Hi Everyone, I want to sincerely thank you for supporting this thread. I had no idea when I started this that so many people would enjoy it. Unfortunately, this will be my last art post for a while. I've done my best to keep this going but time is short for me at the moment. I am one of those fortunate people who have found themselves with more work than they can take on during this crisis. I was hired to do all the art and design for a series of subscription board games for public schools. This has been taking nearly all of my work and playtime. In addition, I am trying to prepare my own game for Kickstarter. This thread has been a lot of fun for me - a lot of laughs and inspiration and a big help for me to pass the time until bannerlord - which ironically I won't be able to play for at least a couple of months. It has been an honor and privilege to go on this journey with you. Thank you all for your kind comments. For those who have made requests, I'm sorry I couldn't get to all of them. I wish your future kingdoms prosperity. I wish your armies victory in battle. Most importantly, however, I pray you and your families will enjoy health and happiness.

I find the concept cool, and I like the way the picture is drawn, intentionally or unintentionally, it gives it a dreamlike appearance to me.
I like the idea of this being a Vlandian soldier's nightmare after hearing about the savage warriors from the north who don wolfskins and fight with large axes and brutal strength.
Speaking of wolfskins, when I first saw this my brain thought about the thuggish minor faction for Battania first so I was a bit confused why it said Sturgia before I remembered the ulfhednars.

Sorry for those who have been checking this thread and not finding anything new for the last few days - and thanks to those who have messaged me to check in. I took on a large project at work and it is keeping me very busy. I will do my best to still post a sketch of something every day - Even if it's a napkin sketch

The Arena - I've seen some small footage of the arena. I think what I'm most excited about is there being animated spectators in the arena, it makes it feel so much more immersive. Are there other arena changes to be excited about?



Sketch 16: I'm going to work on something for the release of bannerlord, I'll work on it a little bit each morning, but to stay true to the sketch a day thing I will upload masterpieces like this: With all that has happened I think we should start preparing for a loss in communications. We may need to use symbols to identify safe houses where the virus has no presence. If you can read this, you just might have what it takes to survive.

Hahahaha, I feel so bad for those who have been waiting for this game for 2, 3, 6+ years. Right on the cusp of it's release and and a pandemic breaks out, the economy tanks, people lose their jobs - So I am lowering my banner until the curse is lifted. I'll still buy it at release, but I don't know if I'll even get to play it until things settle down.

I used to do some simple sketches for my D&D adventures when I was young and this almost makes me want to buy a new iPad to draw on ! Keep 'em coming. I would love to do something really nice before release - but I still have to do my fulltime work, and I have some freelance work I have to finish so realisitcally I don't think I'll be able to. A few hours a day is all I can spare anymore, but maybe I'll do some comically lame sketches leading up to work on something a little a day.

Thanks for the recommendation, the stuff I'm posting is being done in a few hours - I don't think these quick paintings fit in there personally. Maybe if I get to spend more time on something I could post it there but I don't think I'll be able to. Unfortunately for me, I worked from home full-time before all this craziness happened, so the virus hasn't changed anything for me. If anything I've gotten busier since this all started.

The crazy thing is I started this early this morning, it only took 4 hours. I already had the super detailed Cataphract so really I was just duplicating it and reducing detail and changing little things here and there. It was a lot of fun, much more fun than painting a hundred little metal scales.

Thanks everyone for coming here to see my sketches and for the compliments and suggestions. I would love to keep doing these finished images but time is getting short for me so I've needed to come up with another option.

Haha, I actually find horses/ camels, all animals really - easier than people for me. I find animals can be abstracted a lot more and still resemble them. whereas even a slight error on a person's face or figure can really stand out.

I'm the artist/ designer/ copy writer for a small company in utah. It's a great job but we don't have anything really high profile out. Recently we did a card game: sparkstorytelling.com And we're doing another card game that will be out soon. I've done some freelance for small game developers, but I mean small, so small I don't even know what games they went on to make with the concept art I did. I suppose I have aspirations to work at a games studio, but I don't want to live in a big city so that really limits my options. But Utah is growing fast so who knows where I'll be in a few years. Thanks for your interest. I'm glad people are enjoying these. I've got some work to catch up on so it might be loose sketches for a couple days before I get back to the character concepts.
