  1. My greed is killing me.

Basically if you have hostile relations with X faction, then take up the cause of a Usurper, you are still viewed as being independent and not part of a faction.  problem is you don't have the control of an independent faction like being able to send emissaries etc. yet you are still viewed as a mercenary and the leader.

Personally I think that should be changed, if you join as a usurper I think it should recognize the fact you are now a vassal of the usurper and reset faction standings to that of the King/Queen of the rebel faction.

I ended up telling lady Isola the rebllion was impossible and cancelling my service and joining the Nords.  I felt bad that she left forever after that.  I had hoped to take up her cause at a later date, I really hate swadia.
  2. Different Recruit Names

Not that I know anything about modding, but wouldn't it be relatively easy to change just the name Swadian Recruit to Nod recruit? I.e. keep the troop tree but rename the troops to whatever faction they're held by?

The only problem you run into there, Is the fact it will always be like that, i.e. if you start a new game, the swadians will be recruiting Nod recruits.

Although it does surprise me they wouldnt make that changeable value.  Considering this is a completely text based dialogue system, There are alot of things im suprised are not changeable in game.  Such as changing city/town/castle names.  Thats standard fair in alot of Strategy games (total war/Civ/rise of nations), Im still rather new to the game so forgive me if there you can do that and I just missed it.
  3. To many bandits!!!

Could be scope for a mod - imagine if your town had options to build town watch with the ability for you to place troops in it just like garrisonning a castle. These men then head out and actively patrol the watchtowers seeing range around the town and engaging bandits. With this system you could put fast mounted blunt units into the watch and whenever you watchmen return they add the prisoners taken to prison block. They could even serve as reinforcements to your army if you fight close enough to the town. What is more the garrison townwatch screen should have the ability to hire manhunters in the same way you'd hire mercs.

exactly? Why couldnt they implement a feature, to have a weekly charge to hire ManHunters to patrol a given fiefdom.

    Thanks!

Also, if you do remain an independant, will faction relations eventually reset if you wait long enough without bothering them?
  5. My greed is killing me.

So Maybe I did something dumb but I hope im not ruined. I played for awhile, as a merc lord, i pulled a stint in every factions employ.  I then became, a filthy raider because I got greedy, raided villages took their loot.  So all but one faction is pretty much "at war" with me.  Seeing as I...
  6. Cavalry too strong?

My general strategy is this and it seems to work out rather well.  Move my troops within archer range, order the archers/infantry to hold the ground.  I order the cavalry to FOLLOW me.  I never order them to simply charge.  I will generally make strafing runs along their lines.  Still the cav may be stupid, but since they are ordered to follow, they will follow, and wont charge and engage standing still.  As im coming in on the first strafe run i order the infantry to charge.

Another thing is have your cavalry follow you, around to the rear of the enemy, then order your infanty to attack from the front, then charge your cavalry from the rear.  You essentially sandwich them.
