marshal position to someone else to let my controversy go down? Hopefully they'll then besiege Javiksholm and kick the Fierdsvain out for good.

What are your long term plans in general? Win as a King or as a vassal of an existing faction?

I want to have my own faction and win as sole ruler of Pendor eventually, so I'm trying to bump up all lord relations as much as I can.

[LEGACY] Quick Questions // Quick Answers

I'm in a sticky situation, and need some advice. It's quite long, so I'll split it into small paragraphs.

I'm the marshal of the D'Shar. I have Savador Castle and Kogosi as my fiefs. The D'Shar used to be the superpower, before I joined them, they had all of the Fierdsvain lands except for Javiksholm. Now, we've lost Ansen Lodge, Ironoak Castle and Valonbray to Ravenstern.

Currently, we're at war with the remnants of the Fierdsvain and Ravenstern (who have massive armies, by the way).

My problem is this: I don't have many Lords with me, because the majority are just patrolling their own lands willy nilly, and I don't have the time to go back to the desert to tell them to help me. The number of troops I have combined with the Lords that are following me is around 800. Ravenstern have around 1600 troops, since all their Lords are following their Marshal, and their army has around 250 knights: Knights of the Dragon, Ravenstern Knights & the knights from Oswald de Fleur, since they hired him.

Ours, in comparison, has the usual D'Shar cavalry: Dervish Raiders, plus my own, which ain't great (a few Rogue Knights & various armoured cavalry units I've picked up over the 430 game days I've been playing). We also have a lack of decent D'Shar infantry: Mainly Veteran Spearmen, not many Bladesmen, Scorpion Assassins or any Blademasters. Our only really good unit is my 9 Noldor Rangers that I recruited.

Javiksholm's garrison is too big to take without huge losses, and my Lords have a really annoying tendency to run off for no reason while building ladders or siege towers. Valonbray has the same problem: Tonnes of Ravenstern Wardens and Rangers that just eat my armies alive.

I simply don't know what to do, considering the garrison remains at 0 after I take a fief anyway, so they just swoop in and besiege it again, dumping a garrison of 250 in there out of nowhere once taken.

I was thinking of trying to cause a rebellion in the D'Shar, and try to get at least half of the Lords on my side, but I'm not how I would do that, since some hate me (-10 or less relations), and some like me (+10 or higher).

Any tips on what to do?

    Hey,

I'm in mid-game, with every town having a dyeworks giving me 500 denars of income per month now, plus a mercenary contract, which results in me currently having 110k denars. However, I really want to start my own kingdom, yet all the castles & towns have tonnes of troops in them, like 250+, while I have around 120 men, 15 of whom are Noldor Rangers & Twilight Knights (I spent my first Qualis Gem to buy them, they've won me so many battles it's unreal), the rest are high tier units from all factions, though no KHO units. The D'Shar and Sarleon absolutely dominate the map, with Fierdsvain down to Javiksholm only, and Empire & Ravenstern having only half of their territories left, and the ones that are left have about 500+ men in each.

TL;DR I don't know how to start my own kingdom, all the fiefs have way more men than I have. How should I go about starting?

Also, Empire Immortals or Knights of the Ebony Gauntlet? I can't decide which of the two I'd prefer to have.
