    open that folder and check if the files were created after compilation (build_module.bat). You can see the date of last modified for each file like scripts.txt. If not, something is wrong either with your path or you lack permission to change files (Windows).

    Interesting the module folder's text file are not being updated. I scroll down in the directory containing the module and I see this dump of text files from complilation(date of edit verified) , the text files are ex: ModuleNameTextFileName.txt .
    I checked my slashes in module_info.py and I don't see anything there that would cause this.
    Why is this happening?

    I'm adding items from a firearms osp to native. I believe I got all the prerequisite steps in having the resources and textures for the osp situated. My intention is not to modify a preexisting item entry, and tutorials seem based on using preexisting item entries. The osp came with item codes for module_items.py in module system. I added the item codes after the bows/crossbow entries in module_items.py . After building the module, these osp items didn't appear in Morgh's Editor and didn't appear in items_kinds1.txt in module folder.
    It appears that the module system is not building the new items.
    Is this true? How do I fix this?

    I've gone through the settings with the module system.
    The command line interface from building the module didn't show any problems.
    Everything seems to check out.

    CrEaToXx thanks for letting me know I didn't have the latest version, the main link on the Cartographer thread showed 2014.5.22 . Although that didn't quite solved the dds issue. I look forward to seeing your video tutorial.
    NPC99 thanks for addressing where I need to find these files and where to put them. I wish that fact was addressed in the Cartographer Wiki on Swyter's bitbucket.

    I misspoke on a few things about targeting the module folder, I had already properly setup the module system config and the Cartographer config as you guys described.

    Cartographer was able to successfully start after these changes.

    Interestingly I read around "The Forge" that Cartographer was more ideal than Thorgrim's map editor, your discussion seem to contradict that. I was actually planning on using Blender.
    So what is the best method of entirely editing the world map? I'd want to be on the right track before continuing my project.

    Could it have to do with Cartographer's intended use for original Mount and Blade? I'm trying to use it for my Warband mod. I had the thought when looking through the files on Swyter's SWC which is Mount and Blade with patch for Warband. I found a FONT_SWC.dds file there while .dds files couldn't be found in the other Warband mods downloaded. Renaming the Data folder in my module to Font akin to the original MB didn't change anything.

    Right I did see those two posts prior and attempted to edit the lua code to ignore the xml and dds but apparently they are needed with the log saying something about global variables.
    I do have the latest version 2014.05.22
