    Eastern horses could get quite big, ever hear of a Nisean horse? The Eastern Roman Empire would have had access to big horses too. What you are taking about are native horse breeds northern Europe, but there were more than just those.

    I would imagine in a game line Bannerlord the main quest is one of the last things you do. You need to get the world built, and all the mechanics and the models done first. It's not like Witcher or Skyrim where the story dictates the content, more like the other way around.

    What are you saying there are no Nords? There are.

    They are mixed with the Vaegirs to make one faction called Sturgia. Nords will make up most of their infantry and they will also have a sub faction that is entirely Nordic.

    Nords are going to be in the game, they'll be a major part of one faction instead of a faction of their own. They also hinted in this blog that they might have an expansion in the future to add the Nord homeland to the game.

    Anyone who is familiar with the lore should know that Nords didn't come to Calradia in force until after the Empire fell. Right now they appear as adventurers and mercenaries but there is no Nord state on the continent of Calradia. That's the lore like it or not, their part in the Sturgian faction should be enough.


    Personally the Nords were always my least favourite faction in Warband anyway. Their armies suck because they have no cavalry and their existence totally clashes with the high medieval appearance of the other factions.

    Does that mean there will be a future map expansion DLC? and it will add in the Nord homeland which is across the sea and outside Calradia? That is VERY interesting.

    This game is set historically from around the time of the dark ages up to 12th century so no, tournaments would not have been a thing then.

    But really does it matter so much? They were an important thing in Warband and I wouldn't like to see them cut out a cool feature. Also the historical timeline in Warband was more than a little fishy, like they had vikings from the dark ages mixed in with Saracans from the Crusades and Italians from the high middle ages. I'm sure Bannerlord will be equally ambiguous.

    What about having different events in tournaments too? Like you could have melee, jousting and archery.

    Melee: Everyone fights in a big mosh pit.
    Jousting: You charge at each other with a lance to knock them out in elimination rounds.
    Archer: Shooting targets highest score wins the round.

    I think this is a really good idea. Tournaments need to be harder , A unique weapon or armour piece that is only attainable in the competition as well as a payout. The top tier match , the Ai needs to be really difficult and challenging. That way a tournament is more rewarding if you succeed.

    Also there should be fewer tournaments, but make them a big deal like you said.

    They should be massive world cup type events which are challenging and hugely rewarding. But maybe only have them every 3 months or something?

    Tournaments are fun the first couple of times in warband but then they get repetitive and easy and kind of pointless since you only make like 500 gold.

    Merely a thought that repeated wounds or damage could be permenant, if people want permadeath half the time why not perma-injury?

    Could be pretty frustrating. What if you got both of your legs broken and then the fighting moved on before anyone killed you. You would be stuck where you were for the rest of the game.

    Huh, I never thought of that but it's a good idea. The main thing that stopped me from playing certain game mode was the long waiting times between battles. If there was a mini game or maybe training against AI opponents or whatever then that would be great.

    Lol I love how a blog post about Vlandians resulted in a 4 page discusison on Sturgians. Does anyone have anything to say about the blog post?

    I think they sound good, but might be a little OP. They are basically the Rhodoks and Swadians rolled into one faction.
