  1. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    I think the answer is actually nestled somewhere in the past 29 pages already, but Splintert's is the general gist of it. Logging in/registering is nothing to do with advertising. Pretty sure it's actually in our terms and conditions that we won't do it, so if we did...feel free to send me over a court summons.

    You don't need a separate site and forum login. Your forum login is your site login. Your site login is your forum login. They're one and the same..

    If you're having problems with logging in, let me know. The sites do require cookies enabled to work.

    Sorry if I haven't replied to your messages or emails; it's this time of the year when I go to Greece and pretend to be a local, sleeping most of the day and coming out at night for drinks :smile: back next week.
  4. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Hi monnikje,

    Can you link me the files please? We're just in the process of transitioning over to the new code base (M&BNexus was moved over a couple of days ago) and we'll be rolling out a new upload/download system very soon. The new upload limit will be 5GB. It's possible we'll need a week to get this sorted. Sorry :sad:
  5. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Soooooo it says "You have not entered a description for your file", sooooooo...have you entered a description for your file (both small and large description)? The error is pretty self-explanatory! :wink:

    There's no limit on the number of files you can upload. Some authors on the other sites have hundreds.
  6. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Can't upload a new file.  I hit an error on:
    mountandblade.nexusmods.com/members/do_newfile.php

    ...and was never prompted to upload a file.  Much confusion

    What error do you get?

    You first enter your file details, and then upload your file(s), image(s), readme, mirrors etc. on separate pages.
  7. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Registration to download is there to protect the sites/my wallet. We're already pushing close to 2Gbit/second on the network at the moment, and opening up the downloads to unregistered users also opens it up to all sorts of other issues, primarily leechers and bandwidth whoring bots.
  8. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    In the page footer, Mount&Blade is missing from the Nexus Network list/links.

    I'd forgotten they're linked there too. Lots of sites missing from that list. I'll get on it.

    How would we be able to 'claim' certain uploads that are ours? Or is this feature not implanted yet?

    You can claim any files you uploaded to the Repository, on the Nexus, by logging in to your user panel on the Repository and following the links on that page. It's very simple; just a click of a button.
  9. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    With the Nexus' ability to have multiple file downloads under a single listing (while each download file required a unique listing on the Repository), is there any possibility to "merge" two listings that were present from the Repository? I don't see that feature currently...not sure if it would be simple or possible to do, but it would be quite useful to incorporate the file/download counts from separate source file downloads or multi-part downloads into the main download heading.

    It would be quite a complex functionality so I'm not planning on coding it. However, if people get in contact with me and send me all the links to their split files on the Repository and the corresponding single file entry on the Nexus I shall update their stats accordingly. I've already done this for TLD.

    On the note of stats, I've now ported over all the ratings from the Repository to the Nexus so no ratings have been lost. It makes the top lists a bit more pertinent now.

    Any other issues?

    I'm looking at the hot files and in the preview in the little window it seems to cut off alot of the picture, so  you cant really tell what it is.

    It's kind of a known issue with the hot files script. It runs once a day, at midnight, and it selects the most prominent image with a resolution higher than 1200x800 and creates a clipping of said image for the hot file image. It's kind of known on the Nexus sites by now that it clips from the top-left, so people pick primary images that have the bulk of the content towards the top-left of their images.

    It's something I could never code better myself, but I've stuck it on the to-do list for my programmers.
  10. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    I noticed that Janus; very snazzy!
  11. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Ok, very quick fix and it should now be working (though some files magically seem to have more total downloads than views!). I have not updated the Unique DLs stat as it resets back to 1 at the first download, so it'll be pointless.

    Thanks.
  12. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Riiiiiight, I've found the issue and I'll see if I can get this sorted tonight. Else it might have to wait a few days.

    It's been a long day so I'm still not quite sure what you're trying to tell me. Can you provide some links with examples as to what you're trying to say please?

    He's saying that on the Repository, total downloads were a count of the downloads of all the versions of a single project. For example, we have a project has released 3 versions, 1 original and 2 updates. The total dowload count would then be the sum of the dowloads of each of these files. Or, mathematically.

    FileDownloads
    Original File500
    Update 1300
    Update 2800
    Total1600

    Nexus, on the other hand, counts its total downloads as the downloads of the most recent main file--in our example, Update 2. So all in all, the total downloads listed on the Repository would be 1600, while the total downloads listed on the Nexus is 800.

    Ok, Nexus counts ALL the downloads of ALL the files (deleted or otherwise) uploaded for a single file entry.

    So if you have a file entry named "Test Mod". You upload version 1, it receives 1000 downloads. You delete version 1 and upload version 2. It receives 1000 downloads. You delete version 2 and upload version 3. It receives 1000 downloads. The total download count for that entry is 3000 downloads, and the Nexus will show that.

    Is the issue that you uploaded new file entries for each new version of your mod (so you'd have 3 files in the category view, for example, for one single mod) and that the Repository counted all those downloads, while the Nexus counts downloads only for a single entry?

    I had no idea about "projects", and I see nothing in the database that suggests you can link multiple files together to form projects. I'm still not sure I'm understanding it, because from my reckoning, the Nexus counts downloads in exactly the same way the Repository does.
  14. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Ok, then the wrong value has been used for the total downloads when copying from the mbrepository, then; all my files show only the mbrepository count for the current file version as the nexus total downloads... from what you say about "leaving the latest version up" the old site would be different, replacing old versions by uploading a new file for the same repository id (keeping the same download link and all other information).

    It's been a long day so I'm still not quite sure what you're trying to tell me. Can you provide some links with examples as to what you're trying to say please?

    Any support for spoiler/code tags? Quotes don't seem right for me.

    I might be able to get this in some time soon. Can you tell me what it's generally used for (is it actually for posting spoilers, or is it used for something else)?

    Did some googling and it seems that tables and nested lists aren't supported either.

    Tables aren't supported. Nested lists tend to get a bit screwy so it's normally best to avoid them. The nested lists has been a long term bug so you've reminded me to let my programmers take a look at it. It's something I could never wrap my head around because I'm dumb! :smile:

    Also, the main page (http://www.nexusmods.com/) gives the same stats for M&B as Dragon Age. Might want to fix that.

    Woops, done, though the Authors stat is wrong. I'll look at that at some point.
  15. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    I'm really excited.  By the way, don't forget to link Mount&Blade Nexus to the "Nexus Network".

    Aaaah yes, I knew I'd forgotten something. I'll get on that.
  16. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Transfer complete, site up, new file uploads enabled, site announced across all the Nexus sites.

    I'll start working in some of my spare time to try and get files in to specific categories and proper tags. Please note that YOU can tag any file, and a file requires 3 people to agree with it for a tag to be confirmed. Tagging is going to become (even more) important soon, as we'll be adding in features that will allow you to block any content that uses specific tags. So if you don't like modern M&B mods, you can prevent your search results or category browsing ever giving you any mods with the modern tag attached to them.

    Feel free to continue to use this thread to post bug reports or feature requests.
  17. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    I dislike themes with a dark background: when I registered for the forums there was a list at the bottom of each page where the theme could be changed to a light version, but I can't find any such option in the "mount&blade nexus" part of the site - the edit site preferences page only has a choice of "default skin" or "no skin", changing which doesn't seem to make any difference.

    There is no way to change the site skin. The skin options in the preferences area turn on or off the background image. It's a bandwidth or really old computer saving measure.

    The mbrepository also showed total downloads of all versions of the file as well as the count for the current version, but the nexus site only shows the current version count - I would like that feature, if it is feasible to implement.

    I'm not quite sure what you're alluding to, but the "Total downloads" counter counts all the downloads that have ever happened for that file. So if you've uploaded 5 versions of your file, each receiving 1,000 downloads, then you'll have 5,000 total downloads, even if you delete the four previous versions and only leave the latest version up.

    The transfer has finished. The only thing left to do is wake up, shower, eat breakfast, open up the new file uploads and announce the new site on all the other Nexus sites :smile:
  18. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Are the links live now, i.e., can I redirect downloads there yet?

    The links are all live, but the file servers aren't fully synced yet, so some files cannot be downloaded yet. The main file server has transferred about 70GB from 98GB worth of data, so not long now at all. The other file servers lag behind a little (they're chained), so they're around the 60GB range.

    Basically any files from A-S should work now. T-Z are still syncing.
  19. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    Got the following error when uploading images:

    Warning: imagejpeg() [function.imagejpeg]: Unable to open '/home/mount/public_html/downloads/images/medium/2835-5-1330548085.jpg' for writing: No such file or directory in /home/mount/public_html/members/do_addimages.php on line 120

    Thanks, should be fixed now.

    Tested the transfer; everything works, except I got some sort of error about using underscores when I went to alter the information pages?

    You might find we have slightly stricter naming conventions on file names, so try to just stick to letters, numbers and dashes!

    I posted this earlier, but just in any general case, Warband is better off getting "top billing." The engines are the same, so most large modding will be done for Warband instead of WFaS due to being both around longer and more associated with TW. Likewise, the player-base for Warband is a bit bigger as well.

    I think the order is actually set by the order in which I created them, and not by any ordering of my choosing. I'll look in to it.
  20. Transfer: M&B Repository -> M&B Nexus

    I believe the default is actually to show top files from all categories. You can then choose to drill-down in to specific categories if you so wish.
