    Beta Patch Notes e1.6.3

Hi there. I am a huge fan of permadeath/ironman mode affecting the main character. Could anyone please tell me if the developers intend to bring at some point this feature back to the game menu as an option? Thanks in advance.

    This looks great TaleWorlds.

I have faith in you, devs. Warband already is an epic game. As I have already said a couple of times on my previous posts, just enhance a bit of everything here and there (game-play elements mostly) and everything will be fine in the end. Just make Bannerlord be situated in a place somewhere 50% more elevated or better than Warband is, and you guys will have my eternal gratitude.

How does a shiny map destroy gameplay?

    It doesn't.

As long as it will not unnecessarily drain TaleWorlds's resources in that direction, and as long as it will not sacrifice game-play, I'm ok with it. What I meant is shinny graphics shouldn't be a priority.

If, however, the developers can accommodate all of it, then it will be all for the best.

Looking forward to when the map is revealed, it would be pretty cool if it would take on more of a total war look.

I would rather have the game stick with the Mount and Blade look. After all, it's Mount and Blade, not Total War.

    Let's just release Warband again...

How the **** can one not want a ******** improvement over the ******** previous game? It's a new ******** game. NEW. I don't get you, people. ©

How about you calm down. I have nothing against improving the M&B map with better looks, more detail, borders, etc. But changing the map to a game-board-like system in the Total War games is not an improvement, it is a complete change.

And it would be a complete change for the worse. Maps are fine as they are in Warband. Moreover, I think Rome 2 is a horrible game, despite its beautiful shinny graphics. Engaging game-play is what really counts for me at the end of the day.

Even Total War's battle mechanics are in my opinion boring and outdated. Babysitting 40 oblivious units on the battlefield map is not exactly my idea of having fun. Admittedly, this sort of battle mechanics could be rightly considered as cool and innovative back in 2004. Not anymore.

You guys are sitting on the best game franchise of its genre of all time!!! Your combat system is amazing, the characters, items and locations are gorgeous. Please, please make this game what it should be! Flesh out the world, include lots of quests (quest chains, rise to power quests, trade quests, diplomacy,.. MORE MORE), include more kingdom management options, lots of them! The strategic layer of the game should be far more easy to expand than the combat/interface. It is just lines of text with dialogues and options, come on! Include more battle commands and formations!

If modders can do these things you can do it even better. With simple text mods have created great kingdom management options, diplomacy options, new quests,... Please make M&B II complete and the best game ever!

Look at Paradox and their Crusader Kings/Europa Universalis franchise. For a long time they have been niche games that only extreme strategy lovers would touch, but when they decided/could really invest in their games they became main stream games that are all over the gaming news. They went from being obscure strategy titles to launching a new era of strategy gaming on the PC. You can do the same for the action/strategy simulation! In Crusader Kings the core gameplay (managing your dinasty and conquering land) did not change, same as the combat in M&B only needs minor improvement, but then they redid the UI to be more player friendly and more important included lots and lots of events that make players feel like each game is a unique story they create and the game just blew in sales. This is what you can do. Flesh out the locations, those beautiful locations you have shown in the screenshots? Give is something to do in there! Make more quests and events! Lots and lots of them! Marriages, treason, random events, opportunities to be a hero or to be a scoundrel. Make each game play a unique story that gives us the feeling it is ours, we live it, and it will be different that anyone elses. Do this and you will make the best game ever!
I believe you can do it!

I share your views and your enthusiasm on this subject, Klarum.

Don't get me wrong, EU4 and CK2 are two of my all time favorite games. Still, I have never had more fun in my entire life playing any single player game than I did with Mount and Blade Warband.  Bannerlord has so much potential that it makes it even hard to imagine what it will be like.

The foundations are solid and have already been set in Warband. All TaleWorlds need to do is expand even further that glorious and truly unique delicious game into something better.

My humble advice to the developers is this: Keep things simple. Mount and Blade Warband already is a very solid and fun game (one of the best single player games ever made), which means nothing needs to be drastically changed at all.

Simply improve the few areas of the game that could be made even better , enhance the graphics a bit here and there, and that’s all. Keep things simple! The Warband foundations are rock-solid and don’t need to be altered.

Will I be able to befriend the belligerent drunk in Bannerlord? Cause I think it would be really cool to get wasted with him in the tavern and scare the newcomers.

It looks beautiful guys. Keep up the good work!

welcome to the world of mount & blade addicts, my friend

Yes, it's truly shocking when you see people writing they've played this sick game for more than 2000 hours, and yet you don't feel the least surprised.

Rome 2 total war I bet

How did you guess? I bought Mount and Blade Warband last month and have already put 150 hours playing the bloody game. On the hand, Rome 2 has not reached 20 hours yet.

I care very little about how often the developers talk or how long will it take for Mount and Blade Bannerlord to come out.

What I really want is a great game. Mount and Blade Warband is one of the best single player games ever made (too bad I could only learn about it a month ago), and the mods provided by this community are also outstanding. If all that has been achieved could only be repeated and 50% further improved, then I will be very happy.

The developers should take their time - take as long as it takes, and feel zero pressure over their shoulders. It will be ready whenever it’s ready. In the meantime, there are plenty of other good games to keep us entertained, including Mount and Blade Warband and its wonderful mods.

Give me a hug! It's nice to see newer people understand Taleworlds instead of just posting a wall of text of what they want in the game.

There are already so many bad and soulless games rushed out of the door, so many false promises. And this partly happens because of deadlines, though it’s not the only reason, of course.
I am sure we all want Bannerlord NOT to be one more sad game fitting those awful statistics, right?

Going a bit off topic here, I found a player's review talking about a very famous game recently released. It goes like this (and that’s all I don’t want Taleworlds to become in the future):

“Game industry is stalled, goal isn't anymore to make good creative games, it's just all about making something fancy and give false expectations to players so they buy the game, then promise more functionality in paid DLC's or the next game in the series, so people go and buy the next game in the series which added very little to the previous one, sometimes its even less detailed... this is just sad”.

After many years playing TW games and Paradox Games, I am really glad I have recently tried Mount and Blade Warband!

I can say for sure that never have I had so much joy playing a single player game in my entire life - I simply have no words to describe how awesome Mount and Blade Warband is! The mods provided by the community are also superb. Oh boy, and I once thought this was a childish and simple game only made for casual players. I was soooo wrong. This game is at least one thousand times more fun and complex than all of the TW games vanilla ever released.

Keep up the good work lads! I am definitely looking forward to the sequel, it will be a blast!
