I forgot to update I think; I was able to auto resolve, I then sieged the same settlement later after it was captured and I had no issues, so it seemed like some weird one off type situation, not sure what triggered the errors, although I still think it has to do with the fluid combat mods.
So, it appears that the problem has just magically fixed itself. I saw back down to the game several hours later, updated some mods, opted back into beta 1.3 so it reinstalled itself, launched the game with the same mods and boom, saves all good. Weird stuff.
Might have been related to fluid blocking and attacking mod, I'm getting similar issues, although I'm able to load the save files without crashing, but going into the same siege, whenever I click, I get errors until crashing. Might have to set a custom load order as instructed by the creator.
**EDIT
Nevermind, as soon as I click begin assault, I get the same crash as I posted in the first post. That's unfortunate, only issue with sieging I've ever had.
Summary: Auto save allows you to fight a siege in a generic lord's hall. How to Reproduce: Besiege a castle or town, start the battle and hope the game auto saves, exit the game, load the auto save and fight. Quest/Settlement Name (if related): Any castle or town, but it requires the game to auto save at the start of the battle. The glitch has been tested on the following locations: Danustica, Husn Fulq, Akiser Castle, Chanopsis Castle, Corenia Castle, Erzenur Castle, Gaos Castle, Hakkun Castle, Khimli Castle, Lavenia Castle, Melion Castle, Odrysa Castle, Simira Castle, Shibal Zumr Castle, and Varagos Castle. I have been able to do this more than once at some castles when the enemy kingdom took it back. Media (Screenshots & Video): Version: e1.1.0.226038 Installed community-made modifications: None

here is the file. You'll need atleast bannertweaks with modlib to try and load things up I think, otherwise I can provide more or less what mods I had.
Hopefully someone can help, as this will be the second playthrough I'll lose that I made good progress in due to random save file corruption or what have you - although I'm doubtful.
I launched a siege on a castle, the siege loaded, but immediately the game froze. I alt f4'd, when trying to...
Anyone not able to load their save? I updated to 1.3 and when I press load, things freeze for a second and then nothing. Normally the little box pops up mentioning loading different modules. This even happens with no mods running.
*edit
For some reason updating to 1.3 RIP'd my save. Just hours earlier I was playing just fine. I found the saved formations mod was causing issues, maybe it corrupted my save. Damn, this sucks. Was able to load an earlier save from yesterday, but it's just so far behind in progress... can't be bothered.
The crossbow and bow perks don't work for me. If you look at the way the perks are set up, it kind of makes sense that you have two chances to get the perk from different skill trees, however the problem is that neither perk works. The additional ammo perks don't work either.
I guess you may be right, I suppose you don't have to choose the perk in either case, although somehow logically it doesn't make sense, the perk requires you to be a proficient horse rider and bow user, so to have it in both seems redudant. In general I think the perk system maybe needs an overhaul.
And yea, I'm pretty sure none of the perks work and it's noted somewhere on the steam page that they won't until later.
After every reload, I have to reassign all of my troops and companions their formation assignments such as cav, archer cav, etc. This is super annoying, please fix this sooner than later if possible.
There are two of the same perk unlock "use any bow on horseback". One is in the bow skill (mounted archer skill level 100) and the other in the horse skill (bow expert skill level 125).
