When in battles, my character model does not load, and so is essentially invisible. What makes this even stranger is that the model loads just fine when I'm in a town or the training area.
I've tried playing around with the graphics settings and pressing all the buttons but nothing seems to...
Un-goddamn-believable. Hours of troubleshooting, reinstalling, booting with different configurations, going through firewall and anti-virus settings, and you know what fixed the issue for me? Switching my region from US to UK and language from English (US) to Engligh (UK). Fixed as in I got the launcher to work and I'm past the loading screen, about to start the tutorial. Good luck to everyone who still has issues, see you on the other side!
In either case, I have created a report and forwarded it to the development team so they can take a look at the issue. We will update everyone as soon as we know more.
Thanks for the answer, I'm glad to hear you're working on a fix. I have tried all of those steps. The only one I was not able to complete was installing the .NET framework 4.7.2 because I already have 4.8 installed. I'm pretty sure it should be backwards compatible with 4.7.2, but can you confirm this?
Sure, if the game was running. It's not though. And besides, I've rebooted my machine multiple times at this point, which would have closed the game's process anyway.
I also have this problem, even after making sure firewall or antivirus isn't the culprit and updating visual c++ and .NET. Launcher seemingly does nothing, and opening directly from .exe gets me to the loading page for a few seconds, after which the game crashes as does the crash reporting software. Nice.
In addition to the methods in this thread I also tried doing a clean boot with only windows and steam services running, no difference there. I also checked the integrity of my windows files with the sfc command, same deal.
It would be great if we could get confirmation that this issue is being looked into. Currently it's looking like I'll probably continue beating my head against the wall for a while. give up, leave a scathing review on steam and then ask for my money back and play something that actually works.
