I personally haven't seen this question before. Unfortunately, that means I'm unable to help. But, I don't think you'll be flamed for this one at least.  You type intelligently and actually used the search button, as well as trying to figure it out yourself before resorting to a new thread. Someone with more experience than I do will help you out soon enough, I figure.

Another thread that would be unnecessary if people would search and use common sense.  Yes, you need the most recent one. I'm rarely mean to people but that one really is "duh." Always check the section specific to the mod you have questions about as well.  The mod creator may have not finished with name changes yet...see if it is in the "Soon to come" section if he or she has one.

Oh, I think it know this one now thanks to the last guy! Check version!

The forum regulars are getting pretty tired of people like you opening a new thread on this same topic without searching.  Here, look at this most recent thread, since you are too lazy to read the rules or maybe attempt to find people with the same problem before creating more clutter.

If you have installed it correctly, then go to the board for the mod you are using and look there to see if its a common problem. Odds are, asking here won't get you much because we aren't all experts on every mod's files and problems that may occur.

Seeing as how a few more threads like this popped up this morning, maybe we should at least give the sticky thing a try. Maybe it'll deter a few people at least, and the rest can be...talked to.

Don't we have a sticky telling them to search first, THEN post a thread? They ignore that...probably going to ignore any sticky we put up.

What's sad is Mount & Blade seems to me to be one of the easiest games to install mods for. Drop mod into folder. Done. Don't have to run any installs or replace files or any of that. Drag and drop. Don't see why these people have such a problem and have to constantly create the same thread over and over and over and over.

It is freaking boring waiting on the siege tower to crawl to the wall. I prefer the ladder(s) just because I can get right to it.

Place the mod in the modules folder. Do not place within a folder already within the modules folder.

Your modules folder should be here...

E:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules

And have a folder already within called Native.


Say you have a mod called Test. What you may have done is put it in the native folder already there, resulting in...

E:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules\Native\Test


So the game doesn't recognize what you added.

Place the folder containing the mod within the modules folder, resulting in a path location like this...

E:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules\Test


It should work then.  And of course, your drive may be C: or D: or whatever you installed it to. And, if you did all this correctly, when you bring up the M&B menu, make sure you choose the mod you installed from the drop down menu there, and don't leave it on Native. Also, not every mod will have a drastically different main screen than native, or a different map or anything that you'll immediately notice.

Most recent version, not a bug but please, please, please fix the spelling and grammar errors. I can do that if you have nobody willing. Nothing bugs me more than simple errors like missing letters, misspelling, sentence fragments, and the like.

Other than that, I'm enjoying it.

Yeah, but more muscle power always improves everything you do physically. You ain't gotta be a beast, but it helps to be able to throw some force in there when you snap kick some dude's face off, you know? 

Ah, leave the poor boy alone. I used to type in internetzspeak as well, until I realized how ignorant it makes me look. But yes, you do need to hit the weights. Then again, you look about 10 or so...you could probably wait a few more years.  Shoot, I didn't start working out until I was 14, and within a couple years I was benching 300, from a start of 100, so...you don't gotta worry bout bulking up quite yet.  Unless I'm wrong about your age.

Hopefully me mentioning that won't get all the e-thugs out to show off their e-peens because they bench more or did it faster...but this is a forum.

Honestly, this thread could probably be locked and thrown in a dungeon somewhere...its kind of over with now, if Prince is still gonna do anything with it, he'll probably make a new thread.

That's the one I personally follow, but I know a lot of people get real pissy about it.

Well, that's how you run it after its in the correct place...

I think he wants to know how to actually get it there. Now, I'm not sure about this the steam way, but for myself, I go to E:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules (yours may be a different drive or whatever, but the rest should be the same, unless you changed it). This is the modules folder. Drop the folder containing the mod here. Then follow the directions from the guy above me.

Edit- Of course, your directory will be different since it is steam...just find the folder containing all of M&B's files, and go into the Modules folder. Then follow my, and then his, instructions.

Used to like those guys. Past few years, just seem too angsty for me.

Why can't you do it? From what I understand, changing troops is pretty easy.

Plain old native does it too, although it isn't as detailed or intuitive (or easy) as in various mods. Take a castle from a faction, you just made your own faction. No need for a mod.
