    Health Regen?

Thanks for the help and support guys. It's nice to see that some people actually support me on this.

I haven't been working on this for the last 2 days or so, but now I've gotten through part of that tutorial to where I can compile the scripts in Notepad + or whatever. I'm not quite sure how I'm supposed to interject that piece of code into an existing mod though, without wrecking the existing mission templates and such (for complex mods with custom missions and such. Brytenwalda for example).

I hate to ask for more help, but does anyone know how I can do that exactly? I'm really excited to be figuring some of this stuff out for myself, but I really don't want to mess anything up in my game. Thanks for any assistance and thanks again for everything else so far.

    Health Regen?

Thanks for the quick reply, and I'm glad you like my picture. (We named him Darren Bradley, after our local weatherman at the time. He was also chubby, hehe )

I've tried to add a code that I found in other topics to my mission templates.txt in the mod I wanted my regen script in before this, but all it did was make some error saying I had made too many changes to something. Like: Error: 256 changes detected. 10 Max allowed. Something like that. No clue where I was supposed to put it in the .Txt file, but clearly I did it wrong. I've looked for the Python files (isn't that what .py files are?) but couldn't find them.

Do you know where I might be able to find that file or where in the script I need to write my regen code? Sorry to ask for so much, I just have no idea what I'm doing, though I'm willing to learn.  I'd really rather not just ask everyone do my work for me, so I'll happily do it as long as I know how to. Thanks for the help so far, and for any more you are willing to give.

    Health Regen?

Hi, I really love playing Warband, but I was wondering if there is a way to make a mod that allows the player to regenerate health slowly over time during battle. Like most people, I get sick of getting a javelin to the head at the start of a battle and having to hide in the distance like a...

    Health Regeneration?

Yeah, I know it's kind of funny considering the whole blood loss feature, but I just wish there were a way to gain some health back just in case I take a really bad hit at the beginning of a huge battle. I don't have the time I used to to play, and it's really frustrating to lose a battle that has taken 20 minutes just because some jerk threw a javelin into my skull from one side of the castle to the other when I'm low on HP. I'd just like to have  some insurance without using flat out cheats, you know? I know lots of people think health regen is cheap, and I know it sort of is, I admit it. I just want to be able to play the game and enjoy it with the small amount of time I get to play, instead of wasting it because I got unlucky at the beginning of the fight. I don't even want some overpowered regen that makes you nigh invincible, that's way too cheap; I just want something that maybe gives me a little bit of health if I hang back for a while (even just 1 HP every 2 or 3 seconds even).

So if anyone knows how I can add it to my game, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

    We have great news!

This IS great news indeed! I used to love this mod, and to hear that the singleplayer may soon be complete?... =)
Great work, I'm really happy to hear that someone else liked this mod enough to want to see it brought back. I mean, I would have done it.... but I know next to nothing about modding, ha.
Either way, I totally support this 100%. Good luck with the project; I can't wait to see it complete.

Incidentally, any idea when it will be complete? I'm not trying to be pushy or anything; it would just be nice to know when to look forward to it. Thanks.

    [Idea]Perks, traits and flaws

Yeah, when I was writing those down; I be no means meant for them to be absolute, just examples. I know a few of them were over powered, and some balance would need to be done, but I thought some would be fun. Again, I know nothing of coding/modding but perhaps it would be possible to implement an on/off switch in the camp menu. Serious/Realistic players could choose to shut off traits, as they may seem unbalanced or unrealistic. Everyone else can leave them on. We both win.

    [Idea]Perks, traits and flaws

Thanks, nice to see that someone actually likes my ideas. I once posted some mod ideas in a different topic and never even got a reply. I can come up with a few more traits. No idea if/how any of these might work, but some seem fun. Some of these may be helpful, some may be harmful, some are just fun. (Including the names)
    Name                                Description                                  Prerequisites                                  Effects
Tournament LegendYour skill in the Tournaments is legendary. All of that practice has also made you better at real battle as well.Win 20 Tournaments.+300 Renown, +20HP, +1 "Power Skills", +1 Tactics
Donald TrumpYou know that the true path to riches lies in wise investing.Invest in 10 businesses throughout Calradia.+3 Barter, Businesses produce 10% more income.
MerchantYou know the power of coin and have learned how to use it to your advantage.Spend 250,000 Denars total.+3 Barter&Persuasion
That is Spartan Law.No retreat. No surrender. You have won 100 battles without fail.Win 100 consecutive battles. (Do not be defeated, retreat, or surrender.)+3 Leadership&Tactics
This is where we fight and where they die!Like a true Spartan, you fought a battle against impossible odds...and won.Win a battle where you are outnumbered by a force at least 5 times larger than yourself. Minimum battle size must at least be 100 VS. 500.+15HP, +100 Renown, +1 to all "Battle Skills"
No Mercy, No CompromiseYour willingness to take human life is appalling. Couldn't you have used a blunt weapon?Kill 1,000 humans throughout your career.+100 Renown, +15% Damage inflicted.(Just like the "Power Skills")
Saintly AuraYou are such a wonderful person, that you practically glow.50+ Honor, 250+Enemies Spared(Knocked out rather than killed),Completed at least 10 selfless quests(Complete quest+Refuse Reward).+25 Honor, +10 Relationship with all villages&Towns as well as Honorable Lords, Slow Health Regen in battle.
No Scope?Trick Shots? Check. Long range? Check. (BOOM!)Headshots? Check. Your ability to shoot is unrivaled. Now if you only had someway for the world to see you in action. (Hehe, montage joke)Achieve at least 25 headshots as well as a shot difficulty of 14.4 *at least once* in your career. +50 to Cross& Regular Bow skills+2 Power Draw, +2 Horse Archery.

I could come up with more, but I think this is good for now. I hope that you like at least one or two of these(or at least get a laugh at them). I have plenty of other ideas that aren't related to this topic, but that I still think would be good. I can post them somewhere if you would like.

    [Idea]Perks, traits and flaws

I don't know how possible/impossible this would be, but traits that could be earned rather than only picked would be cool too. For example; Sturdy-"Take 1000/2500/5000 damage over your entire career without being knocked out. +10/25/50 health or slow Regen. Note- if you were knocked out, you don't lose the trait, just lose the ability to get the next level of it or maybe the counter just resets so you aren't doomed.
Merciful-"Your reluctance to take a human life is admirable. Knock out 100/250/so on enemies rather than kill them. Maybe +10/25 Prisoner Capacity or instant boost to Honor?
These are just a few quick ideas. I always think it's fun when a game awards me for playing differently than others/challenging myself, so I thought that these could be really fun. Again, I don't know if anything like this is even possible, but I thought they might be cool.

DOWNLOAD link, Credits & OLD TOPIC (+ POLL)

Wow, this mod looks great. Using the French/Indian War and Last of the Mohicans is a cool concept, as I like the feel of being able to "change history" by choosing sides. I noticed you were also making a 1776 mod; just wondering if there is any info on it yet. Also, I tried to add one of the pictures to my profile, but clearly messed something up.( Sorry, I've never really owned a computer so it's all kind of new to me and I am clearly a "computard".) Good luck with this mod. By the way, if you haven't already, has anyone ever thought of adding a unique weapon called "La Longue Carabine" as a reference to the book? Thought it might be cool.

    Singleplayer

    Badun 说:
As you see, William is doing the whole mod on his own.

Haha, I can't believe I missed that when I was reading through the first time. I guess this is what happens when you only sleep like 2 hours due to playing Warband all night huh?  :???:

    Singleplayer

Seriously, you can play the normal singleplayer game for now just fine. I've been playing it and I am freaking hooked. Riding around a battlefield at full speed and shooting an M1911 at a group of Sea Raiders in the distance is a thrill. Honestly, this mod is great for both Single and Multiplayer right now. So for now; we should just thank William and the group for making this for us, and enjoy it. Plus, the less time we bother them, the more time we have to play (and the more time they have to finish the mod up.)

Mod idea collection: I want this mod.

I'm sure this has been suggested somewhere in here, (not reading 227 pages) but I think a "Monster Hunter inspired" mod would be amazing. I'm not saying we rip that game off, but something like it. Including monsters and other fantasy creatures could be very interesting if done right, if it's even possible. The basic ideas I had were:
1.) The mod is inspired by Monster Hunter, so creatures we could fight could range from dinosaurs (raptors, T-Rex, even some non-hostile herbivores maybe) to real life "creatures" (Wolves, bears, deer). Of course, some fantasy creatures would be in as well. Dragons, wyverns, centaurs, anything cool.

2.) After fighting the creatures, the loot screen would give obvious "loot" like meat and bones; but hides, scales, claws, teeth and other parts could be gathered from certain creatures. They could have varying qualities and be sold for a good price if you get a high quality item. Maybe there could even be a way to "craft" items based off the creature. Maybe some secret smith has a list of weapons and armor that you "trade" certain items for.

3.) Creatures operate like bandits, in a sense. They have no faction standing and can attack anyone. Some monsters, like dragons, may even attack villages or even castles and cities.

4.) Quests could be included that relate to hunting down certain monster groups. They could operate just like the "find the group of bandits" quests. Nothing special, but fun.

5.) Change to the skill system. I played one mod that had the "Power" skills (Draw, Strike, Throw) and "shield" removed. I liked this because I always hated how your shields magically got stronger, in a sense, just because of a skill. I prefer the game to be based off my skill, more than my characters.

6.) In addition to #5, maybe a "Beast Slaying" skill could be included. It would sort of be a combo of a few existing skills, tweaked to fit this mod. Each rank includes: + 5% damage to creatures. Maybe the ability to capture them like normal troops and +5/10/20, some number, to your hold limit. And maybe at certain ranks you can even "recruit beast prisoners" and use them as troops, or like the riding skill, be able to use them as mounts. Higher skill requirement for better creatures.

I have some other ideas, but this has gone on for a while. Plus, I have no idea if any of this is even possible to make, much less if anyone would be interested in trying to. If anyone else is truly interested in this, I can come up with more stuff later.
