This is true. It's messed up. Don't listen others when they tell you it's ping. It's not.

I asked how to properly couch and they told me to "aim at the center of the screen", or something like that. I guess that if you move lance a bit right it's not going to work EVEN if you hit the target. You have to go right on the target, more or less. In theory.

What if you could gain levels in multiplayer? Good players would be 10x stronger than they are now, and all of you newbies would complain how you have no chance of winning because you're low level and poor armor/weapons.

The problem with games today is that people play them for numbers and not for fun.

Camping can be extremely annoying and boring. As a valid battle tactic I'm ok with it, but I've seen people camp when it doesn't give them any advantage (on contrary).

Today, Rhodoks vs Sarranid. Rhodoks camp on Plains map. What they do is basically get to the edge of the map and.. wait to get shot down by enemy archers. This simply does not work.

The worse thing is that they didn't need to camp. I was among the Rhodok cavalry and we did great vs Sarranid but part of our team preferred to just ... wait wait wait.. lose. It's lame, sorry. When you can play normal game and decide to camp, that sucks. When you camp, and let the rest of your team die, that's even worse.


IMO, camping and shield walls are among the most overrated strategies in this game. Flanking and using guerrilla groups are the most overlooked ones.

So many people want to turn every multiplayer game into a mindless zombie grind.

No, thank you, we like SKILL over GRIND. If you want to be cool and have continuity because you have lots and lots of free time on your hands but no skill, I suggest you find some of many MMO's out there who thrive on nothing but that.


(And I also know who is good player and who isn't, I don't even need to see the chart.)


ps: Just to make it clear - if you can come up with the idea of making something permanent without it representing grind, then sure, I'm all ears on how to do it. But "and you get to KEEP the money", is basic grind philosophy.

You're missing the point. They WANT to farm/grind.

You see, a skilled person wants an environment where skill would win.
But person with no ability/skill whatsoever, except huge amount of free time, will want grinding environment where the only thing that matters is how often you play, even if you suck.


They cry over the fact that they aren't good in MP simply for showing up, and I would cry if they would beat me simply because they vegetate entire day and increase their attributes that way.
If MP was the way some people want it here, I would not play it. So you can never satisfy everyone.

I never see great players use 2 shields in Battle. Euro servers.

I could say "learn to play" and then it won't take you 10 min to kill someone with 2 shields, but I guess "playing recklessly" and braindead without using tactics just doesn't go well with "learn to play". So why not stick to DM TDM and Siege servers, and don't tell me there's no people playing these modes. Siege also has fast respawn and mindlessly spamming two handed / polearm weapons works great.

I've been doing something similiar for a while. My character in SP uses almost exactly same stats as my MP character I usually play as. This really works nicely if you want to practice shooting (bow, crossbow), but will work less efficiently with melee because many foes in SP have stats that quite differ from MP stats. Blocking is, IMO, also much harder against AI because human opponents are more predictable while AI is totally random. Another thing is that practicing melee in SP will be slow because of much time wasted on running around the map, or preparations in the battle. Practicing lancing and sword while mounted will work well in SP.

To be quite honest, this changes things a great deal. Typical Rhodok player usually plays on foot.
When you play as horse archer, you can single-handedly kill many enemy troops you would not be able on foot, or would but with great risk. Not only that, but you running around as horse archer changes makes AI run/move after you, especially cavalry. I don't know you playstyle, so I'm speaking in general. If you're riding around and AI chasing you, this means sharpshooters are shooting enemy in the back, or only have to deal with half of enemy troops (the other half is chasing you).

All this might give wrong impression about real capability of Rhodok troops, when player plays as a Rhodok himself and not as Khergit.

But still it's nice to read tips here, and, shouldn't you be playing with that two handed scimitar (forgot the name) or Shortened military scythe, which resemble Katana the most? Considering the character name you use I like the outfit as well, is that a mod or your own cosmetic change? I dislike wedding dresses in general, but on these pictures it really looks cool, and goes with the theme of Kiddo.

I don't need to. I am euro playing on euro servers. I have 150 ping on your Michigan server. My point was that if you, who live next door to the server, have as high ping as I do here in Europe playing on that same server of yours, then the problem isn't in the game. It's you.

I am a bit older than you assume. I already have gray hair, FYI. And I don't play FPS's because they are for hyperactive kids. Commodore 64 had more fun games.
And before you start accusing others of being kids in high school, which some no doubt are, you do sound like one too. Older people tend to be more calm and reasonable.

I have replied to your statements about spamming, we can consider that solved now, right? Which leaves ping, and that's proven to be client-side problem not server-side.

1. If you suck at the game, you will get beaten and lose. Practice is solution.
2. If you start whining on the forum blaming everyone else but yourself - the fact that you get beaten in a multiplayer and suffer, gives me sadistic pleasure.
3. It's nobody else's fault that your computer/connection/eyesight is bad. If you join a server, hit TAB, and see your ping over 100, that's not the fault of the game. Don't give me the story of pings of 150 and over. Ping of 120-150 is what I, as a euro, have on your Michigan servers.

4. People can play Warband in many ways. People who love spamming play Deathmatch and other game modes with instant respawn. People who don't like spamming play Battle or Fight&Destroy modes, on servers which have friendly fire at least 75% total (ranger and melee). If you choose to play on servers that encourage spam, that's not the fault of the game. NOBODY spams in Battle/FnD modes. That just does not happen there, or you die fast. Almost everyone in Battle/FnD uses one handed weapons in melee, and two handed only exceptionally.

Archers fire into an area when two huge armies meet, and are at a distance.

In smaller skirmishes, presented in this game, archers shoot into combat. Example:

If friendly fire is on, whether archers shoot into combat or not is academic question. They shoot if they want to, and it brings risk of shooting an ally. That's it. IRL, wind etc doesn't really affect arrows at close distances.
