Yah, this is forcing clans to stay in pub games and smash the heck out of solo players. Neither solo players nor competitive players want this regressive change. The fact that we have to rig the queue and synch searching to play against another team is already ridiculous. What's more ironic is that the modes for Multiplayer that Taleworlds have made were made to be MORE competitive than Warband's with the flag play stuff and the necessary teamwork needed to win a game, so Taleworlds is essentially shooting itself in the foot if it wants to wade into team-based multiplayer gameplay.
