  1. economy broken

I just installed the latest patch, thinking I'd start playing warband again. But here's the thing, the latest patch makes everything the same price in every city. I been around the map. Iron is the same price everywhere. Fish is the same price everywhere. Everything is the same price everywhere...
  2. Geroia

As I see it Swadians are based on the swabians, which is in germany. Sarranids are based on the sassanid empire, which is in iran. Boyars were Russian lords, so vagirs are Russian. The Kergits are the mongols. Nords is obvious. Pavaise crossbows were from the italian city states. So I would guess I guess Geroia would be based on genoa.

  3. Bug Reports - E1200 Warband (solution to crashes in first post)

For me schools have stopped working with this patch. I built one in Fedner about two months ago and rep has not changed. I ended up vamping next to it for a fortnight, just to see if it would ever go up but it doesnt.

Obviously I built the school before starting the message post

Rep never goes up. I checked another village and that is always the same as well.
  4. Patch 1.125 - feedback and suggestions

I tried playing this game again today after a break. All I realised is that I was right. The medium difficulty setting gives the ai an unfeasable amount of top tier troops, making the game unbalnced and not fun. Not tried the easy setting yet, but I guess even thats going to still be stupidly, unenjoyably difficult.

ver 1.113 was fun. I was enjoying the game. 1.215 is not enjoyable. The ai gets all toip tier troops and has more armys. If you dont cheat, which most people who brown nose the devs do, the game is impossible. This is becasue over time the ai can  wear your army down to low tier troops, then beat you every time with its huge number of super fast regenerating top tier armys.

Why not have a difficulty setting that is the same as 1.113, for those of us that enjoyed the game before it was made stupidly difficult? You could keep the rediculous,16  100 marmaluke ai armys for people who like that in the hard settings.Oh but thats right, are all dumb complaining fools and the devs only listen to people who tell them they are always right.

  5. SP played as MP

    Divinusmortalis 说:
One of my greatest desires is to play the campaign with a friend as an ally nation or even an ally lord. Could someone brighten my night with good news or is it not gonna happen? Oooh the anxiety is killer, be gentle! =(

A lot of us were hoping for something like that, instead of the standard small arena mp that we got. You need to remember, though, if you say some aspect of m&b is fun the devs will remove it. You can almost hear them

'What?!? It's fun charging the enemy with a couched lance lance?!? Quick lts break the lance and make horses get shot by arrows after theyv gone three feet. Ahh, thats better, now nobodys having fun.'

That's why the game gets less fun every patch.

  6. Patch 1.125 - feedback and suggestions

    Wheem 说:
I tried the save game once; I ran straight for the enemy party on the map and was joined by farmers in the village setting, rather than by the caravan. There were 12-15'ish enemies remaining when I got unhorsed and taken out. I didn't actually look for any other enemies on the map, but I could see an army of ~1,000 Sergeants and Sharpshooters (the latter especially) being a tough fight.

Checking the notes for Shariz shows that it had over 200 men in it, and looking in Weyyah castle revealed ~70 top tier soldiers, so victory shouldn't be impossible (and you should get some solid loot out of it too, with the enemy fielding such high level armies).

Also - what settings are you playing on? Using standard campaign AI doesn't produce armies of all elites like that; in fact I'm sometimes disappointed that the AI lords don't field more top tier men. If hard campaign AI makes those types of armies frequent, perhaps there needs to be a new setting between that one and normal - which I think would be a pretty good "sweet spot."

Maybe just my game is screwed if the lords in yours dont have all top tier troops. I had the game on the hardest settings, then I swapped campaing ai to poor, to try to get less top tier troops fighting me.

With campain ai on hard all the rhodok troops were either sharpshooter or sergent. So fighting one of the lords with 150 men is tough. fighting two or three destroys your army.

Your right, I could use my garrison to beat them. But there main army is just around the corner besieging the yellows. They probly got 500 sergents and 300 sharpshooters. How to defend a town against that?

  8. Patch 1.125 - feedback and suggestions

If you think I'm just complaining for no reason take a look at this

    ooox.png

Looks easy enough, just 80 men against my 40 and a caravan, right? Give it a try, the savegame is here.

If you somehow manage to beat them the other thousand men are just around the corner.
  9. Patch 1.125 - feedback and suggestions

Single player is still too hard. Having the enemy armys crush you is not fun. Not everyone has an army of 150 huscals, but the game has been balanced around that.

I have an army of 70 mixed troops. They all die when I meet armys of 40 marmaluks, 35 guards and 50 master archers. Every time. And I'm one of those wierd people that do not enjoy having all my men die, my town taken and my gear taken away. It is not fun.

Maybe it's OK in the first part of the game, when you are a slave to one of the ai kings, but when you make your own faction you get obliterated. Fighting 16 armys of elite troops with whatever ragtag band of skirmishers you can afford with the six hundred bucks a week you get from your first castle is impossible. I can just about keep my castle now when I play on all the easyest settings.

Did any of the devs actually try testing the patch before releasing it? I tried rolling back to 1.1113 which was ok. From 1.11113 I just wanted the bugs fixes and maybe some new features, not the game being made impossibly hard.  But I get a error message about the save is not compatable.

The game was better before all the stuff get messed about with. Should have just released a patch that fixed stuff, instead of fiddling around with things that were OK.

    Bullsh*t.

The game balance has never been better. Finally multiplayer combat isn't focused around spinning and exploiting bugs in the sweet spot code. The armor changes isn't really a problem at all, and I think it looks great

The only problems I have found with the new patches, are the CTD that I fixed by turning off ragdolls.

Somehow I expected this. The devs want feedback, not brown nosing. If everyone just posted

'This is great, everything you do is fantastic etc.'

The devs would not know what was good and what was rubbish. If you want to do a licky do it someplace else.

  11. patch 1.123/1.124 feedback and suggestions

    Tigerclaw 说:
In one sentence - this patch broke more than it fixed. Combat is all messed up, weapons seem to do very little damage or else do one or two hit kills, and most of the people I've talked to say that they have lag even when their ping is in the 50 or lower range. Honestly, can we stop "fixing" things that aren't broken?

qft. All thew 'rebalancing' items and changing stuff that doesnt need changing just messed the game up. And what's with changing the vagir and kergit armors to be the wrong way round? They look stupid with all the wrong hats and stuff.

The game was better before all the stuff get messed about with. Should have just released a patch that fixed stuff, instead of fiddling around with things that were OK.

    Alas, I do use Steam.

The auto-update wasn't such a stunner, but I have no idea why my warband folder is no longer there. Since when does a patch totally delete all components of all installed mods? I hate ****ing Steam. This is the kind of thing that makes me feel like an idiot for buying a legit copy of a game. If I hadn't paid for it I wouldn't be dealing with this ****. (Developers should please take note of the previous point.)

My warband had that POS steam as well. You can just download the game from tw website to get rid of it. Man, drm sucks all the goodness out of games.

I did one better. I created a new troop labled "Dark Knight" and made every factions top teir troop upgradable into that and watched this upgradable flow chart over time. Sarranids Dark Knight ratio to any other faction was damn scary which implies an imbalance in top tier numbers.

Yes, Sarranids somehow manages to have absurd amounts of mamlukes. Like sometimes one third of the army is composed of mamlukes. I hardly see Swadian Knights & Huscarls...

To me it seems like all the armys are getting more top tier troops. I just tried to start a kingdon and got attacked by 1200 men against my 130. usually this is just rediculusly difficult. but now it seems to be pretty much impossible.

Is anyone else finding the difficulty got bumped up a lot? TBH it probably needed to get a bit more difficult. When you get your kingdom up and running it seemed to easy before. But starting a kingdom seems just about impossible now, so maybe the devs has gone a bit to far?

  19. Tax income and the next update

    Daniel Parker 说:
Ive read somewhere that as you progress through the game in single player, there is a problem with the amount of tax you recieve from your properties. Because of this i have stopped playing, and i plan on waiting to see if it will be fixed in the next patch. Can someone please explain more about this tax issue, and is there any idea of when the next patch will be released?

I think its tarifs on towns thats broke. They overright instead of adding up.

Like other people say tax inefficient is a good thing to stop you owning everything. But you should be able to get a good garison and a good army without messing about trading or cheating with a mod.
  20. Beta patch 1.121

Yeah, mp is all the devs are interested in. Warband is pretty much the same as the original with arena type multiplayer instances bolted on. I was hoping for a better all round game, instead of all focus being on quake style deathmatches that only interest ten percent of people who buy the game.

yep, that's why they're correcting a lot os single player bugs, retexturing cities that you never see in multiplayer and so forth

People in gaming sure love to whine-a-lot

That's a supprisingly pleasant  and intelligent response. Usually the titchyest, slightest critisism of a game attracts a dozen rabid fan boys who froth a bunch of mindless nonsence. Like 'Meaeaegh, if you dont' like it your a dumbass meaeaeagaeeaghghg'.

But your right, there are a couple of minor improvements over the original. These are the new faction, become a king. But thats it. I was expecting a lot more, like maybe city building, more advanced trade, more diplomacy etc.

You got to admit single player got the shaft in favor of multiplayer for warband. The lances being broke for sp just shows where the devs priority is. MP would be cool if it didnt smother the life out sp development.
