  1. [TUTORIAL] How to stop being a jerk

And I endorse the op in all seriousness.
This "give us release-date" thing has turned into an obsession and is annoying. I have given up reading forum threads related to new blogs because of it. I don't even understand why people are so focused on that. There are plenty of other games around.
  2. The problem with big battles

I think too that bigger battles will not make the game better.

The bigger the army, the more tactical management it requires.
So instead of leading from the saddle, the player will be forced to find a safe space so he can fiddle around on a minmap.
And then come the guys who want the game to be paused while they are giving their orders, and why can't we have a top-down view of the whole battlefield like TW, if you don't like it don't use it blablabla. Ugh, I hate it already.

 Who says any of that will happen? You will still lead form the saddle, but don't expect to carry your side like some sort of Hercules. Even then, bigger battles than Warband will only occur in Bannerlord where multiple lords meet. We've seen from the pc weekender gameplay that a lord has around 120 troops, which is pretty similar to warband.
Even then, I've played mods like ACOK where battles can easily reach 800 vs 800 and I've always had to use tactics to win the day. In that scenario you can't be a one-man-army.

My fear is not that I'm not able to be a Hercules – in fact I'm the most Non-Hercules player ever. A godlike player character makes me cringe.

My fear is that with bigger battles all these tools to handle big battles from Total War get dragged into Bannerlord.
I like that Warband battles are raw and in real time. You get thrown into the battle, now manage, based on what you can see, while things are already happening. I would hate to see that go.

  4. Any information on flag creator?

In mp we are going to see endless variations of dicks in hideous colors.
  5. Will there be Political Map, Statistical Tables, Diplomatic Map?

But I fear that it changes the character of the game too much.
Of course ruling is more efficient when you have a central administration presenting you all important data, compared to when all you have are your vassals gathered around the fireplace.
I noticed that when I installed the Diplomacy mod to Warband. It added a lot of useful tools to run the kingdom. But it also had the effect that my character became more powerful and didn't have to rely on lords anymore. The historical setting changed from the dark ages to early renaissance.
Kingdom management is not what I'm looking for when playing Warband. There are other games for that.

I hope Talewords has a clear idea of what kind of game they want.
  6. Will there be Political Map, Statistical Tables, Diplomatic Map?

The game is set in a world similar to early medieval age.
Your character should have what a leader would have had in these times. Kings didn't have a central administration, therefore had to rely on personal relations with their lords. That's why feudalism came to be.

Extensive maps, ledgers, statistics and other RTS stuff undermine the whole concept, don't fit and I don't want them.

I was never able to refuse to part with my fiefs. I know other people have talked about that but I always lose my fiefs.

Anyone know what the deal is there?

The only way to leave with your fiefs in Native is when you conquer a place, ask for it and then the king refuses to give it to you. You then get the "I have been wronged"-option, which allows you to form your own kingdom with all your fiefs.
  8. Wages and Enterprises are not enough to support my army financially.

Cost-optimize your army. You don't need top-level troops everywhere. And get rid of all mercenaries asap.

Balancing economic and military growth is part of the game.
  9. As a Lord, How do you raise your vassels standing without giving property away?

you only get the +1 when you speak to them after 24 have passed and not before. You also get anonther +2 when you close the feast to everyone who is present (be marshal and order them to be there).

An often overlooked way is sending presents through married ladies who you have a positive relation with. It only works to lords you have negative relations, and it costs 1000 per point. You can chose between +1, +2 and +3. It is advisable to bring relations with the lord up to -1, and then send the +3 present.

  10. tax inefficiency

Think in a medieval way it will be absolutely normal that you, as a lord , hang some peasants or townfolks to force them to pay!

I think in a medieval way it is also absolutely normal that some peasants or townfolks hang a taxcollector and burn town a castle it the lord becomes too demanding.

Apart from balancing the game, I think that Warband tries to create an early medieval time when even the concept of a state didn't exist and the influence of a lord didn't go beyond where he is at the moment. An absent lord was an inexistent lord. Seen from this angle, the tax inefficiency penalty is even to light.
  11. Is My Current Playthrough a Lost Cause?

give up your support for the claimant (is this even possible?), become a lowly vassal again of some other king, and this time prepare properly for the next attempt.

The key to success is not having a strong army, but having the ability to recruit and train a strong army quickly and to pay for it.
  12. 2 questions about lords

    SAUS 说:
    1. Lords have personalities. I don't know for sure, but I think it will also decide if they recruit prisoners (mostly I think they might refuse to hire troops that aren't from their original faction). This is likely why it seems random - it depends on the lord (I think).

That's a possibility. The lord in question was Rochabarth, who is originally swadian, and who had an all swadian army, even though he is with the vaegirs now. We freed about 15 high level vaegir troops, and I let him have them, because he was low on manpower. But they didn't show up in his army. It's strange design decision though to make a lord refuse reinforcements.

  13. 2 questions about lords

    1. Does anyone know when freed prisoners after a battle go to your fellow lords and when not? I mean the freed prisoners after a battle, when you can chose to add them to your own warband. Usually non-selected troops go to a fellow lord who fought with you in the battle. Now I'm playing with the...

Then why mention it in the first place? The OP seemed pretty aimless in my opinion.

Stop trolling.  First I get 5 troll posts mocking my conclusion.  Now I get one attacking me on the grounds that my conclusion was too obviously correct.

your first post was pure trolling.

Apodictic statements without arguments deserve the same type of answer.

  16. improving village relation

    jacobhinds 说:
Even worse than that is lords going on campaign to raid a single vilage. 2,000+ men being levied from the entire kingdom just so they can sit near a tiny hamlet of five houses and steal some cabbage, before they travel all the way home and feast on the same cabbage. Pathetic.

Only specific types of character do this when marshal (f. ex. Haringoth). I see it more as the marshal abusing his power by ordering the whole kingdom army to cover him while he loots a village for personal enrichment.
  17. Time at the Beginning of a Battle (and other questions)

there is an active subforum for Prophesy of Pendor, go there.

about question 3: I think it unlocks new building options, and he is able to solve problems on his own. However I would not recommend spending money for buildings in villages, because they get destroyed over time. It's a huge money sink, and then you lose the village. Do it in castles and cities though.
  18. My big mistake with Dhirim

I have no idea how to defend Dhirim against 1200 angry nords.
Once the siege tower is in place, it's over, unless I have a garrison of comparable strength (which I have not when I have just founded my kingdom). The waiting period while they are building it makes no difference.
My iron rule: Never start a kingdom in Dhirim.

My prefered town is Halmar. Easy to defend, and you can  dominate the Sarranids and the Khergits from there.
  19. Lord Recruitment and Marriage

Make the father marshal. That should enable him to organize a feast.
  20. how to stop the dshar?

battles against the D'Shar feel like rolling around in a container full of broken glass.
I have a particular hate against these horsemen with the long curved sword which are constantly attacking my archery line.
