  1. ⚔️ Artems Video Thread: Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord ⚔️

PoP. There are a lot of good mods for mount and blade, but PoP was a level above the rest for polish, balance and new features. I would also like to see Viking remake. It was a lot of fun having a good story to drive you forward.
  2. The Arquebus

Conquistadoro?  idk.  Anyway the firearm is cool and relatively well balanced.
  3. Upgraded Silvermeist troops are fantastic!

I created Silvermist KO chapter and put in loads of money to upgrade them - and now they are better than Noldor! If you're not planning on making CKO but want to play with regular KO then this is a very wise choice. I did the same with Larians, however, it just wasn't as good and they are used by others so your money helps them as well which might not be optimal.

    They are super cool troops.
  4. Handle a large army

This is one of the wonderful nuggets of this mod.  It forces you to make hard choices.  Sure, you can field an army of HA's (or any elite troops), for a while.  Your coffers will suffer dearly, and you can't keep it up forever.
  5. Favorite melee weapons

Early on when my stats/skills are pretty lame, I like the light lance.  It's easy to thrust and you can get some couch damage too (once Dobbin has reached full speed  )
The D'shar sabre (?) is nice, decent damage and good reach, it's also easy to find.
Later on I prefer Ebony weapons, my Mettenheim style chap is still searching for the Ebony Flamberge of his dreams  :fruity:

Agree. I actually really dig a fine light lance.  Great utility.  Learned the hard way however against a Jatu lancer that reach matters.

    But I love the Noldor.
  8. Favorite melee weapons

What about the Flame Bladed? sword?  The one/two hander.  Has great reach decent damage.  Slow, but it is a great find early game.  And of course you have the option of using a shield while on horse back.  I like to charge archers, dismount and cut them down.

Have plenty of good relations with many Lords.  There are some that are really tough to convert, I've been denied with 100 relations and high persuasion.  I think my right to tile was too low so farm your companions for their right to tile options.

If I am right, the lord's opinion of their monarch as to be lower than his opinion of you. Making it impossible to convert lords with 100 relations with their king.

Edit: Of course if you take enough land from a kingdom, a good number of lords will become landless and lose relations with their overlord.

True and true.  Though I should have added ( i think) that their temperament plays into the calculation somehow.  A good natured lord is harder to convert.  Also yes, styxt is correct, if you find a kingdom getting beaten up chances are their lords are becoming fief less and will be more likely to join your cause.
  10. How do you usually play PoP?

    Pacific_Salmon 说:
I usually do a mix of min-maxing and roleplaying (which I suppose goes against the spirit of both so is some kind of logically inconsistent oxymoron)

I make up my mind what kind of character I want to play with some basic guidelines/restrictions that I will adhere to.  I will try to min-max within these bounds.

Typically these decisions make my games "unique" and more difficult and more focused.

So I might play a female character with some kind of strange/random start, playing on foot only with Two-handed and throwing weapons only and will try to be-friend vanskerries and other bandits etc.

I never play horse-archer anymore as that I find makes the game way too easy.

I also try to never save-scum.  The only time I save scum is if the game glitches and I accidentally run into a unique spawn when I clearly meant to run away but my mouse click did not register etc.

I'm really digging that idea.  I've never tried befriending bandits but that would be fun.  A bandit warband.  Would be cool if there was some kind of different end game, or game mechanics to support that play through.  As far as save-scumming, I try to minimize, but there are moments when it is necessary...

I used to min max my characters with books / achievements / qualis gems etc but that was when I had lots of free time. Nowadays, I start my character with level 10 on all stats and 1 billion in the bank. This way, I can focus on the battles and building my kingdom, which is what I enjoy in this mod.

Exactly. I don't have time for the mid game grind.  On that note, I really love early game.  The struggles are so epic.  But yea now if I start a new game I give myself a stat boost, a qualis gem for companion boost and just enough cash for a business in each town.  I just don't have time.

Do you play fast-paced games or do you prefer to take your time? Do you enjoy min/maxing your character or do you prefer roleplaying? I'm just curious about the way other people play the game

I personally like to take my time, I usually create my kingdom at day 800-1000 or more and I enjoy roleplaying.

Same.  Currently training my CKHO. Greek Hoplites.  Should be great against cabalry.  I'm right at day 900.  Role-playing this game at least a little bit is a ton of fun.  Imagination adds a lot to a well made sandbox like this 1.

The main point about training and equipment time is you get something extremely powerful, totally eyecandy and explicitly as you wish in time to totally steamroll the map by the time you could have done so anyways.

That´s the whole intention behind CMKHO´s. You don´t need them to win or play the game. But by the time you´ve spent a good deal of effort you get some devastating troops.

Oldschool, really. Blame your current game developers for totally spoiling you youngsters and your gaming experiences.

That's a really obnoxious thing to say.

So last night while playing PoP, groaning out load when I ran straight into Wolfbode with 50 recruits, twisting in my chair during a pretty frantic battle.  Generally enjoying myself...
My partner says she doesn't get why someone of my age  enjoys playing this stuff so much and wonders if I'm having a second childhood

TBH I don't remember my first childhood ending.
So I am wondering at what age should you consider hanging up the mouse and doing something more mature with your free time

Video games weren't around for 80 year olds, so of course you never saw one playing them.  That will change.

Agreed.  Even though management and diplomacy weren't at the center, I had a lot of fun with the non combat aspects of the game.  Helps with immersion as well.

2018 is way too close I wouldn't get your hopes up.  The beta testing and polish for a game of this magnitude will take a year easily, longer if they want to release something well polished.

Did by any chance, someone actually got thinking, that with them mentioning starting some things from scratch maybe means they rearranged the whole singleplayer adding, aside from an overview map, a possibility of choosing a witcher style open world where you walk from village to village, town to town? Nobody guesses anything positive that can bring the devs reading your comments some great ideas. (If they didnt implement that, and this comment does just that for some dev, it will add 2 more years of development, but a great feature LOL)

Oh crap that's a really good idea.... You just blew my mind.  And your warband actually follows you around until you tell them not to
