Yep, I'd say in terms of actual applicable performance, many pcs outstripped PS3, before it even launched. Now days, you get a mid level, high end leaning pc, it most likely beats the PS3, in real world application, even if it cant boast abazzillion giglyflops of pluck, on paper anyway.
My GFX card, has skipped quite a few generations (radeon 9600), my cpu, even more. So all in all, its newest component is 3 years old possibly more, it runs source games at highest settings at a modest, very playable framerates. So with nicely refined software like source, the lifetime of a PC is much longer than many would have you believe.
Hey Arch, when, if ever, will you 'upgrade' to Vista? Everyone, at some distant point will.
Some say if you're getting a new system in say 5-6 months, Vista won't necessarily cripple it, your thoughts?
