It might be a while as I've got a bad virus on my computer and M&B isn't working. I can still keep working on models but I can't do much else. Gonna have to erase all programs and re-install themeventually, and hopefuly soon. So just hang in there while, please...  Sorry...

Probably regular ocean-floor/ocean would be best. With Sky, and land, too. That's what most people want so far, not just here but some on the other thread, too. Just didn't wanna skip over any ideas that might be best for the mod. 

If they were all together, would you want on the land/sea and ocean floor levels something like Option 1-, or something like Option 2-?

I've redrawn the battleships, actually, to look less like solid iron submarines and more believable, as well as more steampunkish. Hope you like-


About the terrain- I'l ltry some things out and get back to y'all.

A good idea... There are no oceans left from global warming- they've all dried into seas of loose sand. These are two possible options based off that idea, if Bite Me likes it.

1) It could just be a sea of sand that hardens on the bottom,

or...

2) Beneath the sea of sand there is water. Deep below, there are great, dark, cold, subterranean caves that hold massive freshwater bodies, warmed on their floors by hotsprings. They hold tons of strange and alien life. This is where the Atlantians reside.

Either way, they would have large metal, closed tight like a submarine, worm-like machines with drills on the noses and wheels with treads that grip to anything, that they can use to travel through both water, rock, and sand.

...And maybe some funny little gnome-like creatures that live deep underground, too...?

It may be possible to have the mod on land/sea, sky, and sea floor. We've decided that I'll deal with this part.

Is there a possibility that we could get some of your models for scene props for use in the mod World of Steam? The mod is in early development, but I think it'd be very nice to have some scene props to toy around with in the edit mode for inspiration. Particularly the train tracks and trains...

I would be so grateful to you if we could. These graphics for this mod are excellent. We don't need much, but trains/rails will add so much effect to the scenes

I try to speak humbly, and it is fine if you don't want us using the props. Perfectly fine.

I myself promise, and I will get the rest of our (little) team and anyone who joins who will be dealing with the models to promise, to not distribute the models to any others without permission from your team, specifically your team leader.

We will have the Rusters- they're kinda like the Borg from Star Trek. I thinks Mort is working on those models for one of his upcoming Steampunk OSP packs.

The Hawks (sky pirates, Captain Windtreader) will only do what will lead them to freedom. Freedom is the goal. The sky represents freedom because being up there is like breaking free from the world below- flying. There's a whole new world up there, and no one can catch you. They are determined and brave, they pledge allegiance to no one, not for any amount of money. They will not sell themselves to anyone, they make their money the way true pirates do.

The Atlantians (Captain Nemo) represent freedom in solitude. They are mostly a mysterious faction, one which remains hidden somewhere beneath the depths of the ocean. They represent peace, quiet, comfort. They remain fairly unknown- they are no mercenaries, either. They make their money secretly. They have agents in the black markets and in every big sea port, and you may never know who is one and who is not one. The Empire is only at the start of figuring out what is happening beneath their seas.

Keep waiting for more info on these two factions. Me and Bite Me need to talk before we post anyhting more on them.

For now this will be a thread for discussion. Me and Bite Me are staying in contact and figuring out ways to work things out. We'll give updates. Keep letting the ideas come! At some point, though, we're going to have to settle on something...

I personally find it funner to play off a mount. I do almost exactly what Llew does. The game is just easy on a mount. Some people like easy, though- just brushing past an enemy and cutting them down. But there are a few who particularly enjoy that intense combat that takes place while on foot... I've slaughtered more than 50 enemies on foot before in one battle and did not get cut down in the battle at all, stayed intact, but it takes some practice to get to that point- a lot more practice than for mounted fighting.
