    They probably would. At some point I'd like to do something like that, maybe add more landmass and an entire Japan/China themed faction, if thats possible. Map editing isn't something I've done a lot of.

    Few things: 1) any admin can check the IPs on my account and any others.

    2) I honestly don't think that my part on the mod is as major as Pratz makes it out to be. The resources are all open source, and none of them were created for my mod. All I've done is assign values and code - I'm always remarkably impressed by the people that put the actual textures and models together, as thats something I've just never been able to do and have it look good.

    He had to convince me to even put it up here (I've been tweaking and changing it for about a year now and distributing it privately)

    That said, I'm open to questions, comments, concerns.

    For the artifacts, unfortunately I just had to have them come up occasionally in merchant inventories.  You'll generally see them labelled as "Caldaric" whatever, and they tend to have good modifiers, so they're something you'll generally be packing late-game. Sometimes nobles can spawn with them, I -think-? (honestly cant remember if I set that up) At some point I'd like to have a questline of sorts tied to that, though.

    The Far Eastern Swordsmen are brought up through the Khergit foot line, iow foot archers. There's a HTML troop tree included in the 7zip for the mod that should help with things like this.

    Maybe that's the issue that is causing so many Warband players to feel a bit gut-punched with F+S - the game is trying to tell the story of the kingdoms, and the players are used to being able to tell their own story.

    I was really dissapointed in the lack of heavy armor and armored horses, as far as MP goes.

    Horsemen have gone from being fun to being somewhat of a liability - you draw all of the fire from the deathmuskets and die pretty quickly.

    On the bright side, the super-lethality-regardless-of-armor abilities of muskets mean nobody wears it anymore, which makes being an archer a lot more fun.

    So here is my question.  TaleWorlds has thier name on this, so can we expect them to support it, or is it all going to be on these Snowberry people?

    Cause, you know, I'm not above porting the textures and stuff into Warband and just adding F+S' stuff to Warband and calling it good, if I can't rely on Tale Worlds and the Module System to fix all of the things that are -already- rubbing me the wrong way about F+S.

    Female SP?

    As a male who has -never- played a female character, this is still a glaring omission.

    The loss of the entire character background section was like a stab in the gut the first time I started playing, and I too noticed the lack of a gender option.

    This is ridiculous. Don't remove options "to make it more realistic". I'm playing a game. Sure, it might try to follow 'history' but the best part of history is alternative history. The game changes every time you finish the tutorial anyways.

    Merc camps, indeed. If you zoom your map all the way out, they're always visible like towns.

    I know troops that cost more than 1/week cost half when they are garrisoned. I wonder if recruits already being so cheap do not give you a discount. I guess I've never bothered to check.

    Really the game doesn't work if you try to play on your own. I don't think you can recruit defeated lords as an independant. You have no one to patrol your lands or generate free troops in castles they hold. As the player you're the only person who actually has to pay for troops..... everyone else recruits them slowly over time. You don't get caravans either and that is what makes you rich.

    This is why you want Warband, honestly.  Not to be too much of an advertiser, but you can recruit lords to your side and make companions Lords in warband, which means you can actually deal with the 1,000 man+warparties.

    I came up with a new, lazier option:

    Flag the two-handed bastard sword versions as "not usable on horseback". Give the Alt versions to your mounted troops, or make sure they have some other weapon for backup.

    As long as Lords do change I'm happy.  This is actually a question for a mod I'm working on, but since it involves a question of whether these mechanics in general EXIST, not how to change them, I figured it'd go here.

    Is there any way for the code to determine if a troop has an item in their specific item potential list, ie:

    If troop has polearm as potential item -
    force polearm into inventory on non-siege battle start.

    Just looking to cut down/simplify the code.

    bastard swords penalty

    Hmmm. Is there a way to remove the "using a 2h from horseback" penalty entirely, either for bastard swords or for swords in general, or is that hardcoded? I really like what you've done with the alt version swap, unfortunantly I have about 10 Katanas (which use bastard sword code) in my mod which, doing it this way is going to result in a LOT of additional code.  Honestly, I could care less what the AI does with them regarding the shield swapping because all of my AI troops packing katanas are either on horseback or don't carry a shield - and removing the penalty at all for variable swords seems like the best idea.

    It seems pointless to assign a two-hander penalty to a sword that's designed to be usable in one hand also - isn't that the whole point of HAVING a bastard sword, that flexibility?  :shock:

    He's a criminal - this means you fight dirty - start riding past him as you open the conversation window and chat a little bit. By the time you tell him its time to die you'll be halfway down the hill. Hit him in the face with your bow for great justice!  :mrgreen:
