Very nice update. Animated faces make the world feel that much more alive. Will the mouths be synced with voices, yelling etc?

News on multiplayer for M&B, and Expansion details

Well, most expansion packs don't add multiplayer. Plenty of expansions are basically just extra levels for the original game - new assets with no new mechanics so to speak.

I'd certainly be happy to pay for this expansion. They put the work in and did a good job, they should be payed for it. I, like many others,  payed less ($15) for this game, because at the time it was unfinished, and I was helping out (I hope!) in a small way as a sort of tester. So in a sense there's never been any simple charity here (and nor should there be) - just a clever release scheme which seems to have worked out well for everyone!

That's all quite true.  I started in .808, bought it for myself and a friend.  However, personally, I don't care so much about the multiplayer.  Yes, blasphemy and all that.  But think about it.  M&B is a game that basically requires things to work instantly, and I don't know of any multiplayer, barring direct LAN, that doesn't have network lag causing problems, especially when melee starts getting involved.  God knows, even with DSL, I've been shot around corners by enemy snipers in stuff like TF2 more times than I can count.

I'd personally rather have the non-MP improvements than the MP.  If it were some kinda co-op that I could play with my buddy, I'd be more willing to pay.  But just deathmatch?  Doesn't interest me.  And there's where the problem comes in.  Do I have to buy the expansion just to get the patched stuff (In-engine HDR, although it doesn't look very good in those pics, the normal mapping, better AI, what have you)?  I hope not, otherwise I would be obliged to say it's milking.

Is it impossible to assume we can get it all?

News on multiplayer for M&B, and Expansion details

New to these forums first post. Huge fan of the game. this comes as a bit of a shock to me as all I have been dreaming about was if this game had multiplayer of any sort. This is a great start.

As far as the lag concern goes into play I'm not sure how relevant this would be but as a 2d fighting game fan where lag can destroy gameplay one company has found a solution that works pretty well.

    How does it work?

GGPO uses a peer-to-peer topology to run a complete copy of your game for each player, transmitting controller inputs over the network to keep these copies in sync. Each player's inputs are sent to their copy of the game without having to wait for their opponent's to arrive over the network.

If the simulations diverge, GGPO rolls back to the most recent accurate state, corrects the mistake, and jumps back to the current frame, all before the player can notice. This provides the illusion of lag-free gameplay.

Now being a 3d combat game and being server based I'm not sure if input syncing and rollbacks could even be possible but I figured it be worth a mention.

Thank you for all the work you've done. Truly a game with a great base I'm glad to see it grow.
