  1. Army Building/Strategy

Before replying in a full wall of text I mean to ask something: what towns do you raid? Always the same towns or all towns that are available? I usually play a honorable swadian lord who doesn't hurt a fly that is not actively trying to skin him alive, meaning I've still to raid and loot even only one caravan or town... so I don't really know what happens when you do.
  2. I never get fiefs assigned

Easier said than done. None of the Noyans give me quests anymore.

OK, I managed to get my relation with Sanjar Khan above 0.

I joined the Marshal's group and he's approaching Bariyye, last town in Sarranid hands. If I besiege it before any other Noyan, will others join me? I have 87 troops, Bariyye is guarded by 400+. I doubt I can take it by myself but if others join me, I will be credited for taking it, correct? Perhaps I will get it afterwards.

If all towns of Sarranids are conquered, is it still possible for me to join the claimant and restore the faction?

I think you have to ask them to follow you or suggest they go to castle/town, otherwise you will be alone.

I tried it once. The ego of the lords really bugs me: renown is a *****.
    >_<
Now I'm getting more and more friendly with Klargus, which seems to be a very good idea, since he can have a very, very large army  And I can't make Harlaus move his fat ass out of Praven, that good-for-nothing king
  3. What are the best units in game?

Swadian Knights for ever. When I show up with them every army with troops that are not at least with 20 top tier units I will most probably mess up even if they are double the size of mine with only a few losses. (Even though I have like 15 nord infantry that I can rely on and 30 brodoks sharpshooters. Those mofos hurt like hell  )
  4. Harlus the Fat

I have the same problem: around 530 renown, still only have one fief, which would be a village and no more. Stupid king Harlaus decided that castles and towns should belong only to a few trusty vassals. Nords are almost wiped off the map: they have only 3 castles left. And Brhodoks lost Veluca to us. In all comparison the top 3 forces would be: 1- Swadians (FTW) 2-Vaegir right behind us 3-Sarranids, which I still won't believe: they are really unsettling the poor(?) khergits... those norses will prolly be the next faction going extinct, if not the brhodoks...
  5. I never get fiefs assigned

I always have good relationship with all the lords of my faction, which would be Swadia, and I encounter the same problem. But yours is probably the loss of the support of Sanjar Khan. u_u"
  6. Somebody out to get me?

    Dangit, several hours to late!

Anyway: the bandits want your money, so they attack you. Easy.
  7. Being a merchant problem, help?

    BHunterSEAL 说:
There's a lot more that goes into map speed. Namely party size, morale, inventory weight/number of pack animals, and the terrain/time-of-day. Base speed is calculated as the average of (overall average unit speed) and (speed of slowest unit). Individual unit speeds are determined by Riding skill (mounted) or Athletics skill (dismounted).

So, it stands to reason that a smaller force of higher-level units (with more points in those stats) is the best escort for a merchant player. I usually start my games by killing bandits and such with peasant armies to raise a decent amount of capital, then firing everyone, hiring a small force of mounted mercenaries, and trading around the map until I've amassed a fortune.

I recommend a small team of Mercenary Cavalry or Caravan Guards, a few cheap pack horses (shop around as you travel and buy the least-expensive ones) and a few mounted hero companions. This will give you enough speed to trade unmolested and enough fight to take on bandits occasionally to bolster morale or train up companions/make CGs into MC.

Do you have a trade route? May I know of it? How much money do you deem a fortune?

Sry for all the questions, but I'm really curios how u manage to do this with the nerf they put on trading...
  8. AAR: Roran Hawkins: The story of a fallen nation

Is Roran of the red or of the white Rose?

    Just joking

PS: Elerdah is my fief  in my game, at least
  9. Richest in Calradia?

Mi liege Harlaus would be the richest. With Praven, Suno, Uhxkal(?), Dirhim, Tihr and Veluca as the towns of the Swadian kingdom it's no wonder. Yes, we are doing very well indeed
Sargoth is next on our list, leaving the nords with just 1 city: Wercheg. I'm gonna roflstomp a Jarl right away.

PS: Nords, don't hate me: I do have nord infantry, cuz they're the best there is! ^^
Nord infantry, swad cav and brhodok sharpshooters FTW!

    Thank you ^^

I was worried that would cause some disaster, that's why I asked

    Thank you very much

To my knowledge, it does absolutely nothing.
It'll be back to normal when you open it up again. It's only for seeing the equipment of a troop.

I see. And if I take out their armor/weapons and use it as my own items, what happens?
  12. -- Official Unofficial 'Ask Questions About Warband Singleplayer Here' Thread --

I have a question: what happens if I take an item out of the equipment of my units? (I have the diplomacy mod and somehow I can access the equipment of my units)

What I want to know: does it screw up the game, if I mess around with my unit's armor and weaponry?

As a matter of fact, I did

I wanted to get as many enterprises I could, so that the wages wouldn't kill my income right away
  14. speed vs. durability

That fatty Harlaus better give me a lot of meat. I'm starving!!

*charges to praven with an army of cavalry only*
  15. speed vs. durability

GIMME A CHARGER! I NEED TO GO TO DA FEAST NAO!

*cough* I like my horses with a lot of armor, as I turn khergits into big, roasty skewers.
  16. I need some help from Swadian pros!

I am not a pro, but the Brodoks are the ones I'd rather face instead of Khergist. Stupid Horses. *prepares light lance for shish-kebab*

Anyway: as the B/Pros said earlier, just lure them out on the open field. They won't stand a chance on flat land. Have fun smashing their heads in
  17. Favorite Weapon Type. (Cast your vote here!)

    harlaus.jpg
    ^ this

But seriously: I usually go with a one-hand sword/weapon and a shield. Makes me feel safe. As I ride along, cutting heads off, impaling them on my light lance that I keep on my horse for all cases. Khergits make good kebab.

    Man I'm getting hungry...

EDIT: Throwing is getting kinda lonely... XD
  18. I am a vessel in Swadia, Should i try to help Lady Isolla of Sono?

I became a Swadian merc when they were at war with the Nords (they already lost Rivacheg and Wercheg to the Vaegir anyways), we beat them up really fast, taking one of their castles while they weren't looking (though I managed to beat one of their jarls real quick) and then made peace. The next few peaceful days I stroll around, killing stuff and earning money with a little bit of profitable trading + earnings of enterprises, when we declare war on the Khergits, which after a few days, terrified of our fatness(?) make a defensive treaty with the Brhodoks. I hate when they do that, because then they also have infantry on their side, but whatever. I'm gonna eat some khergit horses, now. I've become a Swadian lord and have a cooperative relationship with the king and a few lords.

Does this mean I am screwed, if I keep going around with fatty Harlaus? (He doesn't seem to feast as much in my game, tough. Is it because of the diplomacy mod?)

PS: No, I don't eat khergits: I managed to beat one of their noyan, but I let him run cuz hey: I like honor.

Good deal are also salty fish in Werheg and Tihr, to sell somewehere in south ( Uxhal, Khergit lands), Flax and Linen in Sargoth, to sell in Tihr, iron form Curaw to Rivacheg and Tihr, Velvet from Jelkala to anywhere over 930 per piece, spices in Tulga and Ihamur.

I used to  make trade route: Curaw - buy iron, Rivacheg, buy raw silk and furs, sell some iron, Wercheg buy salt and fish, sell furs and iron, Sargoth sell salt and some fish, buy flax bundle and linen, Tihr buy salt and fish, sell flax and linen, Praven sell some salt buy beer, Uxhall, sell beer and salt if remain, Veluca sell some raw silk, Jelkala buy velvet and dyes, sell raw silk, Sarranid desert (Durquba and Amellard) - sometimes cheap dyes and salt to buy, may sell velvet (but better to carry it to Vaegir lands), Tulga and Ihamur - buy spices and salt(sometimes), Reyvadin - sell some salt and spieces if over 820, Curaw buy Iron and sell spieces and salt.

It may be some mistakes above, I didn't trade for long time, but it should be more or less correct,

best prices for fishes are on the south, far from sea - Uxhall, Veluca, Halmar etc, Sarranid desert

    Thank you very much
I have to try that, my army is costing every day more
  20. [Question]Trade

    Fillmore 说:
Trade has changed since the old guides, but the good news is the new trade is even more profitable, and there are more things that can be profitably traded.

Some of the new ones worth trading:

Raw Silk - Buy in Rivacheg and nearby villages; also buy in villages near Jelkala. Sell in Jelkala and Suno for max profit, but this is one you can sell pretty much anywhere except where you buy it. This now beats Spice as the most profitable per unit item to trade. You can get it for less than 100 and sell for over 700, but a 300-500 spread is more common.

Dyes - Buy in Jelkala and nearby villages; there are some places in Serranid lands that sell it cheap too, but I don't go there much. Buy at below 150 and sell for 190+

Flax - Buy in Praven and some other places, main thing is to sell only in Tihr and Durquba. Buy at 100 or so and sell at 200

Ale - Buy in Praven, sell any number of places. Buy up to 50 and sell down to 100

Grapes - Buy around Tihr, especially the villages. Buy below 40 and sell for 80 or so.

Fur - Buy around Rivacheg, Reyvadin and Khudan and the villages around that area, many places to sell. Buy below 300 and sell for 400 (I go down to 350 if it starts to pile up).

Also a great way to build up quick cash from a small start is the Villages around Dhirim - buy grain cheap and sell at Uxkhal, buy below 10 and sell over 30 - the per unit profit isn't huge but you can make quick money with a very small starting bankroll.

From Tihr you can buy Salt and go the long way to Praven picking up Grapes in the villages and sell in Praven and buy Flax and Ale and then loop back through Suno and Uxkhal through Sargoth and back to Tihr.

Once you have a bankroll you can do the loop Wercheg - Rivacheg - Khudan - Curaw - Reyvadin - Sargoth - Wercheg; if you end up with some extra furs you can find somewhere to sell it not too far.

The main thing is to keep in mind the buy/sell numbers and hit up villages because you can find Furs, Raw Silk, Salt, Iron, Dyes, Grapes, Flax etc in villages at really good prices sometimes. There are really a lot of things that can be traded now - even pottery can make money (buy below 50 and sell for a round 100) but I think you need some trade skill to work that one well.

    Thank you very much :O
I'll need to check those villages and towns, to see if I can find any goodies that come cheap
