Woah, in the US stuff like that is a lot cheaper. I could get the same one on newegg.com for $100.

Normally what costs you $1 costs us a £1 same goes for the rest of europe and euros, competitive markets my ass.

Two years later, Mount and Blade is still brilliant.

Indeed it has evolved to a great game, actually it was the last game I paid for and that was years ago... remember giving 0. 6XX a try and thinking yeah right like I will ever play this junk (be honest 0.6xx was lacking much).

Guess i was wrong... wasnt long until i played it again and bought it.

    Most Tempting Targets

Once i have basic gear and an average army i dont care about enemy type or numbers ( unless extremelly high) its all about the rank and numbers of prisioners the enemy party has... all about prisioners.

If its a small party you can up your numbers, if facing big powerful parties you can compensate losses with the prisioners.

    Same goes with sieges.

No vote from me... but if i had to pick one i would say sea raiders are very useful for gear early on.

    Mouse lag

Considering it is you Zaro I will give you the benefit of the doubt and avoid the straight forward bull****. You did try your mouse in another pc didnt you ?

So you said one of the case fans stopped working? fans dont go bust often, was it connected to the mobo?

Try to connect it directly from the supply ( if it has the connectors)  try it in another mobo connector or use another working fan in the same mobo connector. Basically make sure it's the fan that is dead and the connector is fine.

Both case fans and USB normally receive power from the mobo (same 5V for some fans) if you had mobo problems it could explain the usb disconnections the busted fan and the system crashes. Check if your Vcore and other voltages are acceptable.
    Whats your mobo?

    Yet another piracy/DRM debate!

    Archonsod 说:
Problem with games is that the licence fees are paid on a per-sale basis. Console games are more expensive because the console manufacturer is taking a slice of the selling price on top of the retailer. Plus the cost of creating a game has steadily increased rather than decreased; ten years ago you would only have three or four guys working on the actual graphical assets, today you have three or four hundred.

That’s true at the moment the only big downside of developing games for consoles is the royalty to be paid and the possible dependence towards the console manufacturer.
On the other hand the change on the costs and sheer size of game development is only due to the massive growth and maturity of the gaming market and is more than accounted for the same reasons.

    Elenmmare 说:
    1. I understand what you mean - you can't lower your prices to the point where you're not making a profit, but competitive markets exist quite obviously in the gaming industry - that's why you see such amazing deals at Steam. For Xbox games, well, not so much, because its a monopoly held by Microsoft, forming sort of an soft balancing platform.

    2. Blatant agreements tend to be stopped, especially in such a small industry. You're picking at straws it seems, but my point is that its worth it to provide lower affordable prices. Its where I would buy my games  from, and most other gamers.
1 Well steam is hardly an example of the conventional gaming market, distribution wise and its overall market presence is completely different.

2 I understand what you mean, it is for most cases positive to offer cheaper prices but not always necessary for a company. If you and other gamers are presented with similar prices you will base your decision on other aspects and that's what is currently happening in the industry.

I so hate the fact that a totally unbiased discussion on piracy is impossible in this forum, given one cannot admit having commited piracy (that would make arguments about the reasons why people pirate). And I do really believe the piracy discussion is rather a feast for thought.

Or a nice open jar of honey   every time piracy is the topic 2 or 3 heads roll. I am just waiting for the first

    ............................... .................................. .......................

    Back on topic:

Personally I have no problems with DRM if i dont like one particularly i give the game the fingers. What is important is that all sort of software non critical to the game operation must be clearly identified before buy (box, specifications) and during installation (again CLEARLY).

Currently your pound is more important than your ballot if you are not bothered enough to see who you voting for you deserve to be screwed.

You're telling me that games are not a competitive market?

Price wise no... Otherwise games wouldnt all have similar release prices would they? Even games with comparably low development costs are sold for the same values.

Again differentiation through marketing not price.

    No **** sherlock.
Then how do you expect to have a "standard price"?

You think the price competitors are selling their product for doesnt come in play when deciding the sale value of your own product? Obviously it does and it is easy to create a trend in prices.  Besides when did illegality prevent companies to do something?

And who wants to sell it for 25 when the nearby store is selling it for 50 and the standard selling price for the product is 50?

    Yet another piracy/DRM debate!

People keep trying to morally justify piracy, well don’t there is no moral justification for piracy.

Companies are in there for the money, games are poorly made, and prices are too high…  Games are not a must have product, if you don’t like it don’t use it period.

Piracy exists because it provides a product for a considerably lower cost. That’s a comprehensible enough reason to do it; there is no need to attach the bull**** rhetoric behind it.

    …………………..

Just one point to add to the article.

Economies of scale is an wonderful concept, indeed it decreases the manufacturing costs per unit of a product but its joke to say the cost decrease will be passed to the selling price.

If I operate in an industry where most companies practice similar prices why would I sell mine cheaper? If Consoles sales outmatch PC sales 4 or 5 to 1 why are prices higher? Why have they not decreased as sales increased?

Economies of scale only reflect to the customer in aggressive markets with no predetermined sale prices. These are rare and the gaming industry is not one of them.

how do i get my own castle?

    Vongola12th 说:
    Quick question,

is there a point to actually getting your own castle other than weekly money and a place to garrison your troops?

Defending it  always fun to kill 500 enemies during a siege defence.

Cities are better since they generate more money but in both cases garrisoned troops cost you considerably less. Only take a castle if it is of strategic value otherwise aim at cities.

My questions (Shall be updated as I have more)

    3. Every time that happened to me there was some guy inside a wall in a tree or even outside the map, press backspace the red dots on the map are the enemies check if there is anyone left.

If you find that happening often you can enable cheats and use the ctrl + shift + F4 to kill the remaining enemies.

    5. You can avoid stores by editing one the chests you have access to and add the new item.

    6. Yes pretty much random, Kings often generate more cash so renown might play a part but its random for the most part.

Employee dies on Black Friday to Shopper rush

I ... I .... I actually feel sorry for those employees and the guy who died. I can't belive I am stuck sharing a continent universe with people this patchetic.

Move to England. Our idea of early-morning shopping is to form an orderly queue and wait for the doors to be opened. Not to rip the frigging doors off their hinges and then proceed to trample people like the Peterloo Massacre.

Totally agree, in a country of sensible people such as this one that sort of behaviour is reserved for Friday nights out.

Mind you it never reaches those levels, unless of course, some random sports team happens to lose a match.
