  2. My town's prosperity is increasing!

    I think there may be a link between poor town/productive villages.  In my game, I took Shariz, and it was the poorest town on the map, yet its villages were the most productive.  Conversely, the wealthiest town's villages were mediocre at best.  I bet when a city is really poor, and prices of basic goods go up, the surrounding villages are able to really gouge em, so they make huge profits.  Practically, I don't know what this means.  I would say though, don't be too encouraged by having productive villages... they're quite possibly doing that at the expense of your town.  Or on the flipside... maybe its worth it to get poor towns in order to get good villages with them?  $.02

  5. Unable to own castles

    bump.  I have the same problem.  Helping saranid claimant, and no matter what recommendation I give for conquered fiefs, they remain unassigned/ungarrisoned (except for what I manage to drop into them).

    Psh.  I remember defeating a dark knight party with only Marnid, Borcha, and 20 peasants (that I was rescuing... why did the dark knights only attack peasants, btw?), on foot.  damn, I need to go find a reminiscence thread now.

    if you open module_mission_templates and scroll down past the commented text that says "mission templates before this point are hardwired into the game", you'll start to see the various templates you can insert this into.  Take a look at them, and you'll get an idea of which ones you'll want to add the code to.  Here's an example:

  10. Weapons ending up way to shiny ingame

    did you copy the earthenvmap file into your mod's texture folder as well?  Not positive that it's necessary, but it might make a difference.

    I've got a strange bug... I just imported an item/texture using BRF edit, and now my map text is all funky.  All villages/towns are white, I am green, bandits are red.  Any idea what I messed up?

    edit: problem fixed.  somehow deleted the show_faction_color=1 line from my module.ini.

    Hail, veteran modders.  I'm a complete beginner when it comes to this stuff, I started yesterday, so forgive my ignorance.  I'm trying to add a new faction, based out of Tihr.  I added their lord, one knight, and a troop line to troops.py, added the faction in factions.py, added the (hopefully)...

    depends on whether you could patch in the 'secret feature' later while staying save game compatible.  If so, you could release now and let people get their games started, bug hunt, etc, while working at your own pace on that feature.  If not, you might as well just wait till you've got it in, if it's close.
  17. Cheap Tricks and Good Tactics

    I use the time consuming but highly satisfying tactic of levelling 8 companions up to level 30 or so, and outfitting them with extremely heavy plate, an assortment of tempered blades, and masterwork war bows.  Once the weapon proficiencies reach 250 or so, with powerstrike and powerdraw 10, they're just scary.  I've seen baheshtur kill 4 defending lords in succession at the top of a siege ramp, even after eating upwards of 5 arrows on his way up.  It made me so proud!  *sniff*

    What are your plans for the antarans?  Right now all of their units look pretty much the same... ie, plated behemoths.  Maybe add some color or heraldry or something?
  19. Bug Reports

    I stumbled accross a strange bug in v3... not sure if it's been reported yet.  I currently have 5 regiments following me, with 100-120 troops each.  When I attack someone, it says all of the regiments have joined the battle, yet on the battle screen it says I only have ~200 troops.  This only started happening once the regiments started collecting a large variety of freed prisoners.  Is it possible that I'm exceeding the allowed number of troop types in a battle?  Is there such thing as an allowed number of participating troop types?  Anyone else have this problem?
