I agree with you, by shifting the multiplayer beta up a gear, making it open to collect more data would  probably benefit them more than focusing on blog entries. However it would put my mind at rest if they would communicate such an intent first

What's going on over in Taleworlds' HQ?! Have they begun their festivities early being the last friday till Christmas break!?

Has this re-re-recap blog been pushed under the carpet and flooded with cheap cava ,cocktail sausages and bad office banter (a la UK The Office Christmas special)

I thought the bi-weekly schedule was put in place to allow more beta
involvement  and more coherent bloggedy blogness.

I'm sure Taleworlds will rock our socks off with early access but I have to admit my foundations are being shaken a bit when they are failing to commit to a bi-weekly deadline. The new forums which were slated for release what, three weeks ago? I can't be the only one who is beginning to have healthy skepticism about the early access end of March release window.

Then again,  I of course don't  know what's holding things up and I'll support Taleworlds in their endeavors regardless.

The Great Poll about textile Colour

Anyone noticed how in this current patch they have attempted to alleviate this a bit?

Some armours including vlandian peasants,  vlandian troops wearing cloth mantles and the vlandian gambesons now vary slightly in saturation of colour.

    Faction colours and Clan heraldry

I too was excited at the prospect of a custom banner editor and  reveled at the sight of the natural looking heralded emblazoned on the vlandian shields and banners during the 2017 sergeant gameplay. There were various vlandian clans in the battle and they ALL had red and white in their clan crests and so were still thematic and unified.

The current system is undeniably a downgrade and in my opinion actually hinders gameplay. How on earth am I supposed to determine what clan is what when every Crest has the same backdrop and a diminished sigil.

To add insult to injury the latest media they have uploaded to the steam storepage  shows a battanian shiltron repelling a vlandian charge with both factions using the old banner system....

Bitterly, bitterly disappointed with this 'streamlining'

I may very well be wrong, but I don't ever recall them talking about putting on the finishing touches before this year, at least not anywhere near as much as they have been saying (and showing) recently. They did say they were planning on releasing a couple years back, but I don't recall them ever mentioning "polishing" or "finishing touches."

If I'm wrong, could anyone point me to where they said that?

I''ve been doing some digging around to try and pin a date to such comments, this is what I've found:

E3 2017 Sergeant reveal , translation from Turkish to English. Look at the bottom of the script

Yeah, it was a year ago. After trawling through almost every blog since mid-way 2017 that's what I've found.

In 2018 the blogs have focused more on core components of the game though:  Camelry (lolol), Engine 1.4, siege engines (although we knew this long before), castle design (excellent blog), productive enterprises, horses, recruitment system (knew some of this before hand), new campaign map and town menu.

P.S as someone who really enjoys trying to pick out snippets of info from blogs/ really looks forward to weekly blogs, it is really refreshing to go back and have a look at previously released info. There is a lot!

For those of you who are stating that the game looks terrible:

I really don't know what you are expecting? The game has to be optimised for hundreds (at least 500+) soldiers on the screen, possibly at the same time whilst being playable on a range of rigs. We simply cannot expect top notch fidelity, with an in-house engine and a development agenda which has to focus on more things than just eye candy. A game can look fantastic and yet can play terribly (A la Far Cry 5) for me that game was all killer no filler.

Besides I am confident that you'll have your jizzsocks out at the ready when fresh gameplay arrives at Gamescon. If not then I don't know what you are doing on the Bannerlord forum, enjoy the games you like to play

For those talking about release dates:

Yes it is true that we have no idea when the game will be released (I'm sure the devs have an idea but will certainly not share it until the final lap) and everything else is speculation. But I really find it difficult to believe that the game will be coming out later than 2019. The developers themselves had said that they are putting the finishing touches (or something to that effect). Yes they have ran over deadlines before hand but that only goes to support a pre 2020 release as they would be more hesitant to make such a statement unless it was genuine. I know nothing about game developement so I could just be naive and dreaming but note that none of recent screenshots have work in progress on them anymore, which I would assume means they are satisfied with their aesthetics/engine etc.

EDIT: why are all my posts gigantic? Is something wrong with me? I guess it's the hype. The hype is catching up to me once more... Goddamn it, TaleWorlds, you're psychologically pressuring me to place my bets on gamescon... Yeah, it's your fault, not mine. I'm perfectly fine.

I for one like reading larger posts when they are full of well-constructed arguments/opinions such as yours Monoolho

I too am succumbing to the building hype of Gamescom as well as the mention of a new Bannerlord website "In the near future" (likely around Gamescom).

I can't be the only person who is feeling like the really are beginning to 'wrap things up' so to speak?

I really enjoyed this weeks blog and there was plenty of comments to look into:

"making profits for the owner of the caravan ,who can be a well-known merchant in a town, or even the player themselves" ( It's great to see that important townspeople aren't just bound to their settlements but can also be met in the field. Also maybe we can own our own caravans, this relates to the blog about mounts, there was something mentioned about donkeys being used for caravans.)

"the clan leader is also responsible for nearly all of the expense issues" ( a deeper management of warbands/ military hosts?)

travelling long distances without entering a town makes soldiers tired and decreases their morale ( A great feature in my opinion as it means that decisions on campaign would have to be more decisive. Shall I chase that lord into the wilderness or resupply in a friendly city?)

I do have one small gripe though and it is entirely personal. The banners. Whilst the models for the lords are fantastic, the banners are just too small for my liking and are generic. It would great to see a variation in banner size and shape that reflect the culture that the character is associated with. maybe larger more elaborate banners reflecting your position in the kingdom. A duke having say a larger  gilded banner with tassels and a minor noble with a simple canvas banner. Some customisation is always welcome, especially seeing as it is known to us that we are going to receive a banner emblem customisation tool. At any rate the emblem on the current flags are too small in my opinion.

Of course, this can be modded in, just my two cents (pennies actually, im English)

Bannerlord has a FMV replay editor. The controls may be from that - the screenshot may have been taken from a replay video.

What exactly is an FMV replay editor? are you suggesting that the image is taken directly from screen capture or something?

After a lot of thought, I have realised however that the screenshot is of the player before he/she has actually entered the city and thus isn't in a scene yet. I suppose when the player decides to enter, he/she will be transported to the city scene and then time will be static.

All speculation but still interesting, especially seeing as the developers had stated that they were at least looking into methods of implementing coop to a degree.

On a side note, has anyone noticed those great whacking roads/footpaths leading away from the city into the woods? Maybe there is actually a road layout that connects settlements together this time, as apposed to the token few roads that were present in Warband (mainly in Swadia).

So after five years of 'lurking' the forums as 'guest' I have made an account. Hello to you all

The reason why I felt compelled to post was because I had felt people had missed a small detail regarding the possibilities of coop in Bannerlord and this recent blog.

KhergitLancer80 has already highlighted two features of the city interface which could at the very least make coop 'easier to implement':

It seems like this blog confirmed two of my suggestions about the Co-op campaign right Duh ?

1- We will be able to handle our business with NPC's inside towns via city panel.
    KhergitLancer80 说:
    +Duh

    - You can't do any quests that require visiting scenes if not in the same party/location.

No, you can. I say talking to guild master option must be available in city panel when playing coop. Or talking to a village elder option must be available in village panel.

You just wont be able to take a walk. But with these extended panels that enables you to talk to people directly, you wont have to.

2-By not making city screen full screen, this will make players visiting towns and looking at city panel able to track the campaign map.
    KhergitLancer80 说:
Both of these discuss issues of being in a menu while time passes. That can easily be extended to other menus that have an effect on the game like a diplomacy panel or trading a city from one lord while another lord conquers it, etc.

wait... what about continuing to show the real world map on top right ? Or in the bottom right ? Or draggable to any place you want ?
I dont want to hype any of you for no good reason people but TW suspiciously took a lot of decisions that will help them in the future to implement a coop campaign. I mean these were my suggestions not that they have read my suggestions I wrote them about just 2 weeks ago and in fact the first suggestion seem to be implemented way before because we can see npc portraits in veeeery earlier screenshots as well. Butstill great minds think alike  So I by luck may have come to the same solution thinking over the problems.

    EDIT:
OMG ! They even implemented a backstreet visiting option to the city panel !
People, the possibiltyof TW thinking of a coop really increases.

But has anyone noticed the fact that the controls for timeflow are present whilst viewing the city interface? :
    https://imgur.com/kixIPRm

I as much as anyone else would like to see a fully fleshed coop implemented, even though there are clear limitations to this, chiefly the fact that the game pauses whenever the player stops/is off of the world map. But having the game run in the background, whilst visiting a city? Could be an interesting if frustrating solution at times. The community would likely be split on this decision but as always having the option for continual time flow or not would be great.

PS: Please do not be too harsh on my forum etiquette and posting proficiency, this the very first post I have made on the unforgiving internet!
